In the meantime I'm sitting here laughing at you guys crying over all of this like half of you didn't read this thread before doing your transfer.

Not everyone who uses bitcoins frequents bitcoin forums. That's one of the reasons they should take the site down instead of continuing to lead people on and letting them make orders that have no way of being fulfilled.

I couldn't agree more. Some kind of update needs to be put on their blog, it's very hard to get any information on what's going on with our money when support is being less than supportive.

Can someone tell me what's going on with Bit Instant?

My last two orders had to be processed by hand and while they got done, it was a bit of a pain.  I commend them for getting it done, but it was unnerving to say the least.

Tonight I went to process another transfer, and noticed that all but four of the options for SEND TO are available (the really useless ones, like Paypal, etc).  I need to send from Dwolla to a Bitcoin address, so that's out...  Isn't that the whole point of the company?

Can anyone recommend another way to buy BTC (to a btc address) via Dwolla?  And not MtGox; those bastards force you to have a government photo ID scanned, social security number, all kinds of bullshit on file just to be able to use Dwolla.  What a load of horse shit.

Can someone tell me what's going on with Bit Instant?

The consensus or at least the signs point to a classic age old business problem.... lack of cash flow.   Ripe for venture capital help as they are poised to be THE go to guys... are they with any firm in particular?

Hi Yankee,

I've just registered on this site to message you about my order, but I can't send private messages as I'm newly registered. I hate to be the one to complain here but I've sent several emails and even replied very promptly to your Reddit comment reply a couple days ago instructing me to PM you with my information so the order can be processed and never received a reply. I have not received a single response from your support since last Thursday about my deposit that was made last Wednesday, and now here I am registering for a bitcoin forum... Bleh. Not the best customer support experience I have had to say the very least... Sad

Hopefully my ZipZap account number will be sufficient information for you to process my order as I'm unable to retrieve my OrderID. The ZipZap account number is 201 731 288.

I also hope the value of my Bitcoins will be honored for February 13th, as that is when I completed my deposit and the value of the Bitcoin has risen about 5 USD since then.

Thank you!

I'm kinda in the same boat, I made an order on Monday night and still have not recieved it. I got an email saying that you are waiting for more bitcoins and that's fine but when? When will I see my bitcoins? And if you are out, why not put a splash page up saying "Hey we are currently out of bitcoins, we will resume servicing you as soon as our stock has resumed". Or if orders now will not be an hour but serveral days let people know!

You guys have been fantastic all the way up to taking down your btc address, once sending to btc accounts went down I have had nothing but issues. Yankee, please, help me.

I am starting to lose faith in the support team. I've sent multiple emails requesting information about my order and it seems to be impossible to contact them. Meanwhile I have hundreds of dollars sitting in limbo. Also, I purchased these bitcoins when they were drastically cheaper than the are now and it seems I'm going to lose money based off this. I will NOT be a returning customer, regardless of how many successful transactions I have had with them. Yankee, if you see this my ZipZap number is 549476992.

Yes, as I have said previously, despite their protestations to the contrary, this is all about lack of money/bitcoins to send, and not technical problems.  They are trying to buy time, which would actually be OK if they were honest about it.  Problem is that they are blaming technical glitches.  In a situation like this, honesty is the best policy.

They are most likely waiting on payments from one of their providers, such as CashPayment.com.  My guess is that CashPayment.com is a little spooked about the legalities and have held up their payments, so they simply don't have any money or bitcoins to send.  It's either that, or they lost all of their bitcoins to a hacker.  If/When they do get paid or find someone to finance replacement coins, my guess is that all orders will be paid and the "technical glitches" they are using as an excuse will all of a sudden be cleared up. That could be a while though, if ever, since their payment provider could easily reverse all transactions if they are uncomfortable from a legal perspective.

Now, the Bitinstant guys will pop in here with a snotty response and tell me I'm not only wrong but stupid for posting this, or that I haven't read their BS posts about technical glitches, as they seem to do with anyone that questions them.  But look at the facts.  Everything was working just fine.  A week is more than enough time to recover technically from any hacker attack.  If the site code were changed, you take your code backup, and throw it back up on the server.  Takes a few minutes, not a week.  What they don't get is that everyone could understand a payment holdup or even a theft of their bitcoins, but blaming it on technical issues says "We are lying to you" to some and "We are technically inept" to the rest.  Either way, that's not a good image.  The truth would be nice at this point.

Wonder if the next payment method to disappear will be Mt. Gox.... leaving the Bitcoin powerhouses of VirWox, Paypal, and VouchX.   Not even sure what that last thing is, but looks like it's time to dust off my role playing dice.

they did the same shit with me after I submitted all the info required then they had the nerve to tell me  my verification was denied because I'm under 18 and they requested a parent/legal guardians signature... I was like you gotta be kidding me

Don't bother contacting them anymore. They refuse to respond, and think they can just keep taking peoples money without explanation, lol. Today I will spend the entire day rating them across the net, filing complaint with BBB, and putting in a nice solid day. Their customer service is absolutely the worst I've experienced, look at the end of this thread for a perfect example....where are the resp? Lol. I predict the future......It's friday and you just receieved another email saying please wait one business day while I forward this to technical support. Yeah, sure, for the what 3rd time? Bummer I thought I'd enjoy a long customer relationship with these guys. They come and go I guess =D

File a complaint with the BBB (Better Business Bureau) since they are registered.

You can do this here:

www.bbb.org/file-a-complaint/

Maybe you'll get a response afterwards. It says they'll be notified and have 14 days to respond.

I've been waiting since last Saturday morning & my funds just came through. Far from ideal, but they are working at resolving this mess.

EDIT: *For what it's worth (and contrary to their prior assertion), they did not honor the value of the BTC when it was purchased a week ago.*
