Sengun is young and starting to enter the prime years, he will learn everything, with Durant on his side, Durant can now shoot without thinking of the rebound, Houston team will be in the playoffs for years to come, they will be a contender in the west, but the only problem is can they finish other teams in west in the playoffs, Durant need to lead this team and be a leader, so that they will have a better chance, if Durant will be healthy its almost a guarantee a playoffs spot.

I think they can. Rockets roster is not fragile why they are now all skilled in addition to experience of Durant that is valuable on clutch time.

I believe they can pursue higher rank and maybe compete on higher rounds to playoffs. Nuggets is the best example that skills alone will not make you to finals since they encounter a lot of injuries with their key player that affect their game badly.

While OKC team proves being consistent and tough will make you to the finals and win. They manage to win the finals because none of their key player injured especially Holmgren.
This coming year although OKC is still one of the favorites, their road this year will be different, of course coaches already study their plays, its up to them to adjust in the situation, but just like Houston, this team has multiple drafts that they can use to add or move a player, but i want this team to face Houston and lets see how both young players matchup with each other, Excited with the result, who will have the upper hand if they face in the playoffs.

As a defending champion, every teams will be eyeing them specially on how they dominate the regular season game and become the top team in the NBA. So for sure the scouts of other teams have known their plays already. And coach Daigneault will have to developed new games and strategy so that they will be ahead of the game. And we should take note that no NBA teams has won back to back, the last time was the Warriors if I'm not mistaken.

But there are reports that GM picks the OKC Thunder to win again this year. So that will be a big accomplished for them if indeed they defend their NBA championship this season.

Quote
NBA general managers overwhelmingly expect the Oklahoma City Thunder to be the league’s first repeat champion in nearly a decade, while Denver’s Nikola Jokic is their pick to reclaim the MVP award and Miami’s Erik Spoelstra was once again the pick as best coach.

They are being expect to win another one because the core team is still intact and players are entering the prime years, as a team, securing the contract should also be prioritized as its the one thing that breaks the team chemistry and make the team bothered most of the time, but i think they can handle it, they just need to stop surging teams of the west and ofcourse secure a playoff spot in the west, also houston is another threat to be look at, as they are also building a team for the future years to come.

But I read a report that Jay Williams is injured?

Quote
It's already understood that the OKC Thunder are heading into the 2025-26 campaign at less than full strength following the recent operations for both veteran Kenrich Williams and redshirted rookie Nikola Topic.

However, as the days dwindle down toward their October 21 regular-season tip-off, it seems increasingly likely that All-Star Jalen Williams will be joining them for the opener on the sidelines in street clothes.

https://thunderousintentions.com/okc-thunder-jalen-williams-problem-fans-should-be-nervous-about

So that could be a bad start for the Thunder this season if one of their core will not be available. There are also a lot of hype on Nikola Topic so he might be vital to the team as well. Might be a bad start but once this player is back for sure the Thunder will be one of the best team again.

No offense to Bronmy but he needs to grind more.
But what if he already reached his limit? I’m sure he’s doing his best to improve, same with other players, But honestly, not everyone’s made for the NBA. Some players can grind every day, work their hardest, and still end up being just average.

Maybe Bronny falls into that category. At his size, he’s not exactly special, and nowhere near his father’s level. Right now, he’s basically living under LeBron’s shadow. But the real question is, how long can that last? Once his dad retires, will his teammates still treat him the same way, or will the hype fade too?

That's the thing as even he got all the resources but if he already reached his limit then he's going to ends up like an ordinary player, he's going to be lucky if team considered him after LeBron retires, though he still got some time to shows up and bring his talent to his own name, and leave that shadow from  being a son of LeBron

Maybe giving him that same chance like what happened to Jordan Clarkson though he's in the 2nd round he still manage to grind his name and now even he's not that kind of a main guy thing but he created his own name and continue to impress his fans.

Bronny has an age benefit, but it doesn't seem like he's going to take advantage of it. At least based on the results of the last two preseason games, I don't see any improvement in his skills.
By the way, it's worth noting that Bronny doesn't have much time to improve his position in the NBA, as his current contract only runs until the end of the 2027-28 season, with the last season being a team option.
While it is true that it doesn't show up on stats that much, but he is said to be working on defense, because he is agile and while not as athletic as his dad of course, he is still quite athletic, at least he is in NBA level for that part. So if he can keep being like that, fast, agile, quick, while also being great on defense, he "may" find himself some spot somewhere.

But I agree, doubtful that he will stay much after his father leaves because you can't have Ben Wallace type of zero offense players if you are a guard. Let's give him 2 more years, which he will have, and see if he will improve at all.

I honestly believe G-League would be a lot better for him, he could at least get to play and be better there for a while, like at least half a season.

The Rockets are looking good in the preseason. Well, that was just against Atlanta and Utah. Although they traded away a young Jalen Green, who’s a potential star, right now KD is the better and more reliable scorer. Maybe they’re aiming to become a stronger contender and can’t wait for Jalen Green to reach his prime. Next, they’re facing the Pelicans, let’s see if they can beat a slimmer Williamson. Honestly, the Pelicans are strong and could be a playoff team as long as they have a disciplined Zion.

He already played in the G League, and it doesn't seem like it did him any good. Well, if he focuses on defense, then that should also be reflected in the stats. At the very least, the number of steals in the stats shows how good a player is at defense. In Bronny's case, he made only 9 steals last season, 4 of which were in the last game of the season. I guess this is too little for a player who is "working on defense".

But Bronny is not that big to play good defense, not even the length that can poke the ball and make a steal. That should be his area, but then again, his physical will not alone him to be that kind of great defender.

I know that we have criticized him ever since, and we all know that it's one reason why Stephen A. Smith and Lebron are not the best of friends because on how Bronny was, let's admit it, not being like by many basketball analyst but it is what it is.

But he can improve to became a good perimeter defender. Look at what GP2 can do on Warriors he's been their reliable guy in perimeter for past few years.

He can do the same and maybe with that his role will improve in his team. But also he need to work out on his shooting since its good for a guard that he have this as weapon to help their team to win.

Many people criticize him for not being good. But maybe those people are expecting that he should be like his father, but the fact its hard to replicate the performance and total dominance of LBJ.

Maybe they forget what happen to him, but before the incident, he is playing on level that is already ready into pro, this is just my opinion but that ight be the reason why he is not playing well, aside from that the backlash from haters that he is drafted in the NBA, that is what i don't like with people, just because they don't have the opportunity like the kid, they are tearing him down with everything , I mean if this were MJ son they would be praise, this is the reality, if you are not their idol, they will say bad things, but when you are their idol, they would have crawl if their idol tell them to do it, let the child play.

Not exactly like that, people hate him because they don’t think he’s qualified to be in the NBA. It’s like he took a spot that should’ve gone to a more deserving player. Many believe he was drafted mainly because of his father’s influence, and since it was the Lakers who picked him, the suspicion kinda makes sense. And honestly, looking at how things are going, he’s not getting good minutes, his stats aren’t impressive, so fans aren’t really wrong with their expectations. The criticism’s not gonna stop anytime soon.

WE should not expect anything from the pre-season this is before 25% of what teams really can give on the court. This is just a practice game/warm-up fro everyone specially for the new comers and bench player.  KD is sure a better scorer than Green because of his shooting skill but for how long? and with the health issue I hjope he can play more than 70% of the game this season.

No need to worry about KD health because he will not play a lot of physical work considering that Rockets has a lot of reliable player on their roster that can play their role properly.

KD will need to stick to his role probably catch and shoot or attack the ring with good screen just like when he is on GSW. Rockets is a complete team composed with young talents that can help KD rather will make KD play easier since other team member can attack too like Sengun and Thompson.

GP2 didn't developed his good perimeter defense, he had that since he entered in NBA and obviously it has something to do with his genes coming from his father "the Glove". And far as being a good defender, maybe there are some that are really good in the beginning.

However, I haven't heard someone developed their good perimeter defense, Kawhi has known to have a big hands so he is a good defender early on in his career. But yeah, I will cut some slack on Bronny and see if he can developed into a good defender. But one thing about good defender is that they have something to have like in a physical advantage like having a wing span, or have that uncanny ability to anticipate or willing to give up their body like Caruso to get a offensive foul, or have a mind game like Draymond Green.

In Bronny's case, this criticism is entirely justified, since without his father's influence, he would hardly have been selected in the draft. It is noteworthy that there are players in the G League who were not selected in the draft, even though their skills are clearly better than Bronny's.

Maybe that is the reason why Bronny isn't that great? He never had the hunger in him, he didn't came from the streets, he didn't had to fight for a penny, he didn't had to prove anything to anyone. Dude will live a life of ease, even after his father retires or even after his father passes away, he will inherit hundreds of millions of dollars, so Bronny never has to work a single day in his life, and grew up all his life knowing that.

So for Bronny, it is not a life or death situation, it is just a fun thing he likes doing, that's it, out of pure love. You are not going to be "that" great with no hunger in you, many greats came from that hunger, and that is why Bronny may have hit his ceiling already, and may not do that great.

I don't know about Irving, he has a torn ACL and it will take like eight months to a year to recover from that. That's why they got D'Lo as their point guard because of the Irving situation. As far as Davis goes, he will be healthy day in day out.
This is an october 1 update.. https://x.com/BannedMacMahon/status/1973116825933324379
Look at him, he is already balling, so I'm optimistic that he will be back soon.

So I guess it's just about right on where they are as far as outright betting goes. No doubt that OKC will be the top favorite, their core is intact and with just minor additions to their team. Cavs was a good team last year, maybe they can have a break out run and push past the second round with Mitchell and Garland.

Same with the Nuggets, they still have Jokic at the helm, although they've traded Porter Jr., they added Cam Johnson and Jonas Valanciunas to give Jokic some time to rest and then put him in the last 6 minutes of the 4th quarter.

I like their current ranking in the championship futures, mainly because i trust the active players they have right now.

Irving doesn’t need to rush his return, he can take his time to recover. as long as the mavericks can maintain a playoff spot, that’s already good enough.
I’m sure he’ll be back before the playoffs, fully healthy and ready to go.

The media and other players expect him so much that he is so pressured by the situation, there is still room for growth but only him can unluck those potentials in him, maybe he need to detach from being a James, in the sense that he will have peace of mind, imagine the media are looking on him in any small details maybe that thing is also making him play and grow properly, i hope that people don't judge the person, and always what I'm going to say let the guy play, imagine your parents of family always looking at your work, that is disturbing like the media is doing, they are the one breaking players.

I also see the Thunder as the favorites this season especially with their core players being intact, but I will not be surprised if the Nuggets will win it all yet again.

No offense against the Thunder, but their matchup against the Nuggets in the playoffs ended up in 7 games. Now that the Nuggets are now better than last season with the addition of Brown, Johnson and Valanciunas, as long as both Jokic and Murray play at their highest, there's a chance that they can beat the Thunder in the playoffs. It's just my prediction though, but I might put some buckos on the Nuggets winning the Western Conference this early. Cheesy

As for the Cavaliers and the East though, I just hope that they can recover after how they got defeated by Indiana. Now that some Eastern teams are obviously much weaker now, this is the time for the Cavaliers to dominate the conference in the playoffs. Many have high expectations on them this season, and if they will not reach at least the Conference Finals, there's a chance that they might trade some of their core players in the next off-season.

Lebron talked about how he is no longer considering being that much active in the games, and push himself during the season. He is still Lebron, so when he plays he will play, but he knows that he needs mroe rest now due to his age. He talked about how they have Doncic now, and Reaves and others, so they can keep the fort down until he arrives.

That way, he could play like maybe 5-6 games a month at most, making like 50 games a season at most, maybe not even that much, rest of the games he believes Lakers has enough squad depth to get to playoffs. Then Lebron will show up for Playoffs and will do his best. I think main idea is that he knows they can't win a title, and he knows they do not need him for just reaching playoffs, so he will rest more, and get the same result as he would get if he played 82 games anyways.
