According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

I think 2017 will truly be the year for bitcoin, because I feel that halving will happen in 2016, it will cause people to know about bitcoin, and start buying bitcoin

Every year has been dubbed the year of Bitcoin, but I think 2017 is more or likely the proper and correct prediction since we'll just be coming out of the halving and this could have profound effects on the people willing to accept Bitcoin due to the value differences.

BTC will be implemented more and more, because of Chinese BTC mining farms exploding. Fresh BTC will need their owners.  Wink

I would wait what the actual year has to bring for us first before trying to make outlook for 2017!
I mean we just have started with 2nd quarter. 2016 still can be the year of Bitcoin.

I am still thinking 2016 is the year of Bitcoin  Grin However, Bitcoin price and adoption rises constantly and the price stability reaches a level I have not seen since I am into Bitcoin (since 2011). It is getting more and more clear that currencies like Bitcoin belong the future and therefore the next years (probably decades) will belong to Bitcoin and other crypto currencies.

I still see what will happen after halving until the end of 2016 if the price rises pretty high, probably in 2017 will be higher Cool

2016 isn't ended, and 2015 have seen a 100% recover in the last part of the year, so they were rght after all

if it is in line with expectation, and halving actually occurred in late 2016, then in 2017 will truly be the year of bitcoin.
users of bitcoin will become millionaires and ordinary people will invest the money they have into bitcoin. I hope it really happens

I prefer to see more about the near future so i think that also 2016 is a good year for the bitcoin as the price starting from this week is keeping increasing and this is a good thing, and i hope the price will get much higher before and after the halving.

Bitcoin's success isn't tied to a certain year. Every year so far has been the year of Bitcoin as it has been growing constantly.

BSV is not the real Bcash. Bcash is the real Bcash.

A lot of things might still happen, before 2017. I am predicting a slight increase in price, between $500 and $600 around the Halving and then a strong decrease as people reach the selling point and the

supply increase on the exchanges. Going into 2017 we will see a decline in price again, because most people would be concentrating on their holidays and festive spending. I hope by then that the

OpenBazaar concept would have gained some momentum and that it would boost the Bitcoin economy.  Huh

Bitcoin wasn't at its best in last year but it has started to grow now in this year and we expect the same in coming years and halving will help us to see best price of bitcoin.

I also think its too early to call 2017 the year of the bitcoin, I honestly think the year of the bitcoin will be this year because of the halving and the growing part from users and also stores that are coming up everyday.
