ether soaring so high that it may over take bitcoin in months. i wouldn't be surprise if this happen this year. the domination battle always end up on platforms like eth and waves. there are some on top but hasn't really made their development as fast as these two. waiting for NEM to do some initiative.

At the current rising rate, the ETH will be larger than bitcoin soon.

In market cap maybe, but in price not in the near future for sure. Even with bigger market cap, ether would not take bitcoin's first place for adoption and using.

Bitcoin adoption and growth is also stunted, companies are leaving for ETH, new users are getting annoyed at slow and expensive transactions. This thread has many pages from the first big ETH pump prior even to the DAO and we've been saying the same things. Granted Bitcoin kept rising but it just can't keep up right now unless something dramatically changes.

I don't think Bitcoin will die or anything, it will just be another option among many. It already is, preferred by idealists, anarchists, etc that basically took it hostage.

I think the reason for people to use the ETH is that the bitcoin is too slow and expensive to send.

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

I agree with that. The transaction confirmation of ETH is much faster than bitcoin.

This is ideally the selling point of ethereum and other altcoins over bitcoin. People want to enjoy faster and affordable transactions.

Am honestly thinking of moving to ETH but wont completely leave bitcoins because its still the best crypto coin we know.

Now the price is stable as hell, at least related to BTC.

Everything is falling in the same proportion.

For the time being, the ETH is still more volatile than bitcoin. Maybe it will be more stable in the future.

I used to like ETH, now i wish it a painful death. The endless ICO scams, hacked contracts, and pathetic architecture should kill it off, but it is the cat with 99 lives. Death to ETH.

Is mining Ethereum a good strategy? or is direct investment better

Both are good, if you have already a mining RIG then it worth a lot because if you have reached the ROI then you are earning money like a boss now.

But even though there is a lack of motivation in the mining rig because people are saying that Ethereum is going to be moved to Proof of Stake which stops the mining and people will move to another coin.

Investing in bitcoin also is a good thing because the ethereum price has been increased too much recently, few months the price was ~$50 and now the price is $280

I think if you have the skill, it is better to mine.

It has nothing to do with the skills, being a miner does not need to have a degree or something else, count it as a hobby.

Mining information can be found easily here in forum or even in youtube since ethereum mining has been very trending nowadays.

You still need knowledge about the operating system, video cards etc.

Don't do it!!

High probability that it won't break .01. BTC won't rally until ETH finishes somewhere above 008

Edit:
While what's cheap? ETH? Ha, it's up 400% and you think NOW is the time to buy?

lol. 1st reply in this thread. Mods should ban your ass for that reply.

It has never been as easy as it is now; to mine.  Try smOS or one of my builds (see my signature); either way: it's significantly simpler than what mining once involved.

That is the reason for the big farms are doing very well.

I was quite a fan or ETH, but now I am worried since huge amounts of ETH collected in recent ICOs will probably be dumped in the market soon.

That is a legit concern. So we need more actual usage to absorb those coins.

I agree here.  Eth is going to be the way to go long term I think just due to usability.

Both bitcoin and ethereum are providing closer percentage of increase in the price. So there is no need of a move from bitcoin to eth or from eth to bitcoin. If you see the growth percentage of bitcoin and ethereum it is more or less around 2-3%
