Hey, i've been mining for a few weeks now (first couple of weeks was on an 8800GTS that only did about 30 mh/s) but only recently got a 5870 and started mining properly. Just recently decided to stop being a lurker Smiley even though I should really be writing my final year project proposal.
Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

Hello.

Didn't that guy that invented the telephone invent the word hello?
I guess he thought it would be funny to get all of the very rich, very christian aristocrats saying "hell" every time the introduced themselves to each other.

I think hacking has always existed, in one form or another. Probably how the pyramids were made i bet.
UFOs hacking primitives for kicks....

hi all... i am no troll but seriously suspect the admins are trying to mimic real world banking elitism by placing so many hurdles in the way of leaving simple comments and making contributions .. i am asking repeatedly how to deregister from this site. i would never have joined if i realised they were this bad.. Please just allow me to deregister and make that function available to all who would rather leave....

thanks

So, I've read enough about Bitcoin mining that I think I can do a little something with it.  I used to like to build and overclock computers and play games but have kind of been out of that scene for several years now.  Bitcoin looks like as good of an excuse as any to jump back in! Smiley

I have three computers that all I need to do is upgrade the video cards and I'm off and running.  I'm looking at Radeon HD 6770s right now as the price to performance ratio seems pretty good. How good is the 6770 for actual gaming?  The 128-bit memory makes me think it might not be so great for gaming.  I mostly play Team Fortress 2 if I play anything these days.

No dreams of getting rich but if I can get the cards to pay for themselves in a few months then that would be a success story as far as I'm concerned.

P.S.  Who out there can guess how my forum name relates to Bitcoin?  Smiley

Hi all.
I just found bitcoin because of all the news coverage.
I'm currently mining with my desktop at about 75Mhash/s and wired 150$ to Mt Gox to buy some coins. I hope that the money will be available by Tuesday.

"Due to spam, non-established users can only post in the "newbies" section."

This actually just leads to spam, in the newbie section, and I hate to post "useless" stuff  Undecided
