https://www.nba.com/news/lamarcus-aldridge-to-reportedly-sign-with-netsThis is why we cannot expect too much from him. Nets will give him the minutes but I don't think they will let him stay for a long time for the said reason. Maybe this will be his last year and he just considers having a ring before he fully retires and just rests. Other teams though should still be careful in defending him, he sure could stretch the floor with his shooting range which we just witnessed earlier. Well, i agree with that! Does anyone have a health feedback from LaMarcus Aldridge from his last game!!? Is he still okay? Does he have the ability to play during the regular season and playoffs cautiously!!?

Anyway, the Nets are looking good on their first game though it's just preseason, at least we see some names that are willing to contribute for the team to win, and that huge win is a statement that they are ready to battle the Lakers.

Hmm, yeah, that has a nexus. I hope nothing serious happens to him, I was surprised with his retirement, but I was also happy and anxious to his return to the NBA. Aldridge even with this health problem is still an important player, because he can make a difference in your team.

I think he doesn't have a health problem anymore, otherwise, the Nets would not sign him as it's like putting his life in danger while playing for the team, and it's not a win-win situation for both. He maybe had a condition, but with the advanced medication now, I think it will be able to manage and he can still be a big piece of a contributor to the team.

Yeah preseason is nothing more than a coach running new sets and analyzing his bench depth. Defense, rebounding etc is light during the preseason. I don't expect much out of tonight but still good to see basketball back!

We can just looked at how easy he decide to retire because of that health issue. It means that was critical and dangerous. Even doctors cleared that LaMarcus Aldridge is fit to play, the Nets knows that he's still at risk. Limited minutes should be fine to Aldridge to minimize the risks of being in a much worst condition. Of course they don't want to think of that worst scenario but just want to make sure everything will be ok.

Being allowed to play doesn't mean Aldridge is 100% healthy. If we will take a bit of research about his condition, there is really an issue with his irregular heartbeat since then. He first experienced it on his 2006-07 rookie season in Portland Trail Blazers, another in 2011, with the Spurs in 2017, and the last one that makes him retire for good because of being worried, this year was last April. There's no advanced medication to control irregular heartbeat as it happens unexpectedly. He doesn't even undergo an operation or any surgery. He just rests for a long and everything becomes normal that's why doctors allowed him to play. I'm more worried about his position as defender. It's more physical than doing a post-ups. I know he already knows that. I'm seeing him more focused at his mid-range shots instead. That's his specialty in offense in his Spurts stint.

Yes, he is cleared to play by the doctors, but who knows, all we can do is hope that he will be ok. Maybe he can get few touches every game and going to his favourite spot, a mid range jumper, rebounds. Probably will make the best of this season to chase his first ring with the Nets.

So, I was surprised as I saw Bradley playing for the Warriors. Here are the updates about why he is playing with them and I will just quote them. https://sports.yahoo.com/warriors-steph-curry-high-praise-231613731.htmlThe Warriors signed Bradley to a non-guaranteed roster spot before the start of training camp.
Bradley will get his first chance to show why he deserves Golden State’s 15th roster spot on Monday night against the Trail Blazers in the preseason opener. There were three of them who worked out for the Warriors, Isaiah Thomas, former GSW Quinn Cook, and Avery Bradley. I thought the higher chances for the 15th spot will be for Cook for obvious reasons that's why I am shocked they needed a defensive player like Bradley.

@ingiltere I have an idea about a new poll before the season starts. How about if we agree or disagree about the new rule of the NBA? Shooters charging to defenders after a hesitation move will be called either an "offensive foul" or "no call". More details here. https://www.nbcsports.com/bayarea/warriors/steph-curry-expects-confusion-start-foul-baiting-rule-changeIf anyone is watching the Trail Blazers vs GSW game now, Steph Curry just tested it at the three point line and the referee didn't react at all. No call even with a lot of contact and Steph was looking for it. I think they will be strict on this rule now to avoid shooters from taking advantage of it way far. My answer: Agree. Although I want the refs to have a better look at it occasionally when there's a lot of contact because the defender could abuse this too.

Nunn's excessive dribbling at times could become a serious problem during the regular season. He's got the skills but he needs to work more on his floor management. ~
Don't worry about Nunn, what we see in the preseason might be different in the regular season, the starters did not play and Nunn is not a starter. He has his style, and he is actually good back in Miami, so hopefully, he is 100% now and will bring a big contribution to the success of the Lakers team. Right, nothing has change on Nunn's style of playing, as coach Vogel said, it was just a test and he will rotate more player entering the regular season. So nothing to be taken seriously in this game, the second stringers did have some time on this game though and it was good for them. ^ I don't think it's anything to worry too much about. Nunn won't be a starter and it's only the preseason. Coaches play and have a look at the bench players at these times. So Nunn's playstyle should not be a problem for the team.~ I don't know why you're all trying to downplay what I said. Yes it is just a preseason game and yes he won't be a regular starter but you have to understand the main point of my post which is him spending too much time on the ball. If the time comes that he will lead the second squad and he still dribbles too much, what do you think is the impact of that on the result of the game? I'm trying to see where he could still improve but it seems you're all content with how he is now.

Just noticed there were preseason games going on tonight with the sports ticker showing the scores during another match I was watching. And it was good to see the stars are coming out early on for these matches as I had seen Lillard and Nurkic putting up points in theirs during the opening quarter. Also some good news for the NBA getting in more on cryptocurrency with the 76ers having some additions of badges on their uniforms for the start of the season: https://www.coindesk.com/business/2021/09/22/76ers-become-second-nba-team-to-ink-crypto-ad-patch-deal/

Curry is know to abuse this before, so we will see if referee are going or a "no call", or worst offensive foul on him.

This is a good change IMO, things are getting better with the new rule as there are players who are really good at it although they are the one who initiate the contact. It's one of the major improvement to make the league more interesting, I also hope that the flopping will have a bigger penalty as it's a disgrace to the league.

I would say good call by the NBA to have this new rule implement as it is being abused by offensive players. I also agree with the flopping, it's getting ridiculous, many great players now are know for taking advantage of this one as well. Referee should look closely at those flops and maybe can implement like reviewing it. So we can go back to the old school of playing, no flopping but pure tough defence.

This topic is the trend right now since Stephen Curry's trick doesn't have any call after that trick because they already changed the rules regarding this kind of trick. They should also give some serious foul to whoever tries to trick the ref by flopping which most of the time doesn't really praise-worthy. Because It is unfair for the players who don't even think about doing those hilarious things. When they are caught in the act when we see the reply, you can really see that they're doing it on purpose. Just someone who uses every trick in the book to get that win.

Uhmm what Curry did wasn't flopping. He was foul-baiting though it's one of the trick to fool the referee. This kind of trick has been abused by Trae Young, Luka, and Curry. That kind of trick wasn't supposed to be called as a defensive foul because the defender was just stationary mid-air and the offensive player will deliberately make an unnecessary contact, thus making it looks like a blocking foul, when it's supposed to be an offensive foul. I hope the NBA will be very critical to that kind of trick. While flopping doesn't have much for a penalty because NBA players could actually pay for it, especially the superstars.

I agree that the referee will have to look closer, if the shooter is going on the defender's body and the defender is going vertical or shall I say straight after the shooter, then it should be a foul on the shooter. Curry is know to abuse this before, so we will see if referee are going or a "no call", or worst offensive foul on him. But the one earlier is a clean mistake from Curry's defender. He's really good at attracting the contact, for sure, Steve Kerr knows the new rule, but he is not convinced that this one is part of it. He smiles while talking to the ref. But I agree with this new rule as players is no longer can initiate contacts, Young and Harden are really good at doing this one to get the refs attention, if the refs will call offensive foul, we will see more adjustment in the players side, they won't take the risk of doing this old trick.
