Hi all,
I'm pretty new to bitcoins and my main focus is on mining! I'm not really out to make cash or anything I just like to tinker with computers, and mining looks like a fun way to do it
I'm currently mining on a single 5850 which I set up over the weekend (and have made 0.25 BTC so far, w00t). I overclokced it a bit and managed to get 310 MHash/sec pretty easily. From my brief readings it looks like significant performace gains can be got from underclocking your GPU. Not really sure why this is but hopefully some of you guys can help me out with that.
cheers JP

yo ho, been following bitcoin for about two years now. started mining when i built a new gaming rig a year ago. now that i have some stake in bitcoin i follow it religiously, but i also wholeheartedly believe that it will take off massively in the next year or two. or at the very least spawn an even better cryptocurrency. very exciting time to be here!

Hello everyone, I was just introduced to Bitcoin a month ago and I'm already hooked! I already got some and I'm planning to create a local exchange site for my country by the end of the year so I spend a lot of time on the forums to learn as much as I can .

Learning all I can about BTC. I have a technical background, but not in the computing hardware arena.
I wouldn't mind building a rig, but with the coming advent of ASIC (I am looking to invest in ASIC!, too), I don't think it would help except for educational purposes... So, in order to get mining before the difficulty goes up tenfold, I need to purchase something for the time being.
Maybe I should start a thread as to not hijack this one.
I wish I would have listened to the guys on the Daily Paul a couple of years ago... (sigh)

Hey my name is Carl I have been mining for about 2 months now, built a rig and started trading with bitcoins. I absolutely love the the idea of bitcoins and I have been using these forums for the immense amounts of knowledge I just recently decided to sign up and contribute!
If I would have known about the newbie restriction I would have signed up ages ago and my logged time fill up.

Hi all
Been mining now for about a month. I have a background in computers, don't know why I haven't looked into bitcoin before. Finding the forums have a wealth of knowledge and have enjoyed lurking over the past few weeks. Being a coin collector I'm very interested in the Casascius 1 BTC Coin.

lo all,
i was changing money from LR to STP and fees go up as high as 9%. my eye fell on the fee costs for bitcoins which were 0% so I had a look into it.
tried bitcoin client but downloading the blockchain takes ages so I now i'm using electrum.
heck, i even started mining bitcoins in a bitpool
i like the idea of decentralized payments, the banks are making a mess and the goverment involvements are to big anyway. hooray for bitcoins!

I'm new to board, been eyeing BTC for a couple years. I'm now a new investor and new miner of bitcoins. We will see how this plays out. As Europe financial institutions crumble, bitcoin may stand as a savior and safe zone for people who save money and are responsible with their finances. People of Cyprus are about to get ~10% of their savings confiscated by Government: http://mobile.reuters.com/article/idUSBRE92G03I20130317?irpc=932
