Warriors predicted to land new 'Splash Brother' for Stephen Curry in free agency

On Friday, Malik Beasley was dropped as a target in a federal gambling investigation, leading to the effective start of his free agency. While his breakout year with the Detroit Pistons last season likely would have landed him a big deal this summer, the market has dried up as his off-court issues have overshadowed any potential deals.

So he will not be investigated anymore about the gambling thing. Hmm.

Is he really the Splash brother type?
I've watched him play, and sure, he has a good percentage in 3-point shooting and also finished 2nd in the Sixth Man of the Year votes. He is a volume shooter in distance and probably a good pair for Steph. The only problem that I see is how long he can manage to gain chemistry with the team. The play mostly revolves around Steph, and it gives an open man whenever he moves with or without the ball.

I think it's a good addition for the GSW if they ever take him.

You guys really think LBJ need a max contract to be with the CAVALIERS? He will not go to that team for the money,
He will retire there and play a year or 2, Money isnt and issue anymore with the King. All he will do is the last run before he ends his career.
He can get a minimum veteran salary if he like it.

For this to happen, there are two possible ways. Either Lebron plays out his contract at Lakers and when that ends, he goes to Cavs for the minimum. Or he buys out his own contract from lakers, mutually terminate it, convince Lakers for that, and then goes to Cavs, leaving insane amount of money on the table. I have to say, neither of those makes any sense to me, but the first one could be the one they do.

He will play out rest of his contract here, try to win some more, Doncic is there, so the yare a better team, and hope for a title, and if he fails, he could just go back to Ohio, and hope that he could do a lot better now. That is going to be tough, but not an impossible thing to handle, it should be possible.

Sure, his shooting was nice and opened the floor for Steph, but it was his defensive ability that made him a perfect match for Draymond on the defensive end. His ability to compliment Steph and Draymond on both ends of the floor was what made it all work. Once his ACL tore, he was never the same defensively. That’s why he had to go.

ACL will put something in your head, being afraid that it will happen again he may need a few months during his comeback to recover, but trade rumors add to that, maybe he don't want to get injured before trade deadline since it might put his value down, also the team already decided to trade him, so they might not let him play more so that he can be trade healthy, and GSW wan't to move on with him, at the end of the day its just business.

It will depend on his decisions. If he prioritizes money over legacy, he will demand for a max contract for his final year assuming that he wants to be a Cavalier but still having a max contract. Will the Cavs give it to him? Of course, not. Who in the hell wants to give a 42-year old a max contract. His performance will decline quicker than we expect now that he's beyond 40.

Speaking of money isn't an issue, I wonder why he didn't request for a pay cut, and opt in on his final year of his contract with the Lakers. I mean having a 15 million pay cut would give more flexibility towards the team as they can sign better players, and they might've let Finney-Smith stay if he took that pay cut. Anyway, I don't also think that he will accept a minimum veteran salary either. If I'm guessing, a 1 year with around 10-20M contract is the most plausible one that he can accept.

Anyway, we don't even know he wants to end his career as a Cavalier. I'm thinking that we're overthinking things.

He's not known as defensive player and his defensive rating decline more when he got ACL injury.

Klay is well known as greatest pure shooter and great splash buddy with Curry. He made significant contribution for the success of Warriors. But same as other great things comes with an end when Klay got injured and other negative factors occurred. I guess its hard to replicate their success created especially that its rare situation to find those kind of set up well blend together before.

If Curry wasn’t injured, I believe they had a real chance to reach the finals. They beat OKC multiple times in the regular season, and that’s the team that ended up as champions last year. So I think the Warriors are still a strong team, especially now that Butler has spent more time with them which helps build chemistry. The only concern is health, if either Butler or Curry gets injured, their finals chances drop a lot.

As for Klay, I think it depends on the matchup. Both Dallas and the Warriors aren’t really defensive teams, so their opponents can easily score 110+ points, just like the report said.

Although he doesn't like what they offer him in return, it's like it rub the wrong way that's why he just decided to move to Dallas after so many years and many championship with the Warriors.

I think the Warriors have moved on already, not a replacement but they have Butler as well. Another elite player that can help Curry. Unfortunately, last season, after they defeated the second best team in the West in the playoff and playing against the Wolves, Curry got injured and so the end of their run last year. Especially on defense getting older and slower has a HUGE impact on your game! Who else is there to actually take over a game? Kuminga maybe, but he hasn't prove himself yet. I’d agree with you that they’re old, but I wouldn’t agree that they don’t have a shot at the championship. Maybe I just like this team as the underdog, especially since I won my bet when they beat the Celtics for the title. It’s not only about the players, I also like their system.

If Curry hadn’t been injured and they still lost, then maybe I’d be convinced this team has no more chance. But I’ve seen how the Warriors improved when Butler arrived, they even had a winning streak. It was just bad luck that their main star got injured in the playoffs. Their strategy is working before because they have a lot of accurate 3 point shooter that time while they have KD that penetrate the paint or good on mid range jump shot so they are using offense as defense to win most of their game.

Right now, SC is not that accurate compared before but his 3 point shot accuracy is still there. The additional problem now is only him can do a consistent accurate 3 point shot while the rest of his teammates sometimes have a cold shooting percentage.
