Exactly, but that data we can get is the basis of our estimate and if we are investing in bitcoin our estimate is very important to us as that is our only basis for our decision, we are just predicting the future of bitcoin base on the estimate number of users now.

It can not be predicted. But I wish this should reach out to everyone in every corner and everyone should start using the bitcoins. The government should accept it and allow the people to use the bitcoins everywhere. The bitcoin would become much popular and the value of this would surely increase still more than what will be expected. The economy market will see a great spike in profit as well.

No any government can stop people from using bitcoin so number of bitcoin users may not depend upon any governmental decision but it is true that if government also facilitate the process of exchanging bitcoin to fiat and vice-versa number of bitcoin users can increase significantly as well as number of bitcoin accepting merchants will increase for sure.

Yeah that is impossible to come at exact figure of users using it as outside this forum we don't know who are using it many of them will never prefer to disclose the fact that they are using bitcoins.

It is very hard to predict that as there are lots of people using more than one wallet and bitcoin provides anonymity to it's users making it hard to trace back to the user. Governments around the world has realized that bitcoin and block chain has a part to play for the future and this is why we see Russia turning back from it's anti bitcoin view and China declaring bitcoin is people's right!

IMHO, bitcoin is here to stay and will enjoy the support of it's loyal followers. There is no doubt about that.

I guess the total number would be few millions, 5 or 6 millions but it's difficult to even consider the number since there aren't any surveys or calculating for the user number but the only problem is that addresses and wallets barely really identify the number of users.

No one could  really give a precise  prediction on this  matter hence   there are new surveys regarding on this matter and  would really takes time  to count though because  bitcoin is anonymous and we wont know  who uses it  on a particular address and also some people do use  multiple  adresses.

This is a big question to me. Though i have been doing some work and earning some decent amount of bitcoin,i never bother to keep holding it for long time, hence i convert it to US dollar to pay some of my bills. I use to have only 0.05 to 0.1 in hand,not that much.

I think there's none, because bitcoin network is compose of the bitcoin users, buyers, and investors. It's users are getting increased or decreased everyday, it's like technology to be precise. It can't be determine or know the exact amount or number of it's users since it is changing everyday. But if you're really curious about it, I think it is better if you would dive into the deep web, maybe you can find something there that can tell how many bitcoin users are active in doing bitcoin right now.

Maybe we can not give exact figures because most know is who made it, he must have accurate data. If we determine the number of users of the amount used bitcoin wallet I think it is less effective because everyone is free to use more than one bitcoin wallet. But if we talk about bitcoin users in 2016 I am sure there is an increase in the number but I do not know for sure.

even with consensus or survey can't give you the right number of people using bitcoin because there's still a big chance you will get the wrong answer,and there's always someone who hiding and keep silence so it's not a good solution  i guess, i'm still in my opinion that counting the actual number of people using bitcoin is impossible

Is there a way to determine the number of people who are actually using Bitcoin till date? Who would have access to such information? Meaning a way to find out, how many new people have used Bitcoin in 2016 , so that we can say exponential growth is natural not artificially created by hoarders.

It will be very difficult to determine the actual number of the people who used bitcoin in crypto world. Even there is a history in the different exchange platform who invested bitcoin that won't be enough to count the precise number of the users, but in my estimation its round about almost 1 million users already.

I do believe we are around 400k using bitcoin, even without a way to confirm those numbers, like someone said its the transactions being made daily around those, soo i do believe one person makes more then one transaction, anyway at 2017 we will get more people inside for sure.

If we know the number of transactions per day I think we can estimate roughly the number of Bitcoin users. First, we should take into account that not every single transaction is made by a unique user. Second, we should be aware of the fact that not all the active users are making transactions every day.

So if the number of transactions per day equals 400-450k I think this means around 100k unique users who were making transactions in that particular day. Now I think that only 1% of all users are involved in transaction activity every particular day, which makes the total number to be equal to around 10 million.

I repeat this was a very rough estimation and the real number might be anything between 3 million and 20 million IMO.

And that 2 million people estimated could be lessen because some of the people or users have different bitcoin address use, there is not way we are a big population, it is really true that we are just 1% of the total population so we need to accept that, we are growing and that matters.

I think bitcoin users all over the is not measurable.It cannot be count base on just bitcoins wallet account in every registered user because they can create multiple accounts of bitcoin wallets.Maybe you can estimate it on every transactions that is being processed by blockchain.Because there are about millions or even billions of bitcoin users online around the world.

That's right.You can not measure number of users by counting the addresses or wallets.
Furthermore we are far away from having billions of bitcoin users.I would guess the number is around 3-5 million mostly.So a really tiny number at the moment.

WE cam't really messaure number of users who are really uses bitcoin and the bitcoins address can be multiple and they can use multiple address per person and if you are going to count one by one people are not really only everyday and can't seen when the updates happen.
