FIA is changing the test for fexi-wings during the 2025.
It will tougher for teams to cheat on it, but they will find a way imho.

It will never happen.
This is like the virus antivirus situation.
An antivirus exist for this exemple FIA, then the virus came (cars) finds the antiviurs and find a way to bypass it.
Then FIA see the virus, adapts the regulation and cars will find another way.

This is also a good way to have progress in cars and it is wonderful.

What do you guys think of the driver's championship next season.  I'm thinking it's gonna be Verstappen vs Norris with a little bit of Hamilton in there.  And we might see Norris win it.

It's still very early to predict who will win the drivers championship, but I see 4 names that have the potential to win the drivers championship - Max, Norris, Piastri, and Charles - all four of these names have the potential to win the drivers championship this season. And for Lewis himself I don't think he will be able to win the drivers championship this season considering he is new to Ferrari and he needs some time to adjust to the car. Maybe next season (or the next).

Agree with you it may be Max Norris or Charles or Hamilton but he is the one with lesser odds.

For 2026 who knows, new generation of cars will be there and always this happen the 1st year is a gamble.

After seeing the third day of the shakedown test at the Sepang circuit in Malaysia today, I think the Yamaha factory has found a little bit of a better improvement so that it was able to score a fairly good time on the third day of the test. But overall Yamaha still has to do more work to find new things that they can apply this season so that they can compete at the front with Ducati and other manufacturers. Because last season the Asian manufacturers really looked weak when compared to European manufacturers like Ducati.

Why are you guys calling it a 'cheat'?  These are just loopholes that happen to be in the gray area of the rules or not really worded specifically by the rules.

And I welcome these loopholes as this shows engineering ingenuity and skill.  The engineers who find more of them aren't the ones to be faded.  So yeah, be on the look out for what McLaren is able to cook up next season.

Another week another test.
Hamilton will do some tests this week to in Barcelona.

This will be more a real test.
This time he will be allowed to use the SF24 car.
The test will be a Pirelli test so he must follow Pirelli given requests but the positive thing is that he can use the latest car.

The SF24 will be modded to look like a SF25 car with the new regulation of the next year.
So timers will be not important.

Which team do you guys think will make the fastest lap in the official pre season testing on Feb 26 - 28?  I think the top teams like Red Bull, Mercedes, McLaren and Ferrari will prolly be sand bagging most of the time.  So the most likely team to do it might be one of the mid tier ones...  And there's one that's been trying to prove themselves as of late.  They do have one of the best drivers on the grid.  That's Aston Martin and Fernando Alonso.     

They also have Adrian Newey but I don't think he's allowed to work on Aston Martin's 2025 car as per regulations.  But he will start working on the team's 2026 car.  If this year is exciting...  Wait til next year.

Well, as I said some time ago Zhou seems likely to be the reserve driver for Ferrari, and it is no longer a rumor, but it is official that Zhou will be part of the Ferrari family as a reserve driver together with Giovinazzi. This is quite good news because Zhou is one of the drivers with potential, even though his performance at Sauber some time ago was not so optimal, but I still have confidence that he will evaluate his performance and improve it with training at the Ferrari team.
This also opens up the opportunity that Zhou will also be a candidate for a driver at GM Cadillac, where Ferrari is their power unit supplier.

Teams usually push only in the final day and the condition will be critical.
Sand is always a problem in this period of time in that track.
Also in addition of that if a team have big problems FIA usually gives 1 extra day or hours to the team with problems and in the "alone" day they often do the fast time.

So it is a big gambling adding the fact that teams tend to hide their potential

After seeing the test in Sepang yesterday and also today, it seems that the Yamaha Factory has indeed found something better to use in this season. However, I will not conclude that completely because other manufacturers such as Ducati, Aprilia and KTM are also trying to develop their engines and motorbikes as a whole to start this season with enthusiasm. I mean sand bagging is when you do not want your opponents to know how good you could be, and that is why Aston Martin doesn't need that, they are not a good team at all, and if they show off, and look better, there is nothing that other teams can do after this point anyways, and if they do suck, then it is not going to matter since they are already bad. Aside from that, everyone will just be a bit slower than their usual tests, that's it, they will just be a few seconds off, and that is all for everyone, not just one team, so nobody will show their 100% real time, not a single team.

Aston Martin is a candidate to be stronger than ever. Because they have made a big signing like Adrian Newey.    You would expect their car to be much more powerful in time as a result.

If they look convincing this season then who knows maybe they will even convince Verstappen to sign for them as well.    It isn't mission impossible in theory. Like I said before, he doesn't have a special bond with Red Bull. He just wants to be a winner.

If they can't offer him better standards at one point, he would seriously think of leaving. No matter how much he likes to work with Helmut Marko. Fernando Alonso won't race forever. Aston Martin would probably bring Verstappen in his place in that case.

Nowdays are more in the money saving thing, so the test is usually where the 1st race is to avoid transfers.
One thing to say however is that next year we will have 12 days of test due the tests for the new engines so idk if they will do all the test in the same track.

Maybe the will use the same track but different configuration, a logic move is to test in different configurations so they can have more data, and different data possible.

Alex Marquez successfully ranked first after being able to make his best time record in the three-day test in Sepang with his Ducati GP24 motorbike. While Pecco Bagnaia and Fabio Quartararo completed the second and third positions with time records not too far from Alex Marquez's. And for tomorrow all the teams in MotoGP will head to Bangkok Thailand to make a joint launch and do other important things there which may also be another test there because the MotoGP race schedule for this season is also very close and the opening will also take place in Thailand.

All of that could happen, for example Hamilton himself is able to leave Mercedes, the team that made his name and made him win the world title 7 times, let alone Max, he can move anytime if he wants. But when it will happen no one knows, what people can do so far is only speculate about his transfer to another team, but until now there are no signs that he will leave Red Bull. So now Aston Martin or any team that expects Max can only guess, the decision remains with the Dutch driver.

And now it is official, Zhou is officialy the 3rd driver.
It was a speculation until 2 days ago.

it has officially announced as reserve driver by Ferrari itself with Giovinazzi will be the reserve drivers if the official drivers will miss racers.

But Bahrain is over 15 hours travel from Australia where the first race is gonna be.  Suzuka would be perfect for pre season testing with it being at the end of Feb...  It's almost spring so the weather is gonna be a bit better, maybe warmer...  But def warmer than peak winter.

But yeah there's prolly a good reason why esp with how the warmer weather is more consistent for testing.  There's also prolly a business thing going on with the track owners of Bahrain.  Dunno...
