I do not see Simmons get out of this and become a better player. Dude has been in the league for years now and still fears shooting threes, in an era where everyone is taking threes. His teammate, Joel Embiid is a big big center, dude is huge, and he takes more threes than Ben Simmons.
I doubt that he would suddenly change his mind and start shooting after he is traded. Don't get me wrong you do not have to shoot threes to be a great player, not like Giannis takes awful lot of threes however you need to have the confidence enough to shoot threes if you are given super empty shots by the other team, other teams literally do not even cover him, or at least start playing PF and a little bit more inside instead of starting from out and trying to get in. His defense is great but his offense became nothing like people expected and his lack of even trying to shoot shows how he is not even willing to improve himself.
I don't know if this is really plausible for Simmons. I believe if he stays in Philadelphia 76ers, he can improve in his future, not only Simmons, but Joel Embiid as well. They are young and still have a great growth potential in the future. Nah, they have been team mates for many years and they didn't progress after they've lost to the eventual champion Toronto 3 years ago. On the contrary, this year was a total fluke, Joel got injured and then Ben choking against the Hawks and then all the blame was put to him that's why he has no longer a relationship to anyone in Philly and wanted to be traded this season. Sixers should be looking at other options for Joel now. And it seems that they believed on "the process" as they've sign him for a bigger contract. It's going to be Joel + ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) whoever they trade Simmons to.

If they believe their current lineup can still bring the team to the playoffs, then maybe it's okay, but they should also consider getting a good ranking as it's very important during the playoffs, you know, home court advantage is a big edge.

Why are we still hoping that he will stay with the 76ers? Simmons and his team do not have a good relationship anymore, he ended it for not coming to the practice and he doesn't want his team to contact him, it only tells that the guy wants out, that's final.

It's going to be Joel + ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) whoever they trade Simmons to. wow, I wasn't aware that the Simmons and Philadelphia 76ers relationship is so critical that way. Well, it's really complicated for a player to have to defend a team that he doesn't want, both are losing, the player who will be limited and the team, because consequently there will be chances of the player not being dedicated and not committing 100% to the team. I'll be curious to know what moves the 76ers will have in relation to Simmons and Embiid. That's Enes Kanter, a Muslim and I know Muslims have a strong religious belief and they abide by it with full discipline. Do we have any Muslim brothers here who can enlighten us about the rules on vaccinations or anything near it? Is it okay as long as there is no blood related issues or as long as it is for necessity and can save more lives?
Look, I'm not a Muslim, but I share the thought that if a person goes to a certain place, you have to respect them, for example, if I go to Japan and to get inside the house I need to take off my shoes, it is a rule of the house owner and we need to respect them. I know people who do not accept blood transfusions because of religion. But in terms of the NBA, I hope that this "friction" or prejudice will end in the best possible way and I believe that it won't harm anyone. (Of course this is my opinion and I hope I haven't offended anyone)

Vaccines were not created before, while the teaching that the Muslims have come from the past centuries, or the time that God become human on earth, so I don't think it should be against the religion getting vaccinated. Not a historian though, I'm also not a Muslim but that is my opinion but that's the simple logic I understood.
Yeah, and there is no transfusion that was made so I think it's still safe to say they didn't transgress the rules of their religion. But still, I want to clarify this with out brother Muslims here. In regards with Andrew Wiggins request for exemption, I cannot find any details about what religion he is. I just want to find out rules about them and see if it's for real. Look, I'm not a Muslim, but I share the thought that if a person goes to a certain place, you have to respect them, for example, if I go to Japan and to get inside the house I need to take off my shoes, it is a rule of the house owner and we need to respect them. I also want to see this end in a good manner. A way where no religion will be hurt because of the decision. There will be people who will misunderstood other players who are claiming it is prohibited in their belief and I hope they can find a way to make them play without going thru a battle of choices just to preserve their job/career.

Indonesian President Joko Widodo is fully vaccinated with a Sinovac vaccine brand. Indonesia is a Muslim Country. We can say that being a Muslim should not be the reason why other Muslims are not willing to be vaccinated. It's clearly allowed to their region especially the Covid-19 vaccine. Simmons is a solid player. He has averaged about 15 points, 7 assists, and 7 rebounds the previous season for the sixers. So if they have to bench him, they will lose some strength of their team. Even Ben Simmons averages 100 points, 100 rebounds, 100 assist per game, you can't force a player that is not interested anymore to play at the team. It's totally pointless to sign a player that already creating a drama in a team. It will affect the whole team's performance. They can let go of that Ben Simmons stats. It's not a total lose to them.

But that is not the real problem here. It's the 76ers management that doesn't want to let him go for he can be a big part of a better trade rather than forcing it now and end up with future picks. Their goal is to win this year and not next year. And Ben Simmons is still signed with them, it's a trade that needs to happen to satisfy his request to be out of the team. If this drama happened earlier then it could've been an easy task to look for a good deal but now it's not, Schoder was a good example of it. It will just be a loss deal if they try to force it which will be regrettable if remembered.

Management really valued Simmons potential since the rookie honed his skill on 76ers and they will not gonna waste it to that sort of drama can be be fixed in a matter of time. The concern is just the feelings of Simmons but they can always work that out for better. They know the potential of Joel + Simmons before and they will just find a way to solve it without flipping any player and start from scratch again. 76ers is a very good team IMHO, the problem is the players individual goal is not allign to each other. They always want the spotlight instead of the trophy.

... Other teams know already the situation, 76ers considers Simmons a problem that's what they are trading him, so they are just playing their cards right, they will wait until the 76ers has no option but to let Simmons go in exchange of a player that is not as good as Simmons.
Whatever team is interested in signing Ben has to act faster than the rest. They cannot wait for his trade value to tank until the very last day of the trade deadline. I'm thinking perhaps all teams should just ignore any offer from the Sixers and just watch them go down since they have a problematic player. You don't want to disturb an opponent when they are fighting among themselves hehehe.

Honestly if I were the sixers, I'd say he is up for trade for picks. Call every teams front office see if they want him and whoever comes in with the best picks package you take. Cut cord and move on.

The best thing to do so both can move on, the longer they keep Simmons, they are the ones who are losing here as their season chances to win might suffer. The decision is easy, they should not wait to get the best offer based on their expectation as they have waited too long and Simmons is not doing anything to contribute to the team.

Simmons is no longer interested and Sixers needs to work on it and accept it, trading him to any team who can offer decently instead of keeping him and lose his value. There's nothing left for this kid. He is no longer interested in playing alongside with his current squad. Much easier to call everyone just like what wheelz1200 said, better to call everyone who shows there desire with Simmons and study all the offer the best one, win and move on.

Actually, Simmons is already losing his value because 76ers bids are higher compared to the other team's offer than could potential do a trade, but the most important part the 76ers should not ignore is they are not getting compensated for their decision, instead, Simmons will continue to his salary while they spend.

But this guy is taking the initiative. “If a guy’s not getting vaccinated because of his religion, I feel like we’re in a time where the religion and science has to go together,” Kanter said, via Rolling Stone. “I’ve talked to a lot of religious guys, I’m like, ‘It saves people’s lives, so what is more important than that?'” That's Enes Kanter, a Muslim and I know Muslims have a strong religious belief and they abide by it with full discipline. Do we have any Muslim brothers here who can enlighten us about the rules on vaccinations or anything near it? Is it okay as long as there is no blood related issues or as long as it is for necessity and can save more lives? Vaccines were not created before, while the teaching that the Muslims have come from the past centuries, or the time that God become human on earth, so I don't think it should be against the religion getting vaccinated. Not a historian though, I'm also not a Muslim but that is my opinion but that's the simple logic I understood. Enes is not just a Muslim, he is a quite religious person as well. Dude follows a very hardcore Islamic cult as well, think of Scientology but for Islam, and he is member of that cult. So, he is not just a regular Muslim, you can see the vaccination numbers and odds in all other Muslim nations if you wonder and see that it is not that bad, sure it is still not great neither since most of them are poor and getting vaccination was not easy for them but the rate is not bad at all, which shows that Muslims do get vaccinated. However this proves that even the hardcore, pray 5 times a day, fast for a whole month even when you are playing a game, and so forth type of extreme islamists still do get vaccines, why? Because it saves lives, why would anyone be against something that saves lives? So the question here is not about Islam or Christianity or any other religion, the people who do not get the vaccination believes it may hurt them, they are very wrong it doesn't hurt them but helps them, but the reason is not religious, it is based on fear that they may die because of the vaccination.

If that's the case then we can say that Wiggins is just using his religion not to get vaccinated because he personally does not want medicine to enter his body. And with the denial of his request, I think it's a fair thing to do as he is an athlete, he has close contact every time the team plays and in practices as well, it's just right for the organization to do what's best for everyone, not for someone only.

I also want to see this end in a good manner. A way where no religion will be hurt because of the decision. There will be people who will misunderstood other players who are claiming it is prohibited in their belief and I hope they can find a way to make them play without going thru a battle of choices just to preserve their job/career.

Yes, right, I also agree that Ben Simmons has no interest in continuing in the Philadelphia 76ers. For this, the team already has to carry out some planning so that everything works out for both of them. So, that's an interesting point, before signing the contract maybe Kanter or someone else didn't read some specific clause about it? I believe there have been several Muslim players in the NBA, I believe this is not the first time.

So excited the NBA is starting up again next week and with a matchup of the Nets and Lakers to kick things off. I’d be on a plane to Staples Center if I thought all the starters would be playing. I still don’t see a TV listing attached to the game, so I might not even be able to watch. I’m sure ESPN will be airing highlights but if there is a way to watch it live, let me know!
