AWESOME work - really cool!

It just worked out of the box and config is too easy. Thanks!

Maybe for future releases it would be awesome to have some external LCD hooked up to show up infos of the miners (Hashrate, earned BTC, ...) - I found several projects with LCD display for the Pi, like that here:

http://www.mikrocontroller.net/attachment/137752/dockstar.jpg

Thanks for the report!

I have been playing with various LCD to do exactly that, it is a bit more complicated for the end user to do though so I am working on putting together kits or even fully built units for people to buy.

I just need the time/capital to put it all together and minepeon as a project does not generate anything near the amount needed.  If I could get it off the ground the funds generated would go back into minepeon development.

Neil

After little research I found this nice ready to order kit made in Germany: http://shop.emsystech.de/de/Raspi-LCD-Module
Think the price is good too and it just got available again this week.

Here is a demo-video:

http://youtu.be/8Q_qomlSHHk
http://youtu.be/BZTWa-sCepQ

This would be the best way to go I think as it looks really nice working and the buttons would fit perfect too.
2nd solution would be an own "kit" - funded maybe by a kickstarter campain.

Hi,

You saw the case solution of the guy with the screen? Pretty simple - they just changed the side plate of an existing aluminium case.

Yeah I will send you some when I´m having ones again!

Is it just me?  or is the page for "stats" where you could see all the data from CGminer gone?  Maybe I set something up wrong... but the previous version "just worked" for me... this version seems to be missing some options or I did something wrong.

I did that on purpose and I am holding it for ransom, send 20 BTC to the donation address to get it back.....

Seriously though, whoops, this is why I need testers!  It is still there if you put miner.php in the URL box.

I have been having a few problems with it and forgot to put it back.

I thought you may have forgot to put the link in, so I booted up the old version I had to find the page name and already tried to go directly to it... no luck.

Also... it appears... it is not mining on the CPU anymore?  I am waiting on ASICMINER USB's but before when I was testing and running MinePeon, it was mining with the cpu... it no longer does this.

I will gladly donate!  Probably not the 20btc... but I will hook you up.  This has made getting me up and running so smooth... I am mostly an idiot when it comes to these sort of things so to have something that just works when putting in mining pool addresses... no crazy config or anything... is worth a lot to me!

Yeah, CPU mining is gone, the code is not even present in the new mining software.  It was useful for testing but that is about it.

I will see if I can get miner.php working again, but I am in the process of moving most of the usefull stuff from there into the graphs page anyway so I am not going to spend too much time on it.

FYI: Yes indeed the CPU mining code is completely gone from cgminer
There are many reasons, one of them being that it will dramatically reduce the number of trojans that will include cgminer ...
The CPU is something that most people don't even know how busy it is, so it is indeed easy to have a process consume a % of CPU power without most people knowing, though I suspect some of the botnets try to use all available CPU.
Then it can end up on 10,000 people's machines using a virus ... and suddenly it's worth (assuming ONLY 1MH/s per machine) ... more than $1500 a month at the moment ...
... of course it is easy for most CPU's to do a lot more than 1MH/s ... so feel free to multiply that $1500 number by more than 1 ...

Ahh, makes sense.  And I fully understand Kano's reasoning on removing it.

So since I have no mining device connected to the pi, would that cause CGMiner to not initialize and therefore cause the miner.php page to not work?  Or should I still get something there even with no miner attached.  Just want to make sure I got everything set up for when my beautiful USB's come in.

Sent you both a small donation, THANK YOU for your contributions to bitcoin, you both make my life far easier.

Feature request:
Would it be possible to include the R Pi temp sensor so you know how hot it's running:

Another feature request:
Would it be possible to add support for Google Authenticator's 2-factor authentication?
Here's a link I found for SSH integration.  I'm not sure if this could be integrated into the web page also:

Thanks for your work on this project. I have some Block Erupter USBs and a BFL Jalapeno on the way (should arrive this coming week)

I got the image running on my pi with no issues, up and running cpu mining with my pool accounts no problem.

I like the look of the little monochrome CRT, retro factor++ and the text is surprisingly readable.
Do you think you could change the composite video output to lower the overscan? The text ends up off screen on both this little tv and my normal one.

Hi,

I also tried Minepeon out but I got some problems with an Icarus based device.

Minepeon doesnt detect my Lancelot FPGA device, is it supposed to work or is the Lancelot Board not supported?
Or are there other things to run or install in order to get the board detected?

Thanks
Best regards

Icarus based device.

In theory it should be supported, in practice no one has tested it though.

You are in luck though, the new ASICMiner USB devices use the Icarus protocol an Kano from cgminer is doing a lot of work on it (I had cause to look at his code a few days back, he is one smart cookie).  All going well (provided I can get my hands on an ASICMiner USB device, I ran a group buy and the way it worked out I did not manage to get one myself) as soon as Kano releases it I will recompile it into MinePeon and release it.

Try the included version of bfgminer. It works for me.
