2026 NBA Season

So, we'll have to wait for a week to see if it's something major or not. Less than a month and we're on the opening of the NBA. I guess that Mavs that will have him rest for a month or two even if the injury isn't big.

That's to be sure that he's well rested and prepared for the entire season. Good thing that there's Kyrie and Klay.

That’s what the news says, but before any announcement comes out about his status, all we can do is hope he’s fine and that the injury isn’t serious. If he has to rest for like a month, I think that’s still alright, I mean, nobody likes injuries, but if it’s gonna happen, better now early in the season than during the playoffs or when the season’s about to end.

That's the best that we can do, to wait and be patient until the medical records say that he's okay and eligible to play.

I hope that there won't be any further damage and effect from his injury. Because major injuries starts from the minors and they can't just neglect it to happen.

Anyway, nothing expected for the starters here because they will be playing limited minutes of course. What my eyes are on right now is Westbrook and how he will be helping the team, and with his first game, it wasn't that impressive... at least for now. He got 12 points, 4 rebounds, but those 8 assists are huge. We know that the Nuggets heavily rely on Jokic in terms of playmaking as he averaged a triple double at some point of his career, but with Westbrook on the team, it seems like that task of him will be reduced because there's somebody that can do the job as well.

Nevertheless, one game isn't enough to conclude what Westbrook can bring for the team and even though they lost, it's just a pre-season game still. A good warm-up for the players.

I wouldn't take anything from any summer games or pre season games.  Teams are working on new rotations, different defensive schemes.  The Celtics played 18 differemt players it's not that big a deal.  He isn't there to provide shooting numbers anyway.  Dude is there to clean some boards from the backcourt position, provide energy and some vet presence.

Yeah, I do agree that Butler doesn't want to be on the front page of this social media because of what his hairstyle is. He should be focusing more on becoming a NBA champion rather that this one. It's one side to be hilarious, and it's different if you wanted to be treated with respect specially if you wanted to become and have a ring. He is not getting any younger and who knows, his prime could be when he reach the finals in the bubble. So it's good for him to become normal in the media day, but then when the season starts, it's a different Jimmy Butler and hopefully he will be 100% in this season with no major injuries that might sideline him again. He is still the alpha of the Heat and together with Bam and Herro they are still very formidable threat in the East.

Can you even imagine how much money we are talking about when Jimmy Butler appears in the media space? Do you think that he only earns income from the game? No, that is far from true. After all, NBA basketball players are also media personalities who earn fees from "showing" their faces in commercials and more. How many fans, in addition, want to buy products with the logo, number of their idol. Here you need to combine business with pleasure, which is what Butler does.

Also as what he is stated before that he's not been used well by LA teams he place on a role that he's not comfortable with. But maybe right now there's good discussion happened on the side of Westbrook and Nugget management to see on how he became effective and became valuable to their roster. I do not think that they are getting paid though in this media day, I mean it's the official NBA media day and so they will have to come, regardless if there is money involved or not. It's different when some sporting entities like ESPN will interview Jimmy with his new hair style, for sure they will have to pay him. Or even Jimmy appearing on the movie by Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, Bad Boys 2. But with this media days, it's a official photographers and maybe some fans had access to this players and with interviews. And then this photos goes to social media outlet. But I do not think that players are being paid here. And probably that's one reason as well for Butler to just stay normal in the photo shoot to not attract anything from him.

Not sure if we can consider it big news though, it's just pre-season, and the regular season is very long. And that's why I also think that there will be games that we might see the brilliance of WB as a playmaker, and having double digits in assists or rebounds or even shoot better percentage outside.

And then there could be games that he will totally be the Westbrick, lots of errors and turn-overs and missed some open and good shots. But with this kind of games, the Nuggets might be very happy already with his performance and might be thinking that they had a good deal with the acquisition of Westbrook.

He could even be more useful if he will be able to improve his shooting percentage on both mid range and 3 pointers. He'd be unstoppable with such improvements, plus he's got to draw multiple defenders creating more open shots for his teammates.
We have yet to see a team that utilizes Westbrook's ability very well. Hoping to see that with the Nuggets though.

About that trade, I am still not used to watching Donte DiVincenzo in his new uniform. I mean, he does look better in a Knicks uniform, it suits him.

Anyway, Russell Westbrook, had a good start in the preseason although they lost that game against the Boston Celtics. The power is still there, the speed, the aggressiveness, the will to win. He will be that energy bringer for their second team and I bet those young guys who will play with him will be infected by his fire.

He already understands that, even in Lakes an in the Clippers uniform, he is no longer that star and he is coming off the bench and we have seen his numbers going down as well. But let's see with his new team, he might be given enough playing time if he shows good performance. And might still do have a good game when it comes to his passing skills and rebounding.

But in scoring, that might be a big question. He could be one of the spark plug, as we all know that he is very animated in every game and that is his signature. To bring everything every game, 100%.

That strong move to the basket can materiliaze since both Jokic and Jamal are good in throwing quick pass, if WB will find his space and recieve that kind of passes, that's pretty sure will be a decent stats for him. A matter of how coaches and players will work and blend together, as for now, he might be a secondary option for the team.

The problem with players like Westbrook is that he used to play with his fierce athleticism and this made him amazing, he used to get inside for scoring, pass very well, rebound.

Now he doesn't have that, dude is older and he can't shot for anything, so there is really nothing he brings to a team aside from maybe leadership because he has been around for long enough, but he doesn't seem to have a character that oozes leadership neither.

He is not "old" in the sense that he should retire, but he is old for his old style of basketball, at 34 years old, you can't dunk over everybody, Curry can still shoot, shooting has no age, curry can shoot when he is 40 too, there is no need for him to change his style as he gets older, but when you are 34, you are not going to be faster than everyone else. So, the "old" talk comes from that.

All the greats of basketball, MJ, Kobe, Lebron, they all changed their styles compared to their old selves, just look at their shooting vs their dunking every year, you will see that they started to shoot more as they got older and this means Westbrook has to as well, which he tries sometimes but as we all know he fails and misses most of his shots, which makes him not good at all.

I agree I'm still on the fence on this one.  Knicks had a glaring hole at the 5 which they filled but Ju is a beast at the 4 the timberwolves got a really good player and think it's a better fit than having KAT and Gobert out there.  Ju has the same bully game that edwards has and think that's going to be a solid 1-2 punch.  The key to it being successful for the Knicks is if one KAT can stay healthy but even bigger if OG can stay on the court otherwise the Knicks will have real issues at the 4

I would say that getting his first title would be one of his priorities right now since he's on the Nuggets, but I believe his main priority is to just stay on the league and in order for that to happen, he will accept any role or any contract as long as he stays in the league. I wouldn't say too that he's fortunate that some teams sign him because I believe that he still have that passion to play and can contribute to the team he's playing with.

As much as I want to discuss about how he became popular during his OKC days, I would also like to say how he's career got ruined ever since he joined the Lakers. I mean we know that it all started when he joined there. I wouldn't say that it's Le-GM's fault, but he's one of them for me. It's just a bit unfortunate that after that, his value decreased significantly and now from an all-star that we used to see, he is now a role player for different teams. I hope that his stint with the Nuggets will be enough for him to redeem himself, and I mean he contributes more with his team.

TBH, he can be a starter for the Nuggets as their PG since they don't have any legit PG on the team. It's just that their bench is just too weak IMO.
