I had a friend who was an addict. Then he had an intervention with the whole family. It seems he almost instantly changed.
His habits, his hobbies and his life.

His family might have been bothered by your friends actions lately and his addiction, maybe your friend's family consulted someone about it..That, I think your friend is not yet an addict or is in a younger age..

Quiting Gambling is not easy to the person involved. Most of answers here is correct, the person needs Family, friends or any person close to him their support. Also, find a hobby that you can spend your time with family.Avoid friends that can be a bad influence to you in gambling or any games which involved money.

Gambling leads to many other problems in life, it isn't easy to quit gambling, but there are ways u can help yourself before u get to point with no return. Just remember the feeling when u lose a lot of money, allow yourself to feel that despondency when u are having thoughts about gambling again. I wish luck to everyone that wish to stop.

Is it really that hard to stop gambling? I think not, Well I think for me it is not hard to stop gambling maybe I am not addicted with it because I learn to control but for some rare cases some people that are addicted to it has a psychological problem and this cases are often rare!
The best thing that you can do is just find some distraction. That is the best thing that you can do I think.
And of course you must control yourself. You must say to yourself that you must stop gambling, we cant help you, we only can give you some tips.

I personally always seeing that kind of post have some distraction, control yourself in betting, well I think that was the basic thing to do so you can quit in gambling but why need to quit it if you can control you betting in gambling.

he said control yourself, not control yourself in betting. it can be fragile and may collapse anytime, so use additional methods is always welcome.

Quitting gambling can be easy but it also the thing if you work hard to stop because if you not gonna work for it it will not happen for sure.
Mostly its just a matter of time before you are stopping with it, its just a time factor where you gamble for some time.

Move to a remote place or island that has no internet and not many people. Or you can join a monastery or become a hermit and live in a cave in the mountains somewhere.

Or work multiple jobs so you are too busy to do anything else, except sleep.  Huh

Or just embrace your inner degenerate and not worry about it. The more you worry about it, the mare you will crave gambling.  Cheesy

By controlling yourself it can mean to control yourself in betting too like you only have 0.01 so you must use lower base bet to achieve that means it will slower than if you have 1 btc balance so you will earn 0.01 or 0.1. Additional method like some strategy not really work sometime so you need to make sure that you strategy will work with your balance too

haha i did not know what in the world is Gunpla ,but thanks to google i know now. i have to say it sounds like a very interesting hobby for those who are interested in theses type of things but it is as you mentioned a little expensive an i assume is very time consuming right?

yup! it is too damn expesive if I must say, it is worth some $30 the HG series of it then it is very time consuming but just like gambling It has the feeling when you finish building it, it gives you satisfaction for the day in gambling if you win that will give you satisfaction too,

he said control yourself, not control yourself in betting. it can be fragile and may collapse anytime, so use additional methods is always welcome.

yes I had said in betting only I am not saying that he should stop gambling, because if he can control the urge he just can stop for the day but if you insist in stopping someone from gambling try changing hobby or build a gunpla  for a change!

he should stop gambling. he wants it so let him do it. you don't have to regret for him, and shouldn't. changing hobby and whatever yeah those are additional methods and as i said they are always welcome.

That's a good idea, but first you have to think of a way on how you could get away in front of your computer and lowering your bitcoin earnings..  Smiley

if you want to quit gambling you should spend all your bitcoin, bet them, buy stuff, sell or hide them in a paper wallet and berry it in the ground.

if you have no money to gamble with, you automatically will quit gambling easily.

By controlling yourself you can also control your bet. I mean that from high base bet gambling make it to lower base bet and then gradually let it gone right away. All this is is controlling from yourself so without controlling it you wont be able to control your bet too

I dont really think that you need to get out from your PC just to quit from gambling, if you set your mind that you wont gamble I think you should do it. This quitting need some discipline to make it comes thorugh if you are just want to quit but keep on thinking about it, you dont have the chance to quit for sure. Lowering your earning mean that you will keep on gambling though so if you want to quit, make sure you dont have any thought about gambling even it is a little bit

Yes, in short you can keep yourself busy so that you have no time to think about gambling. Always think about your dear ones and family first as it can spoil their life as well.

If you are serious about stopping with gambling I would advice to find a hobby like sport.
You can watch it in the evening and play it during the day. Because it's healthy you will live better too.

Sports can help but you need more then just a 'hobby'. First you need a good discipline. Knowing you are an addict your probably need to work on that. And for that it would be wise to seek help from a professional.

How does one Put down Gambling for good?

I'd contact one of the problem gambling organisations that licensed casinos are required to advertise, like Gamblers Anonymous. There seem to several of them in every country. I guess it's a lucrative business model.

Well remember they earn a lot on taxes etc. So I don't think they will just put them down.
Since it's legal to operate a casino if you follow the rules it would not make sense to just put all casino's down.
