By the way, Chris Bosh also retired because he had disease right!!? Did Bosh have a heart problems or something like that?
He has some blood clot problem and that continuing the path of basketball might kill him. Heres a recent article from Wall Street Journal and how he's enjoying his life from now on. I've known Chris as a coder from past interviews I saw on TV and I wouldn't be surprised if that's the thing he's into right now. In regards to Aldridge I think his doctor wouldn't release him if he's not that capable of playing or he himself doubt his own body.

Games do look better without these things, Harden may end up with 10 ppg this year without this rule Cheesy lol. I believe that the offense got way too much attention these past years, even as much as decade and we should be seeing a lot better defensive rules implemented in order to make the teams defend again. We have seen people with 30+ ppg, and many 50+ point games thanks to lax rules on offense and strict rules on defense making the game stop constantly.

However it needs to be basically a great way to bring defense back into the game, without defense the games became like 137-133 and that's all-star game levels, we need to calm the offense down a bit and bring the importance of defense a bit more, it stops both the game being constantly stopping for free throws which lowers the care, it also increases the viewing fun as well. Do not get me wrong the more offense got important the less viewership NBA got, so they didn't do this because they wanted to, they did this so they could get some viewers back.

Preface: I know it's pre season

Now.  The Knicks are back!! Was fun watching that game even though it was just preseason.  I know they aren't a "top" team but from where they were these past 20 years I can finally watch with a semi expectation of them possibly winning any given game.  Be interesting to see how kemba holds up through the year.  They finally have depth so hopefully they don't have to over use him.

Last year was the comeback year for the Knicks, early on they are not even playoff hopefuls, but after the all star break, they have like a winning streak, 7-8 games if my memory serves me right. Then they climb up the ladder even goes as high as 4th spot in the East. Randle lead the team, they just fell short in the first round against Trae Young. But the "unruly" crowd is back, Spike Lee is there, lol, who wouldn't forget this die hard fans, for those sneakers head - as Mars Blackmon.  Grin. So let's hope that Knicks will continue their resurgence this season.

Ahhh...  The Stephen Curry effect...  I blame analytics but I guess all you can really do is be mad that shooters have gotten so much better that it makes sense to shoot from half court now as opposed to running an offensive play to try and get an open midrange jumper.  People always say how Michael Jordan would score 60+ per game in today's NBA, but I sort of think the opposite.  His mid-range fadeaway move (his bread and butter) would be discouraged by coaches today.  He'd like be forced to shoot more 3 pointers and would have the lane completely closed off so he couldn't drive.  I think you'd see his fg% drop as a result, and with that his usage rate.

Really makes me appreciate Shaquille O'Neal and be glad I had the opportunity to see him play in person.

I wonder if this effect will decrease in strength given the recent rule changes about drawing fouls.

I think that if people can be a bit more physical with the 3 point shooters the league could potentially go back to the more post-up mode.

Don't mind it either way. Basketball is basketball.

Jordan would run amuck in today's game.  Iso, with these defenders.  Outside of 5-10 people in the NBA nobody can guard anymore.  Imagine not having to drive in the paint with Charles Oakley and Anthony Mason waiting to mug you.  I'm glad Jordan got to play when he did because it makes it that more amazing.  When people say he isn't the GOAT and mention someone from today's game I chuckle.  Not even worth the explanation.

^^ Jordan would average 50 ppg this era, lol, it become soft and hopefully this new rules against offensive players will really help the league balance again because it went from defense to offense oriented play and then the era of 3 points shot. Not saying it's bad, but as fans we wanted to see some hard nose defense as well, hard foul and trash talking. Players are becoming soft, step back 3's and when players goes to the basketball, they flop.

Or maybe more.  Cheesy
Remember they also implemented the "hand check rule".
If no one will touch Michael then they would be left in the dumpsters or he could just jump and fade away and the defender won't have any time to react.
That winning shot that he made against Utah Jazz defender Bryon Russell is the evidence.
MJ pushed him a bit to gain some space before he can even put a hand on his body.
Now it's different, when an offensive player is facing you, touching him is not allowed which means "space" and shooters use that bit of space for an opportunity to shoot especially players with a quick release like Steph and Dame.

This Dunk looks like in the era of Vince Carter where players don't fail to give us what we are looking for in the NBA games. Man, he just doesn't care about how he will fall, it's all about how he dunks the ball to the ring. JOHN COLLINS has sent some good messages to their opponents in the upcoming season.

Speaking of the effect of 3-point shots today, I don't know if you remember this but just take a look back at how these 3 players thought of the same thing by positioning themselves outside the arc waiting for the ball (link). It's funny because anyone of them could have chosen an easy layup or an open dunk to tie and extend for an OT. Just an unbelievably dumb play Grin

Saw that. Allen was shock as hell afterwards. It's too high, his max arm stretch won't even reach it.  Grin
About the Hawks versus Cavaliers game, that scared the living shit out of me. Why do they use Garland and Sexton for 30+ minutes in a preseason game?
Don't they try to take care of their stars as much as possible before the season starts or they don't consider them as stars?
Looking at statistics, only 10 players put minutes on the floor, where are the other guys? I see a bunch of players in the bench and yet they were not used.
Sorry, I am just worried they might lose roleplayers in this process.

They don't care because they are not going to the playoffs anyway, they can play as much as they want because that would help them have a good start before the regular season, and hopefully, this team will not end up the worst team in the season. Don't worry, they are still young and not prone to injury, those who are prone to injury should rest, not these young fellas.

If he had the chance to have more time on the NBA floor it feels like he'd might followed LeBron at that time just like Wade did at Cleveland but it didn't flourish as everyone expecting. Not only mentally but more like physically but I'm hoping he'd do some extensive rehabilitation so he bounce back again on the floor.

Don't they try to take care of their stars as much as possible before the season starts or they don't consider them as stars?

Feels like they don't and feel sorry for them when the season starts and the role players are that exhausted. They should get use of the bench players or the rookies, somehow that's the tradition.

Not only mentally but more like physically but I'm hoping he'd do some extensive rehabilitation so he bounce back again on the floor.

The fact that he retires already, I believe that sports is not good for him anymore, he need to relax and focus on other things, besides, money is not a problem if he was able to manage it as he has some good contract when he was still playing in the NBA.

The health issue was really serious.

To be honest, this was on MP Jr. the dude just literally waited at the corner 3 for a pass when he was the nearest man to the rim and could've gone for the layup, it was definitely a dumb play, everyone's taking threes by now, sure this may be the effect of 3-point shots today, but the game has changed, even if you're a big man, it is important to develop your shooting, it's not a bad thing though it leads to poor decisions like what we witnessed from these 3 nuggets players, they're actually good, not a nuggets fan but I saw them play for quite a while now, Campazzo is a great point guard, MPJ is a productive player along with Monte Morris.

Thanks for this informations!
Hmm... I didn't know Bosh has a blood illness. I figured he has some heart problem, or something similar like Aldridge

I'm wondering, wouldn't there be an opportunity for Bosh to be medicated with some kind of anticoagulant? I don't know if this would be plausible, because if it were, the doctors would already treat him

Pre-season games are going on but I'm disappointed not to see the main players of big teams in those games. But I understand of course that they don't want to cause those players to get injured right before the start of the new season. For example, we had a Lakers - Nets game a few days ago. But none of the players like Lebron, Durant, Harden and Irving played in this game. It was still a high-scoring game though. I'm just fully focused on the start of the season now.

It looks more of a prime Blake Griffin when he was still with the Clippers with a pass coming from Chris Paul. In any case the dunk really looks amazing, I remember one announcer will said, "dunking with no disregard to human life", Lol. John Collins can fly, and yes, this is a message on what is the next things to come with the Hawks, they have a high flyer. And Trae Young was very ecstatic about that crazy dunk.

I just hope that Coach Malone didn't say anything bad to the team after this play from his players Cheesy.
TBH, this is one of the dumbest plays that I've seen on the NBA. Maybe their reason is that it would be a better ending if they will shoot a three than going for a 2 Cheesy. Can we blame Steph Curry with this too because of what he did to the league Cheesy.

Kidding aside, the absence of Murray with the team really affected the team by a lot. Yes we can say that Campazzo is a great point guard and a passer but the effect of Murray being out can be felt by the team. Right now, Murray is still in rehab and currently no timetable as per NBA but I hope that he will be back as soon as possible.
