https://mytrezor.com down ? Sad

Makes me consider Electrum even more, just not sure about the privacy that way.

If you want privacy, use Trezor on Android with Mycelium through Tor.

I couldn't help myself.

Either you own the bitcoins(private keys) or you don't. However with moneroj, nobody knows what you own.
Secure. Private. Untraceable.

Wink

It's sad that the development of the monero firmware for trezor has stopped. I hope someone picks it up soon, because using Monero with Trezor would be heaven Cheesy

When "homeland security" raided our house they took several Trezors still in the original packages that I had planned to give away for Christmas presents.  Yesterday we got back all of our stuff (computers, cell phones, Trezors, etc.) and most of the seized Bitcoins (there was a paperwork snag on some of the Bitcoins that were supposed to be returned - should be worked out by next week).

I fired up one of the new Trezors out of the box, updated the firmware, and then transferred the returned BTC to the new Trezor.

I then sent a 5 BTC to our donation web site (www.burtw.com and www.jmwagner.com) in order to pay some outstanding bills we have.

Finally, my question:  All of my transactions into the Trezor showed up as confirmed as soon as they got confirmed, however the send transaction (through Coinbase at our donation web sites) took hours to show up as confirmed in the myTrezor wallet even though it had many, many confirmation on blockchain.info

It did not cause any issues, I was just wondering if anyone else has seen this weird delay.

BTW:  Homeland Security was storing all the seized Bitcoins on a Trezor that they either purchased or seized from someone else!

Our family was terrorized by Homeland Security.  Read all about it here:  http://www.jmwagner.com/ and http://www.burtw.com/  Any donations to help us recover from the $300,000 in legal fees and forced donations to the Federal Asset Forfeiture slush fund are greatly appreciated!

Because when they transferred my BTC back to me they transferred them from their Trezor.  I am not saying that they always store seized BTC on a Trezor.  All I can say is that they used a Trezor in my case.

Also, to be clear, I consider this good advertising for a great product that I believe in and use myself.

Anyone or any server/entity who has/gets your xpub can calculate and see your entire xpub public sequence.  Therefore, they can see all of your current public addresses, all of your previously used public addresses and all of your transactions on all the addresses generated by that xpub.

I don't see this as an issue for a miner giving an xpub key to the mining pool they use.  The mining pool will be able to calculate the entire public key sequence and should use a different public key each time they send a payment.  So they can calculate and see the entire history of payments - but of course they already know that history because they are the one who made all the payments.

In other words giving out a separate xpub to each entity that gives you periodic payments would not compromise your privacy.

However, the point of the original question is a good one.  You should be careful who gets the xpub key from your Trezor account(s) as whoever that is can calculate and see the entire history of transactions generated by that xpub.  That is exactly how myTrezor.com can calculate your entire transaction history every time you plug your Trezor into the web site.

Go for it! I've never had problems with security and I haven't seen any others who have. The Trezor's always my go-to for storage.

Thanks. I've waited this long to make sure there hasnt been an issue but keeping up with this thread is hard work because of the amount of replies it gets. looks to be only minor bugs and no major bugs which as resulted in losing bitcoin so im going to go for it.

congrats on the dismissal!  wow, didn't expect that.  when i first read about your case i was pretty appalled at what seemed like an egregious abuse of power.  glad to hear that justice still seems to work in some cases in this country.

My invoice stated that the supplier was BitNet Global Inc based in Panama but according to the DHL waybill and tracking information the Trezor was collected in Prague, Czech Rep.
