Hi Everyone, I'm new here.
So I've been reading a lot about Bitcoins for the last few days, and I think it's a beautiful ideal. I certainly want to see it succeed, as over the last few years I've begun to understand whom inflation systems really are geared to benefit the most, and it's not me, nor the vast majority of people I know.
I'm interested in the permanently currency capped system (although 21Million is faaar too few BTC for the whole world to have a share in, even down to 8 decimals (that's 3000 microBTC per person currently on earth...hoarding = major economic failure, unless I'm misunderstanding something, which I must be, because I doubt no one else has realized this by now). I've heard both that it can be split down infinitely, and that it goes to 8 decimals, so I'm a bit confused about that. There does need to be a more natural way to split coins (i've seen that already mentioned in a few threads, though) - mainstream will never accept 0.00000005334 as a satisfactory payment amount
.
I'm not really interested in the fact that this is supposedly anonymous (although I don't actually believe that's completely the case), but I
love the fact that it is run via p2p. The anonymous thing may actually be something that will turn legitimate businesses away - association with shadiness. There's so much pain governments already cause small businesses, and cheating income is a terrible risk to take, when they can easily see what you've bought with the "$1000 income you declared last tax year". To encourage businesses to sign up, they mustn't be enticed by the "Tax man won't know what you're doing" factor, as that will just cause this currency to have too many enemies. I believe more businesses will actually join if honesty and trust (verified = pref) is what the whole network is based on.
I believe the benefits of a system like this (secure and relatively fast transfers, no "owner" setting new rules) can win support on their own merit. I, for one, am interested in creating value for the currency, by creating bitcoin only products if I can - for it to succeed it needs something to compare itself to other than another currency (which is all its doing now).
Anyway does that count as 5 posts? or should I edit and split it all up
