I don't know what you guys been watching, but from what I watched, they all suck and that is obvious from the summer league. Remember, most of these kids are playing against each other, and mostly g-league players as well, not real nba players. I think they all suck, yes but that would by NBA standard not be the standard that should be set for a rookie coming into the league, you really don't expect them to have it all figure out, there is a lot learning, unlearning and relearning ahead of them, but going by the basic bar that should be set for rookies and major all season long bench players I really don't think they were bad at all, to be very honest. None 3 of the players from any team in the Summer league are going into any team's lineup all together they are literally just bits and pieces that are meant to compliment the franchise that chose them, not bring them the championship next season. Yeah, probably one of those drafts that there are not much hype on the names, assuming that in the last couple of years, we have rookies coming in with great names. So I gues it has to balance itself for this year as there are no rookies that we want to follow or at least try to see what they can do in the NBA. And most likely it was overshadow by again Bronny (as much as we don't want to discussed a 55th draft pick). But he was so polarizing enough that we don't look at other names in the rookie draft maybe top 1-5 but still there are not that recognizable going into the NBA. Although we don't see any much interesting this summer league but still regular season is long way to show case the talents of those rookies. Provably we could able to see a good talents since there's so many of them and maybe there's hidden gem among them. Media focus to much on Bronny that's why maybe we just didn't notice the performance of other player. So lets just see if there would be a exciting rookie to watch this season aside from Bronny. But expect that there would be a lot more hype on Lakers since since many fans expect to see something great seeing Bronny to play alongside with his father.

Sam Hauser also agreed on a 4-year contract extension with the Boston Celtics at $45 million dollars. Wow! One of the best shooters that I've seen and I think the Celtics will be stronger offensively with him. https://x.com/wojespn/status/1815053642606444631He is a good shooter, so he deserves this kind of contract. With his limited minutes, I think this is just enough, but if the team wants some 3-point shooting while others are struggling, they can put him in. I think his problem is just his defense; he is not a good defender, so he is a liability in that aspect. However, with that kind of shooting percentage, I think it's right to invest in him.

A career 42.2% in 3-point area and shot 42.4% last season. He has been a good 2nd unit hence, they gave him this kind of contract. With how expensive the Celtics are right now, this is kind of surprising that they will give this huge contract to a role player. I mean you have 2 players who have a contract of more than $300M in the next 3-5 years. I believe they're making a gamble right now since with the new CBA, their draft pick will be affected because they're expensive.
That's the thing with Boston Celtics right now, they have every right to keep the team after winning their 1st championship with Tatum and Brown. But it's not a two player, they will have to sign up most of it's role player too, including Hauser and he had games as well wherein he contributed in offense as he is one of the best shooters we have in the league right now. However, they are now over the salary cap and so they will have to pay the luxury tax right now. So it's really hard to maintain this kind of money specially if the team will not have a good performance. So it's really a gamble for them to pay their players with good salary this season.

Has anyone else been actually following the NBA Summer league pretty much ? I mean watching these rookies games (not Bronny James please), I think despite this draft class being considered as a very weak draft class, I've actually been impressed by what I've seen from the lads so far, especially the top 10 picks, I know they still have a lot to prove, because the NBA regular season is going to be a whole different level of ball game, but then I'm opined that this draft class might have actually just been underrated by the media and NBA analysts.
I honestly don't find the performance of the top 10 players of this draft impressive. Risacher, Holland II, Dillingham, and Williams are really performing well, but the rest of them are pretty mediocre in the summer league. Look at Sarr, he's performing very poorly even though he was selected with the second pick of the draft. I guess at the early stage if we are willing to bet on the rookie of the year future we can find some value on the odds. As you can see, it seems like the odds are just based on the raking of draft pick. I have not actually followed the games a lot, but who do you think will win the ROY next season? odds Player Odds Zach Edey +600 Alexandre Sarr +700 Zaccharie Risacher +800 Dalton Knecht +900 Stephon Castle +1000 Reed Sheppard +1100 Zach Edey is the only player I’ve ever heard of before the draft. I’d imagine that probably gives him an edge on things like rookie of the year betting, but it is a bit premature. I imagine once the season starts and we get a few games in, it will become clear who the best rookie in the pack is. But if you are betting, this is the right time, as the odds are going to change or drop if a player is playing well during the regular season. Others are saying that Zach Edey isn't playing well, so this is getting unpredictable. Some might see value in this, and personally, if I believe that he will win the ROY, I would take +600 all day.

Agree to that, he deserves to have it a secure contract and be on the team, just like what you point out he's really a good shooter and his percentage if giving that minutes he really can provide good outside threats, though he needs to work with his defense if he aiming to be more useful, being a two-player type of a player will give his name more value, as we know that shooting advantage mostly being use by the coach especially if you are playing with the defending title holder who will try to repeat that same acheivements.

His role is probably like Kyle Korver who is also a great 3 point shooter. Judging on his salary, I think they have close to Sam Hauser as the contract now have already increase compared to the last 5 years. https://hoopshype.com/player/kyle-korver/salary/So if Sam Hauser will continue to be contributing and of course his health is very important, he might still get a good contract but his amount would not increase significantly due to his limited role.

Bronny is at Lakers all thanks to his father, nothing more than that. This isn't technically a deserved draft as a result. LeBron will probably play with his son for only 1 season and then retire. This is my humble opinion on this of course. After that, I would really like to see Bronny having improved his game already and continuing to be a part of NBA. It is a tough work though so I hope he works hard from now to the end of next season.

Dinwiddie with Kyrie again, and with Luka too. They had been teammates before so I think chemistry won't be a problem. They are piling up guards and I think this is all to match the Celtics again if ever they go as far as the Finals one more time. It is a good addition since they don't know when Kyrie Irving will be back from his hand injury. Luka cannot do it all, Klay Thompson is not a ball handler so I think the Mavs did a great job here to fill the hole of a missing point guard.
Yeah, good for Dinwiddie, at least he can stretch his career for another year as he is familiar with the Dallas Mavericks and I think Spencer can still ball, he was not just given time by the Lakers when they got him in the second half of the season Perhaps he was absorb to be another scorer for the team. He has that experience already bouncing from team to team and there are moments in his career that he become the go to guy like when he was in the Nets to provide scoring. And looking at the agency and how the Mavericks is building, they could be running for another finals appearance this upcoming season. Spencer Dinwiddie is also a great crypto fan. I mean in any other place if we were talking about NBA and him signing to Dallas, I would not mention this, but since we are at bitcointalk forums, I like to think that people would love to hear that. Dude puts all of his savings into bitcoin, he is a safe investor so he doesn't go for smaller cap alts or tokens like that, some people here put up thousands to meme projects and all, he isn't that kind of guy. He just buys and accumulates bitcoin, and maybe he even decided to move to ETF, who knows? In the end, he is one of us and seeing him win a title would be something great, I would love to see that, he seems like a guy who would be quite fun to talk bitcoin about. In the end, he is putting up millions, and while 1 year contract is never good for an NBA player, he will be making good amount, and if they do end up winning the title and if he helps, then I am sure that they are going to give him a full max offer as well. He is the scoring type that helps this team, Doncic and Kyrie could be defended well at times, locked down, and Spencer could help during those times, he never had that much trouble having the ball in hands, so he could be good.

Dinwiddie is definitely the most crypto friendly guy in the NBA. He even tried to tokenize his contract and offer it to crypto investors but was halted by regulators. A shame he’s on the downside of his career and not super popular. I look forward to the day we get bonafide superstars openly supporting Bitcoin.

But let's wait until the season starts but I am not expecting a lot on him as he's still a rookie and likely he won't get a lot of playing and when he does, for sure that many will say that it's because of his dad again.
Anyway, NBA and WNBA going to Amazon Prime for 11-years of deal instead of TNT. Prime Video reaches a landmark 11-year streaming deal with the NBA and the WNBA

Steph Curry told reporters that he along with LeBron and Kevin Durant recreated the legendary Bird, Magic, & Jordan Dream Team photo. I hope it comes out good and not corny. I’m pretty sure that Steph will be Magic holding up the 3 fingers, but I’m not sure who will be the other two. LeBron being super corny could easily be Bird, but I assume he’s going to want to be Jordan in the photo. That leaves KD giving the thumbs up? Anyone else want to take a guess who will be who? TNT looking to sue the NBA now. Their statement: Interesting, let's see how NBA is going to respond on this because it seems that the deal was already stamped with Amazon Prime. But with what I can tell, most fans are going to boycott once the season starts through Prime. It feels so different if it's not with TNT.

But with what I can tell, most fans are going to boycott once the season starts through Prime. It feels so different if it's not with TNT. I get it, it's all about the money, but why does everything need to move to a streaming service these days? A household already spends a ton on just basic cable each month and internet. Now you start making people have to pay for subscriptions to 2 or 3 different services each month just to be able to watch sports and the bills start to get ridiculous. On top of that, I live in the country and my internet isn't unlimited, so if I were to purchase a streaming service in order to watch sports I am going to spend even more money because my internet bill will go through the roof on overages for streaming sporting events. The world is becoming too greedy plain and simple. Entertainers make way too much money and are valued more than the people that actually matter. Doctors, teachers, police, firemen, nurses, and those that actually provide valuable services to the world. We as a people need to completely boycott these streaming services and let people know we don't need or want them, but that will never happen. Teams of all sports need a wake up call. You used to be able to take your kids to a game and spend $100-200 for 3 people total. That included parking, tickets, food, and a snack. Now a 3 person group taking a night out to go to a sporting event will spend $500 easy and that's sitting in the nosebleed seats. INSANE!!!!

I get it, it's all about the money, but why does everything need to move to a streaming service these days? A household already spends a ton on just basic cable each month and internet. NBA on TNT was one of the best shows on TV and definitely the best basketball analyst show. Ernie is a legend. I also have Max so it was nice being able to stream games. I don’t have Amazon Prime, so I guess I’ll be forced to add another streaming service.

I'm not saying that we might not see this rookies displaying talents, for sure we will see some of them like crazy dunks or passes. But in the last couple of years, we have like Zion and Chet and Wemby entering the league and everyone is very excited and they can even bring sits in the arena to see them play. As compare to this years draft, not much of a name except for a couple maybe. But they really fair bad as compare to those rookies that I mentioned. So let's see, maybe I was just wrong and there could be rookies that will perform better than expected.

The NBA's deal with Amazon Prime has been great. I've already had an Amazon Prime membership for years, and I hardly ever used the Prime Video section. I felt like I was paying for nothing. Finally there's something to watch there. My current TV package gives 1 NBA game a night, but it's usually boring Rockets games because of the Turkish player Alperen Şengün factor. Now that there's an alternative, it's a very good thing.

It's becoming super ridiculous to get even any reasonable televised sporting events on any cable right regardless of how premium your subscription to the cable is let alone have on national tv, well my own country is actually a big joke because you literally need to pay for a cable subscription to watch national and local news alone, let alone sporting events. It's completely outrageous the amount of data I actually spend on to watch NBA during the regular season even having the more than 3x the minimum for the league pass subscription, and the of internet service fee is also an headache and nothing to write home about itself, greed and capitalism is the order of the modern day!

Legion Hoops is reporting that Amazon is interested in picking up the contracts for the NBA on TNT crew in order to keep the show going on Amazon! That’s awesome news for me. I sold my Warner Bros stock when it got spun off anyway. As long as Ernie and the guys get to stay on my TV, I’m happy.

Same here, I have a membership with Amazon Prime Video, but I prefer watching Netflix. However, now that they are partners with the NBA, does it mean we can also watch NBA games through Amazon Prime? If this is the case, it will be easier for viewers as they won't need to buy a separate subscription like they did with NBA League Pass.

It has always been the case that the labor of those in the entertainment industry is valued much higher than that of those who work as doctors, firefighters, scientists, etc. But that's a question for government officials who spend budgets on anything but raising salaries for people in those professions. As for $500 to attend a sporting event, I agree with you. For example, a ticket to a more or less normal seat at the Olympics can cost 400-600 euros, and the price of tickets for some seats at the recent showcase games of the US team was more than $1,5k. And the price of tickets for the NBA final series matches is better not to remember at all.
