This is absolutely hilarious!  Cheesy Grin

Dwight is super excited to play again with the Lakers and the result was satisfying for the Nets  Grin Grin.

Thankfully it's just a preseason game where you can actually do something like this to adjust in the upcoming season games.

I think Dwight showed exactly what the Lakers were missing last season.  I don't think enough people give him credit for his role with the championship team.  He makes the Lakers such a better team by giving them a dominant presence down low.  AD is more of a finesse player as much as they want him to be dominant.  Dwight makes guys regret being near the hoop when he's dunking.  Like Shawn Kemp or a lesser Shaq.  I think with this squad, if healthy, the finals won't be more than 5 games.  AD being healthy is a big question mark though.  Luckily with Dwight now, they might not even need him.
Many sees Dwight right now as a veteran player and can't help that much because of his age but he is an underrated big and lets not forget how dominant he is when he is still in the Magic. He is an all-star when he is Orlando and he brought Magic to NBA Finals too against Lebron and the Cavs and they won a championship I think (correct me if I'm wrong).
That was in 2009 where Howard's Team beat Lebron in a 4-2 series.
Howard and James were the top performers in their respective team and Howard is just a monster as he is a double double machine that time.

Unfortunately, in the 2009 NBA Finals, the Magic only won 1 game against the Lakers.

Nunn's excessive dribbling at times could become a serious problem during the regular season. He's got the skills but he needs to work more on his floor management. Meanwhile, it's nice to see Aldridge still got that mid-range jumper. He won't be able to play a lot but that J could be very helpful every time he's called.

I remember that well but Howard don't have that much help, unlike with Kobe which both Gasul and Odom was there to help him to lift the team, they form a good Big 3 back then, also the time when Melo is really hot back @ Denver.

So much memories during that season, LeBron was the leading scorer if I remember it right, while Kobe was the next, then followed by Howard.

Did you all remember Howard won the Slam dunk with that superman cape.. Grin

That's the difference, Howards does not have a superstar playing beside him, so as Lebron.
Gasul was pretty good that time and Odom as well so it's easy for the Lakers to beat the Magic.

About Melo, I guess this is the time when he was playing with Iverson?

Would would not remember that, he won the Slam Dunk contest and I think the costume was a big factor on that win.  Grin

Don't worry about Nunn, what we see in the preseason might be different in the regular season, the starters did not play and Nunn is not a starter. He has his style, and he is actually good back in Miami, so hopefully, he is 100% now and will bring a big contribution to the success of the Lakers team.

Aldridge by the way does not lose his skills, but his stamina, let's see.

We cannot expect that they will perform all their best on pre-season since for sure they reserve their energy for the upcoming regular season and its really bad for them to give their best since this might cause a big trouble to him if he get serious injury.

I also noticed that even back in his Miami days, but it's not gonna be a big problem for the Lakers because he'll most probably be in the 2nd squad, and the Lakers 2nd squad could better use of Nunn's style of play.
I'm kinda excited on what could the Lakers do this season, as well as the healthy Nets. I'm also looking forward for the Nets revenge against the Bucks in the coming playoffs.

They will certainly make revenge, they lose because they are undermanned but they'll try to be healthy and face the Bucks in the ECF if Bucks are lucky to qualify again. As revenge, I think the Nets could sweep the Bucks as they almost did that to them if Irving was not injured.

I hope to see that, but the Nets have to stay healthy, especially Irving because despite he is a problem sometimes, we cannot deny that he contributes big time to the success of the team. Harden will always be a contributor also, but he can't contribute well if he is not healthy, just like what we saw in the ECF when the Nets bet them and Harden was not able to contribute his usual numbers.

AD and Dwight have different playstyle if you will watch how they are playing. AD is more of a PF position that can shot outside while Dwight is a big that can dominate inside the paint - more like a Shaq with a bit of a skill in three point shots Cheesy. Releasing Dwight last season and giving him to 76ers is Lakers biggest regret because they don't have any reliable big to fulfill AD's job when defending and Drummond can't do it obviously. Now that he is back alongside other veteran all star players, I think that they have a shot to win a championship this season. That is only if they are healthy at least all throughout the playoffs.
Yes, Dwight Howard is already 35 years old and that includes him in the team of experienced and "old" players lol

Howard is still athletic and can help the Lakers in another way, with his experience perhaps helping AD or DeAndre Jordan how to play like C better.

As I said before, AD and Dwight Howard are different players, AD is faster, shoots better and has good ball control, Howard is more dominant and has a "better profile" to play in C.

Nunn needs to learn more from Rondo, moving players should be acknowledge right away.

But for sure it will be change in due time, LeBron and Westbrook always wanted to have the ball the quicker the possible,
both stars don't want to  waste time when executing plays.

Just like how Rondo works when he's inside the court, he make sure that he added good numbers of assist and scores.

That's hard to guarantee, maybe Harden and Durant will stay healthy, but I'm not sure with Irving as he is so fragile, I watch him many times in the playoffs and he can easily be injured. I saw him injured in Cavaliers, in Celtics, and in the Nets, so it's really hard to tell. Well, let's just hope but based on his injury history, let's just be ready of what could possibly happen, I'm sure the Nets also knows that.

Right, nothing has change on Nunn's style of playing, as coach Vogel said, it was just a test and he will rotate more player entering the regular season. So nothing to be taken seriously in this game, the second stringers did have some time on this game though and it was good for them.

Aldridge by the way does not lose his skills, but his stamina, let's see.
I do agree, but still early, for sure he did a lot of trainings as well to keep his up to par specially with his stamina.

Aldridge by the way does not lose his skills, but his stamina, let's see.

Sign of aging lol  Grin.
Not just aging but also his medical condition. If we do remember he retired already because of a medical condition.
Quote
Aldridge retired in April after experiencing an irregular heartbeat in the last of the five games he played for the Nets. Aldridge was diagnosed with Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome — an abnormality that can cause a rapid heartbeat — as a rookie in 2007.
https://www.nba.com/news/lamarcus-aldridge-to-reportedly-sign-with-nets
This is why we cannot expect too much from him. Nets will give him the minutes but I don't think they will let him stay for a long time for the said reason.
Maybe this will be his last year and he just considers having a ring before he fully retires and just rests.
Other teams though should still be careful in defending him, he sure could stretch the floor with his shooting range which we just witnessed earlier.

^ I don't think it's anything to worry too much about. Nunn won't be a starter and it's only the preseason. Coaches play and have a look at the bench players at these times. So Nunn's playstyle should not be a problem for the team. I always liked Aldridge and his abilities. That guy is a good player and performs whenever he is relied upon. Let's see if he gets the minutes this season.

Dude probably got scared of the thought that he'll lose millions for refusing to get vaccinated. His anti-vax fans and others that stood by him when he's still against are definitely disappointed by his action but they don't fill his bank account so there hehehe.

Is Kyrie the only notable player that's still not vaccinated?

Bradley Beal as well, he hasn't taken any vaccine yet and he also has some reasons that doesn't make sense.

So it's good that finally Wiggins received his vaccine otherwise he will forfeited half of the game in this regular season and potentially lose millions. His decision is right, and those who supports him are sure disappointed but what the hell they don't bring food for the table for Wiggins family. So now GSW management has a peace of mind knowing that they are now 100% fully vaccinated.

Probably. $350,000 per game. That will be half of his salary for this year if he ever continued being a stubborn dude. He has his reasons but he is part of the contract with the NBA so I guess all he can do is abide by it. They do respect his decision but this one is to prevent losing more lives so it should a winning situation at both ends.

I think Bradley Beal is also not yet vaccinated but there is not much of a problem since D.C. don't have the same protocols as New York and San Francisco so he will just sit on those games. Although, that will be a big punch to the team if he misses those games and lose because of his negligence.
^(Oh! btc_angela said it, sorry I am a slow writer.)
Kyrie though will lose $14m of his salary if he keeps on refusing to get his vaccine.

Yeah those fines are pretty hefty when they don't comply.  The covid implications this year are still going to be huge.  Not as much in baseball or football, basketball lives and dies with one or two players on each team.  Does anyone know if the quarantine requirements will be the same with them being vaccinated?

Many sees Dwight right now as a veteran player and can't help that much because of his age but he is an underrated big and lets not forget how dominant he is when he is still in the Magic. He is an all-star when he is Orlando and he brought Magic to NBA Finals too against Lebron and the Cavs and they won a championship I think (correct me if I'm wrong).
That was in 2009 where Howard's Team beat Lebron in a 4-2 series.
Howard and James were the top performers in their respective team and Howard is just a monster as he is a double double machine that time.
https://www.basketball-reference.com/playoffs/2009-nba-eastern-conference-finals-magic-vs-cavaliers.html

Unfortunately, in the 2009 NBA Finals, the Magic only won 1 game against the Lakers.
https://www.landofbasketball.com/playoffs_series/2009_lakers_vs_magic.htm
It is one of the most useless "what ifs" in the NBA history. That was a year when Lebron was a great player, and Kobe was in his peak as well so they could have met in the finals that season. Everyone kept wondering who would win but Kobe had odom, artest, and most importantly pau gasol on his team whereas Lebron had like mo Williams as his second best player, so it was clear that Lakers would have won.

I know basketball doesn't work like that, anything could happen but even the fact that Orlando managed to beat that Cavs and yet lost to Lakers in 5 shows that how Cavs would have been probably even worse, maybe get swept who knows. I still would have rather watched Lebron vs Kobe finals just once, even if it was a sweep I would still love to watch it, and if it went to 7 games and maybe even overtime on 7th game.. boy oh boy, finals that would have been talked for decades.
