Why not? if he's capable to lead his team and can still produce those numbers or more larger than what people expect then its fine.
But question is does the new management would allow it? knowing that they know Lillard might be injury prone in next following years. Well Maybe we could see all of this once he gets back on the roster if he could still able to lead Portland the same as before.
I don't have any big expectation for Portland but let see what they can do next season.
For now, I believe Portland using him again as the main guy on their roster because that’s the only reason why would a team will re-acquire their main star after trading it. I don’t know the full scope how deep their roster but for sure they already acquired a lot of young talent and the missing pieces is a veteran star player that has a potential to explode on any game. Assuming Portland indeed have deep roster including bench. With Lilard help will surely gives them better position in playoffs Yeah, if chemistries between the players will developed for sure Lilard can help in terms of leading them, with his scoring capabilities I think he still have shot for the team, though it's a new squad that he needed to blend his game the chance is always possible if everyone have that same goal to win, we won't be able to conclude it as the season is not start yet, we will see his impact once we see them playing together.

The team is not the same since he left Portland, so there will be a period of adjustment for Lillard to blend in with the new team. He might still be capable of leading Portland, but he is not what he used to be when he was in the prime years of his career with them. But looking at the line up, in paper it's very weak as compare to other teams in their division. But let's give him a shadow of the doubt, maybe this time, just like Lebron when he get's back in Miami the second time around, it could be a very different outcome.

So it looks like it will not be as competitive as other teams in the West. It's good that they take Dame back and for sure that Dame is happy as he might retire to the City that draft him and where he really become a good player. But to be able to bring this roster to at least in the playoff? It might be a tall order as others have said already, Dame might be in the stage that his body is deteriorating. Although there is some good names in the list, but again, the West is going to be a very competitive conference with everyone improving their line-up.
It is clear that Blazers are basically tanking at this stage of their era. There is no chance that they can do great, that team sucks and they can only tank with this team and they can only hope for some good picks. I have no idea if they even own their pick, but I do hope that they do, because they are going to be close to bottom. They also need to realize, getting one good player isn't enough. Look at them before, they had Dame, who was a great player, and they even had CJ McCollum, who played amazing, and yet when you think about it, they didn't do well all that much. So they need to end up with more than that, they need a few stars, and they can do that if they tank a few seasons and get some good players from free agency.

They have a different Dame now but they can still build the team around him but, with this new management, we don't know what they're planning.
It's worth noting that Lillard had decent statistics last season, considering that he averaged 24.9 points per game. However, he is already 35 years old, and building a team around him may not be the best idea for the Blazers. So, it's unlikely that the Blazers will achieve any outstanding results in the upcoming season. We'll see that but it's a fact that age does matter in the NBA. But since the acquisition happened already while he's there, they'll depend on how things were planned already and he's just part of the roster. If he decently contribute with that stats last season, still, they can invest around him but he's no longer the star that they'll be doing it for.

"Kuminga dilemma."
I just wish he wouldn't end up like the "Schroder phenomenon".
I hope so too. Everyone talks about the same fate as Dennis Schroder if he don't accept the offer he's getting from the Golden State Warriors. According to other news reports, he says he is a big Laker fan, so that may be a hint for the Lakers management to take him. But that will contradict himself. He doesn't like to work with superstars anymore, but he knows there are a lot of stars there, and he might not get the minutes that he wants if he accepts a Laker offer. (if ever it happens)
He'll not get much playing time there, they've been loaded already if that's the offer he's waiting for.

I don’t think so. Once the Lakers sign him and give him a decent contract, I believe he’ll also get good playing time. The Lakers lost in the playoffs before, so they’ll make adjustments, and maybe Kuminga could fit into that system. They need someone who can attack the paint, since that’s one of their strengths, and if you add some solid outside shooting to that, I think Kuminga is athletic enough to give them exactly what they need. judging on their roster, https://www.espn.com/nba/team/depth/_/name/lal/los-angeles-lakers.. they could put him in the starting line up.

Agree to that, if ever that he may signed by the Lakers he might get decent minutes as he's fit playing fast-face gaming style, he can run together with Luka and with his ability to finished his attacks that can help the Lakers, with his height and still young he got something to offer for the Lakers, if the management will be willing to acquire him and offer something that GSW may bite, it's going to be a good season for Kuminga in case that this change in uniform take place.

We can't know what will happen next season. They could make several other trades. Lillard will be much older and after all these injuries, he won't be able to carry the team even if he wants to. So unless a miracle happens, the Trail Blazers' rebuild will take quite a long time.

--- "Kuminga dilemma."
I just wish he wouldn't end up like the "Schroder phenomenon". Kuminga was already offered an extension by the Warriors, but didn't accept it. It is said that he is ready to accept other offers and join another team.
This is why gambling on yourself sometimes isn't worth it. He's the perfect example of this one. The clock is ticking against him, and the chances of him having that $30-$35M per year contract is going lower and lower as days passes by. I don't like to happen to him what happened to Schroder, but based on what's happening, it seems like that's where he's heading too. No other teams wans him, and if there's a team that wants him, they're lowballing the Warriors which of course the Warriors management will decline. As for him going to the Lakers, HE WILL NOT GO THERE, and that's 100%. The Lakers don't have the cap space to acquire him especially with that amount of money Kuminga wants. A sign-and-trade from the Warriors would be the most plausible option if he wants to go there, but he just declined their offer. Now if he really wants to go to the Lakers, he must accept a much lower contract. In short, he will not go there. I'll follow this situation of him just because I'm a Warriors fan and he contributed towards the 2022 title that they got still. I'm hoping that he will not follow Schroder, but... but... time is ticking.

A young core, they should get a superstar or we might see someone step up, but they might not make it to the playoffs the west is loaded, i don't think they have the chance but the future is bright young talents, its up to the management how to maximize those areas, been a long time since, i hope they make some big moves, is dame will be available mid season or he will sit for the remainder? yea he should retire their good memories in the city.

After the post about Portland Blazers sold for $4B. There's another clearance for the Boston Celtics to be sold for $6.1B. Looks like the NBA teams are now in a bull run, many former owners selling it. NBA link: https://www.nba.com/news/nba-approves-sale-of-boston-celticsWith $2B more expensive than the Blazers, this should have been what Tom Dundon and group had tried to purchase. But if that'smore than their budget, a team is a team in the NBA I guess.

If the owners of the Warriors and the Knicks decide to sell their teams, they will be valued even higher. I believe these teams could easily be sold for $8-10 billion. If I'm not mistaken, the Lakers were sold in a recent deal with a valuation of approximately $10 billion.

Adding him requires some trade I guess but what mostly matters now is waiting if he's going to be the Dennis Schroder part 2.

Exactly looks like this team cannot go anywhere especially that Lillard which could possibly lead them is out on their roster. Their odds to reach on playoffs is so low https://sports.betmgm.com/en/blog/nba/trail-blazers-playoff-odds-bracket-seed-bm23/ But let see what's going to happen since somehow there are surprises that will happen. Who knows Blazers would perform more better this season, But this team need a rebuild and they should do more efforts to recruit more stars and well known good players on the league so that at least they became more competitive team.

Do they no longer see the NBA as profitable, or do they just want to enjoy their fortune and spend it as retirement money? I don’t really understand because it feels a bit alarming. Normally, when a team is sold, there’s always a buyer, but honestly, this is the first time I’ve seen so many teams being put up for sale at the same time.

The $10B figure you’re referring to is more of a ,,hypothetical valuation,, floated around by analysts and Forbes rankings. Same goes for the Warriors and Knicks – they’re usually at the very top of the valuation list, often estimated in that $8–10B range depending on media rights and market size. Blazers and Celtics getting huge numbers just proves how crazy the market is right now.

Luka Doncic just got injured in an exhibition game for Slovenia. His teammate fell on him in the key. Not good for the Lakers… I wonder if they’ll ask to shut Luka down now as a result of this… With some luck it isn’t a big injury and he’ll be 100% for the season opener.

After the post about Portland Blazers sold for $4B. There's another clearance for the Boston Celtics to be sold for $6.1B. Looks like the NBA teams are now in a bull run, many former owners selling it. The amounts offered for the Blazers and Celtics are impressive, but that's not the limit. If the owners of the Warriors and the Knicks decide to sell their teams, they will be valued even higher. I believe these teams could easily be sold for $8-10 billion. If I'm not mistaken, the Lakers were sold in a recent deal with a valuation of approximately $10 billion. Yeah, not really sold at 10 billion, but majority of the shares were sold for a valuation of 10 billion. Meaning, lets assume that it was at least 51% that was sold (making it majority share) that means for 5.1 billion dollars they sold 51% of it. Same goes whatever the amount was, if it was 60% then 6 billion etc. Meaning it wasn't sold for 10 billion because there are minority owners, but yeah Lakers valuation was 10 billion. This is why it's shocking to see Celtics, the team that goes hand in hand with Lakers when talking about success, to end up with just 6 billion, would have assumed more. Dallas gone, Portland gone, Lakers gone, now Celtics are going, it's apparently a period where it's the best to sell. With ratings down, old owners realize NBA team valuation may not stay up for too long.

They have to stop him participating the FIBA and other games outside the NBA. There's that contract and clause that a team will have to pay I think Lakers just for him to be allowed. And if injuries like this comes, he needs to be benched and take that rest. Even it's only a minor injury, they have to secure him or still needed to be consulted from the management of Lakers.

Basketball isn't just about the NBA. International players representing their national teams is how it should be. The fact that NBA teams hand out crazy contracts to players are their own problem. Alperen Şengün also played in the Germany game but was held out of the Czechia match as a precaution. Preparation games aren't that important but in EuroBasket 2025 he absolutely has to play at 100%. He is by far the team's most important player. It's impossible for us to achieve success without him.
