Where did you first heard about Bitcoins?

it lead me to a ponzi scheme site about btc and then a started to look about bitcoin more and more.

I was searching for some part time online jobs on internet and then I found the videos related to bitcoin, first I thought its a fake, but after researching a lot now I am active user of bitcoin.

I first heard about bitcoin through my relative he told me that he is actually earning extra and real money from the bitcoin and make me encourage joining as possible. He taught me things that I have to do and know before I can actually join. At first he told me to read all the comments especially the beginners topic so that I will be avail to familiar myself with the terms here. Even now I still manage to read all the new topics here and if ever there are things that I don’t understand I ask people here and study their comments.

I think I first heard about Bitcoin reading a thread on another forum about how some guys were using their AMD graphics cards to mine the crypto currency if I remember correctly. That got me very interested to learn more and so I discovered the Bitcointalk forum later on and I found a lot of useful information here that helped me understand what Bitcoin is and how to use it. I am very grateful to the awesome people here that keep on contributing.

My first time  i heard about bicoins.
That must be in november 2013. About 3 years ago.
I saw an article in the journal about someone in norwegian or so who had baught some bitcoins in the beginning for a few dollars and now they seemed to be 1000 dollar worth.
He had sold them all and bought an appartment with the money.
He first had to search for his code and wallet.dat, but luckely he found it.
Than i have been looking around for information about bicoin.

The first time I heard (actually read) about Bitcoin was when I did research on my thesis about encryption for a degree. It was back in 2011. I searched Google scholar and found the paper of Satoshi. I took a quick look into it before I realized this is not what I was needing for my work. A couple of months later, Bitcoin was mentioned into an article I read and I remember about the paper again. This was the time when I really got into Bitcoin.

Maybe you are not an early adopters of bitcoin, because during my time when I first knew it was when I check on the gambling sites and I notice that they accept bitcoins and that interest me because I did not have to spend more on charges for depositing to my other sportsbook.

even currently in my country BTC is still a negative conversation. the government really does not know about bitcoin, and the media always makes the bad news about bitcoin. one day I will tell the media that bitcoin is very profitable.

I friend of me also told me to use it, at first I was like I do not have time for this it seems so complicated and boring why whould I bother with this stuff.
But then he explained it a bit to me and told me that money was involved and I was all ears.

i heard about it maybe 2 months ago when i am watching a video about the deep web then i saw a thread on a Fb group about bitcoin , before i was shocked cause i thought it was illegal because all i see in the video about deep web it is used for illegal transaction like buying a fire arms and illegal drugs and even a subscription for an X-rated video until a group member tell me that it's not then i was so amazed that i can have a money online and i can turn it to a real currency after that i was so interested to know how it works, who invented this amazing thing and to know how to earn it and he gave me a link of faucet site and now i am so addicted to bitcoin .

I heard it from my dad, as my dad has close watch on the news and he is fond of reading, so he told me that there is something  called bitcoin so just check it out.
