Look at this brothers.

https://x.com/BobbyMarks42/status/1825211564213051397

What do you think of the first five?
I think it's more focused on defensive players now. Paul George has been known for his steals. Kelly Oubre is also known for his long reach so guards will have some trouble with him. Then, Caleb Martin, I don't know why the Miami Heat let him go/offered him a new contract but he is one of the league's roleplayers that could really provide something on both ends of the floor. Same as other players, it won't show in the stats but you can definitely witness his greatness.

I think the 76ers could be scary this season. They have offensive and defensive players on their first five and some veterans to fill the hole if they need a substitution. They will probably end up on number 2. (if healthy.)
I just wish that Caleb Martin will explode this season. He's good when he's with the Miami Heat but I think that the team needs to cut some money and that's why he has let go of him and they didn't counter offer what 76ers has given him.

Having Lowry also with the team seems already fine with him as a starter and this is not that much adjustment for the whole team.

This is a balanced line up IMHO and they also have some good reserves on the bench.

Curry deserves the money not just for who he is right now, but what he has done so far as well. I said the same thing about Klay, which they didn't act emotional about, which I understand and it is fine. But remember that Klay was part of a team that won 4 titles, so paying him whatever he wants, paying him the maximum that they can pay, would be fine because he deserves it and not a bad player at all.

I believe that they didn't do it because they wanted to keep it as professional as possible, but the reality is that they couldn't do that to Curry. He is their ticket seller, it is not about who he used to be, it's about how he can sell tickets even now. It's basically just the name, Curry name alone makes so much money, including 62 million in a few seasons, he is still young enough that he will have a good few more seasons. Dude is an agile quick player, and with age that will get worse, but his skills are there and he will continue to be a good player for a while longer.

No nba team can just give future contracts based on what they did previously for the team.  That's literally how ypu send your franchise spiraling down.  These gms are judged on the teams record that they put together.  Paying max for klay would be beyond dumb and career suicide for that gm.  Why send your team to the bottom just as a thank you?

That extension contract I think is for 2026-2027 so, we'll still see him as the franchise player of the Golden State Warriors.

And I agree with you that t could be his last couple of years to the team. He's getting old but his shots are still there but I am sure that just like the old veterans, they're on their way to retirement just as Steph.

But with this extension then we'll still see him for 3-4 years or more.

I don’t think this will be his last contract. He’s still playing at an elite level and his game is easily transitioned into him being a spot up shooter. He could easily play into his early 40s if he wanted to. That doesn’t mean that he will, but to me this is an odd contract to sign. He must be concerned he’s slowing down, or this must be part of a bigger plan in motion. I think he would’ve stood to make a lot more money not signing this extension.
I agree, he can make more if he hasn't signed this contract but GSW management seems to be wise to let their star contractless for that period so they have signed him.

His role is way different from the role of Lebron with his age. So, being focused on shooting has given him like more free move inside the ring, and is not obliged of great defense.

And let his teammates play for that role.
This is what Curry or the Warriors agreed upon, Stephen Curry joins LeBron James, Kevin Durant in $500-million NBA club. Who's next?

Quote
Stephen Curry signed a one-year, $62.6-million extension Thursday, keeping him with the Golden State Warriors through the 2026-2027 season and elevating his career salaries to more than $500 million.

So that group is insane, and maybe in the next 5 years or so, we will be talking about $600 million to $700 million NBA player club. But I guess for Curry, we all know that he deserves it, he has been the leg anchor for the Warriors and once they are a dynasty.

But this season will be totally different as there are no splash brothers. But there are still high hopes that the team are somewhat going to make it to the playoff and proved that he can put this team on his shoulder in a very competitive West division as younger players are taking over.

Sometimes, it seems that salaries in the NBA are rising too fast year after year. Of course, Curry fully deserves that salary, but it's worth noting that there are many other players in the NBA who are clearly overpaid. I wouldn't be surprised if, a decade from now, $50-60 million will be paid to average players, not top players.

The contract will continue to rise since the NBA is probably competing with other sports leagues, especially soccer, where star players are also receiving big amount of contracts. Curry will not only earn from his NBA contract but also from his endorsements. I hope he’ll be wise enough to create his own brand, just like MJ (the GOAT), so he can have a passive income even after he retires.

Someone has to step up to fill KT’s place, someone who can be trusted to make crucial shots, especially when Curry is hot and likely to be doubled. I’m not sure who on the roster can do that, but they can definitely train someone, as this team focuses heavily on 3-point shooting.

They all deserve that and for sure in the next 5 years, we'd also see some crazy contracts that will be signed by the young prospects right now.

Since most of their contracts are around 3-years bond to the team and if there will be any extension, I'm sure that they'd also getting the max of it based on their performances.

Definitely deserves this money. He works his ass off every season to get minutes on the court and he often delivers.
45million for 4 years is a good pay day for a player of his caliber. He is the kind of player you always underestimate when you are in the opposite team because he is not tall, not strong, not flashy and what else not. But he has game and he proves it night in and night out. Pure skill, intensity and commitment, I really love that kind of player!

I will just drop some superstars that could reach that $500M mark in the next 5-10 years.

Jokic, Giannis, Luka, Embiid (probably), and Bronny. Cheesy Just kidding, but the first 4 is the one that I feel will be the next one to reach that milestone. Whatever the case is, LeBron, KD and Steph deserves that pay because of how they are playing with their teams and how they shaped the league to where it is now. It's just insane to see Curry having that 1-year $60M extension, but I guess his answer to an interview where he wants to win a ring is a sign for the management that he wants to leave if needed hence, he signed him. I want to see him retire as a Warrior, but we don't know the future.

But this season will be totally different as there are no splash brothers. But there are still high hopes that the team are somewhat going to make it to the playoff and proved that he can put this team on his shoulder in a very competitive West division as younger players are taking over.
Buddy Hield is a good 3-point shooter. Though it's very early to predict, I expect that Hield will make some three-point shots like what Steph is doing. Let's take note that last season, they're the top 2 players in 3-points make. Having them on a single team might be a problem for their opposing teams.

They all deserve that and for sure in the next 5 years, we'd also see some crazy contracts that will be signed by the young prospects right now.

Since most of their contracts are around 3-years bond to the team and if there will be any extension, I'm sure that they'd also getting the max of it based on their performances.

It's a business ad owners needs to play smart to keep their stars and continue manifesting with their names, I agree that we will see more like this in the coming future, more young talents that will be gaining more millions dollars from their contract and as you mentioned they all deserves that money, they are bringing fame and they are bringing sales to the teams tickets and merchants, all are being paid by bringing more fan's support for the whole organizations.

I agree for both Curry and Lebron except for Durant. He is just the typical hype players that can’t get a ring even with super teams. He is just lucky to land on GSW that needs his role badly on that year that’s he gets the ring but I doubt that he can still get a ring without joining a team that as strong as Warriors before.

Curry and Lebron proven themselves already besides they already have a huge supporters that greatly contributes to the team profit on their ticket  and merchandise sales.

Durant on the other hand is just meh after he leave Warriors.

Who's next?

Absolutely.  Soon there will be $500mil contracts handed out.  I mean jaylen brown landed a $300mil+ contract.  With all the TV deals amd the way things are moving we are going to be talking the billion dollar club.  The part I hate is it all goes to charging more for tickets and it's starting to price people out.  Maybe not in the small markets where you can still land decent seats.  As a knicks fan I have to go watch them on the road if I want really good seats

The other side of the insane TV deals is that small markets can spend nothing on players, not care if their arena is empty every night, and their owners still make a fortune. This is more obvious in baseball where Mark Cuban famously said that owning the Pirates is a job that requires you to get paid $20,000,000 per year to get yelled at by your city. I hope this doesn’t creep more into the NBA.

I still think Luka Doncic will be the first 1 million dollar per game NBA contract.

Sixers definitely look better with PG13 there is no doubt about that, but the real question is that how healthy will they stay? If Sixers can all stay healthy then they are going to be great without a doubt, not only they have a good starting five, but they also have a good bench potential as well which is a lot more important if you want to win the title. At this point, it's all about how will have an important player injured.

Like for example last year Embiid was injured and sixers lost and the title went to Celtics, now imagine if Embiid was healthy but Tatum was injured, how would that work? I would say Sixers would have a chance to win the title instead, which is why it's all about staying healthy. Considering Embiid and PG13 both have history with injury, I would say that it is clear they are going to have some hard time staying that much healthy for a long time. This is why I believe that we are going to see this team not have that much trouble at all.

He's wise enough that he can't get that ring somewhere else so he would team up with Steph years ago.

Well, he's already got those championship rings and have got gold medals. That's really a good way to end his career whether he'll get more rings this time, he's all set and have a wonderful career in the NBA.

TJ McConnell gets extension contract (4 years) with his current team, Indiana Pacers.
He's underrated but his contribution during last playoffs especially against the Knicks was so good.

Yeah, we like to see this kind of players getting good pay as well, very similar underrated player like Caleb Martin, Max Struss and Gabe Vincent of the Miami Heat. And now they have ventured to other teams but have gotten good contracts already.

So for TJ he is deserving of this contract extension and with that, we hope that the Pacers will have a good run just like what they did last season. Very hard working team but the experience they got from last year could be good enough to push them better for this season.

He deserves the contract as he has been very loyal to the team, and in the last playoffs, he showed his great contribution. He is now a veteran, and the team has improved. Next season will be another chance to try, and hopefully, none of their star players will get injured. Although they have their young main player, I like this team because they have been able to utilize their players effectively. The management of minutes is quite impressive, giving them an advantage in the end since they are not so tired.

That's a good deal. He had a lot of good games in the 2023 - 2024 season as well in the playoffs, particularly in the ECF. I think being underestimated was something he take advantage of to step up to his game put up a big number. He averages 10+ppg, 2.7 rpg, 5.5 apg, and 55% fpg. If he was more consistent with his game, he could've gained even more minutes and will probably have higher offer as per his 4 years contract extension. This could be his last contract though, so It's definitely a good thing.

I think it's not about being loyal to the team, sure players can be loyal and wanted to stick to their teams for as long as it last. However, this is competitive sports, and so if you can't contribute to the team, then you will be trade even if you wanted to be loyal or even performed better.

So right now, a 4 year extension might be good for him, but if he fails and perform below expectations, then who knows, he could get traded. He needs to be consistent though to be able to remain with them and finished that contract. A good example is Jordan Poole, help the Warriors to win a ring, next the biggest contract, perform poorly and shall we shall everything gets into his head and then traded the next season to Washington Wizard and then perform badly in his first year.

Yes, he had great minutes during the Eastern Conference Playoffs and I think Haliburton being benched made the Pacers management see how important he is for the team.
He is a great guard, he can attack the paint or shoot mid-range shots. Plus, the Pacers are mostly relying on speed which TJ could provide. The Pacers actually don't need much of a change in their roster, all they need is chemistry especially with Siakam on their roster now.
Haliburton on the other hand must also learn that he is now the leader of their team and he must like that. I remember in the playoffs where most basketball analysts are criticizing his volume of shooting because it became less and less as the pressure was affecting him. That cannot happen again.
