It seems almost every week that fake pill software is being pushed. At first it was clearly a scam because it was promoted by some newbie account, however it seems that more and more people are posting the link from a higher rank member and people are falling for it.

Most people they look at a link, then they check who posted it, if it someone with a fairly aged account, it establishes trust and people end up falling for the download. I guess that hacker is buying old accounts on Bitcointalk and starting to get clever.

So in the future, which will probably be in a few days or so since its so frequent, when you see this posted anywhere in the mining section, click the report link ASAP and the mods usually remove it fairly quickly. And whatever you do, don't requote the link posted.

Somebody must be getting some serious traction to keep posting these same scam github links for the Eth pill. I wonder if the mods have a forum filter that could be applied without filtering half of the Ethereum posts. I reported the offending post already.

But I did have to change ethminer/libethash-cuda/CMakeLists.txt to ignore old (sm_30-35 that don't work with CUDA 11) and add new 86 architecture (list(APPEND CUDA_NVCC_FLAGS "-gencode arch=compute_86,code=sm_86")).

86.5. For 2080 Ti with +300 mem OC it's 52.7.

He made crazy gains since his miner was the only decent software during the 2017 market boom and probably saved up tons of ETH and just living on an island somewhere.

There are plenty of other capable miners that mining as well if not better than Claymore (at least on the pool reported hashes end). Just because a miner says it's giving a high rate doesn't neccessarily mean it is performing the best. A lot of lazy miners don't bother looking to make sure the pool side is reflecting what the terminal side says. If dual mining was still viable this miner would be decent but those days have for the most part passed.
