Alperen had a fantastic start to the season. Oklahoma defeated Houston 125-124 in overtime. Alperen played 49 minutes and had 39 points and 11 rebounds. If Durant had made 2 of 2 free throws, Houston would have won. Houston will do very well with Alperen and Durant this year. Alperen led the game in scoring. SGA played another fantastic game in Oklahoma, scoring 35 points. I'm glad the NBA is back. The Euroleague and the NBA are quality events for basketball fans.

I'm sure KD will be a fantastic player for this team. Alperen Şengün's performance at the European Basketball Championship was also fantastic. He's gained a lot of experience now, and I'm confident he'll be even more successful. I think we'll see them in the playoffs this season. Of course, once the season starts, things will become clearer; it's not really fair to predict right now. That's because they've got big men and promising players there like Sengun and Adams. While there are supporting players that will surely give a good help from him and them being helped by KD, we'd see on how this team is going to give the fans a boost of which team they're going to cheer. Hopefully, they will make it to the playoffs. I want a lot of teams to be there, LOL. I won't say that Adams is a promising player, dude has been in the league for many years. But yeah, Sengun, Amen Thompson could be a treat for us, and that's what really happens in this game. KD has a great help from Sengun, but he fouled out and so someone will have to take the last second shot. But this is really a good test for the Rockets, as we thought that their chemistry is going to be different as they change their starting five. Warriors game against the Lakers was also great, although Lebron is not playing, Luka still tries to carry the load but it was not enough as Jimmy and Kuminga had a great game.

I do not think that Adams and Alperen going to play together, specially when Durant on the team. I think Durant is playing more like a forward, and that means we are going to see Alperen at Center, and Durant defending the four, which will be difficult I agree but he has done it before and he can do it again, that size definitely matters in this case. They still have Fred Vanvleet on the team which means that we are going to see him as their point guard, not Amen Thompson. Could this five ever be on the field together?
Possibly could happen for short periods of time, but it is not going to be common at all. Adams and Alperen play in rotation, when Alperen is out, Adams plays and lets Alperen rest. So both at the same time will be very rare.

A record broken by Alperen Sengun as well! A wonderful performance in a season opener really... 5 3-pointers by him was just an extra performance honestly. I think he was the best performer of the game. There was a great rivalry between him and Shai. I wish Rockets won though after all that effort by Alpi. They just needed a few more points from Durant... All his 3-pointer attempts failed.

Luka Doncic is having himself a night as the Lakers are down by one at the half. I feel sorry for him. He’s having to direct Ayton on defense and keeps feeding him passes right at the hoop but Ayton can’t seem to get it done. Marcus Smart is playing weird basketball out there too making the game about fouls.
Yeah, poor Luka. I mean obviously there is some talent in this team, but there are also guys which are total liabilities on both ends of the floor, which must be very annoying for him. Usually he can focus on scoring and passing but having to direct the defense is yet another task you don't really need when you are an offensive weapon like him. Ayton already show an early sign that he's going to be a liability on their team. To bad for him to take bad position and it seems he can't dominate the floor just like what people expect him to do. Luka is over work and his team really need to step up because they won't go any far if they perform the same as what they did today. We have seen good plays done by Warriors today and let see if they can sustain all of it. Butler heat up and he take lead to help Warriors win today.

I hope it can be change or will be different once the team in complete and LBJ is playing. Coz the king is a big help and a big change if he can play. There will be also a good progress as days goes on, the chemistry is still in development and theres a lot of time for that and the play and defense of JJ should make them better. Lets give the team a month.

Usually, when the NBA season is about to start there are contests posted in the games and rounds section here on bitcointalk related to the NBA opening season but it seems there aren’t any this time.
NBA starts later today.. does anyone know of any good NBA promos being offered right now? Like the one from stake.com where if your team leads by 12+ points but ends up losing in the 4th quarter, your bet is still considered a win. Just wondering if there’s something similar available offered by other sites..
Just like the ratings of NBA, the interest towards betting on it has decreased too. I bet if we asked some older casino here, like lets say Stake or something, that has been around for a long time, and ask them to check their NBA betting year by year (would be better if they had season by season) you will see a decrease, I am 100% sure of it. It means that doing these competitions or anything that is marketing based on NBA is just waste of money for them considering it is not getting bigger. Never put money into something that is getting smaller revenue for you, they focus more on things that makes them money. These days, UCL is underway so they focus on that. World cup is about to happen, they are leaving some money aside so they can do big bang for that.

What a game to open the NBA. A tough win for the Thunder, SGA being SGA with 35 points, 10 of which came from the free throw line. Impressive performance from Sengun as well, contributing 39 points for the Rockets.
The next game between the Lakers and Warriors was entertaining too. With LeBron out, their offense revolved around Reaves and Luka. Luka dropped 43 points, but it wasn’t enough to beat the Warriors, who made 17 threes compared to their 8. I was surprised that Kuminga played for 33 minutes, it seems like one of the conditions they agreed on was giving him more playing time.

Durant mid range is something soft and pure, if they will play like this they will be top 3 for sure rockets are showing that they are one of the team to beat, sengun really evolved as a force, in the NBA, OKC also still the team to beat hope this two face in the west finals, if rockets make it this will be a battle, but ofcourse OKC nuggets will not hand it easily, is this the rockets time? or there is still long way to go, both team core players are young.

I view the current Rockets team as a threat in the Western Conference. Though they lost against the defending champs on the opening night, the 2 OTs are enough to say that the Rockets are a serious contender this year, considering that they are still adjusting to their new and improved lineup. Not to mention, they are tall. My gut is telling me that this team would gel together early this season, because I think Durant is a good fit for the team. Yep, no doubt a top 3 team this season, and like I said a serious contender for the 2026 NBA finals.

Alperen played as a PG against OKC and they still gave OKC a tough time. If KD can be healthy for the bulk of the season, I think they should make the playoffs.

I think it was more of him reading the game early on that was why Kerr gave him that amount of minute. Him taking easy shots and looking for his team mates when necessary was enough for Kerr to extend his minutes. If he continues that way, he'd get into his stride especially when Warriors need to rest their main players.

It's a tough call for Luka though he needs to step up and play as the main alpha and part of that role is being in-charge in both sides but I agree it's a overwork for Luka, he needs someone to step up in their defensive side, he can bring the offense to explode but that's going to be a wasted efforts if they've fail to guard their opponents, still lots of game to play they have that enough time to adjust and be a two-way gunner so they'll be able not just score but also to bring that good stop limiting their opponents.
Not really that difficult, he was the alpha at Dallas too, and now he is going to be alpha at lakers as well. Sure for a while when he played with Lebron he wasn't the alpha, we could say that he was not taking orders neither, he wasn't some role player, but he wasn't the captain of the team neither, now he has to take that leadership role too now that Lebron is not playing and resting most of the season. But that doesn't mean Luka can't do it, he is good enough to make that work. We will see Luka have a career year I am sure of it, of course that is only possible if he stays healthy too. I always found him a bit out of shape but because he can score and do what he needs to do, it never bothered anyone, same like Harden. If that causes any injuries, that's an issue.

None of today’s games look too exciting to me. The only one I’m really interested in is seeing what Wemby does. Is he going to continue his Shaq-like domination, or was that just him dunking on kids in the preseason?
A little curious how Dallas is going to perform with their new lineup as well.

For now, let see Luka entertain his fans as he always do for sure numbers ain't going to be a problem just need to stay healthy and keep himself away from any possible serious injury.

Did you watch the incredible match between the Houston Rockets and OKC? It went to double overtime, and OKC won 125-124. As a Houston fan, I'm sad we lost by one point, but Alperen Şengün scored 39 points, so I'm very happy. We would have been even happier if we had won. We've been starting the league with losses for a long time, and that didn't change this year. I'm hoping this year will be even better. Did you see Kevin Durant calling a timeout? It was the funniest moment of the night, I think.

Luka is looking and playing even better now with the improved workouts and diet, but that Lakers team is still a work in progress until Lebron gets back. Warriors on the other hand look really good too, the Western conference is stacked again as usual Rockets looking deadly as well sucks that FVV is out. Seeing so many new lineup changes on each team this season is gonna be interesting for sure.

It's just the first game with this roster and there can be a lot of things that can still happen next. It's a promising team, let's not just look at individual players. If they will continue to be this good despite that they've lost the game, it's still a nice game isn't it? I think that they'll make it farther for this season. So, both of the favorites have won today, the OKC and the Warriors. I'll start to bet on these games again and the other nba betting thread is active again.

Right, it's the usual Luka, but this time he is moving better because he has lost a lot of weight. Only thing though is that without Lebron, might be very hard for the Lakers to get that victory. Luka really need some help here, not just Reaves. Ayton though might be disappointing in his first game as a Laker. For the Warriors, they look strong with Butler and it seems that Kuminga, even though him and the Warriors have some drama before the season starts with the contract, was brilliant and might be given the starting five lineup that he wanted.
