Hi, I'm mnemonix and I'm especially interested in FPGA based bitcoin mining because I've been working quite a while with FPGAs. I already found one FPGA miner here: http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=9047.0Are there other miners out there? All the best, mnemonix

Hi, I have a 5870 and am trying to get hashkill working in Ubuntu 10.04 (MythTV server), and I want to post in this thread: http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=6819.300So I can ask how to get over this problem I am having: $ hashkill-gpu -p bitcoin hashkill-gpu: /usr/lib/nvidia-current/libOpenCL.so: no version information available (required by hashkill-gpu)
[hashkill] Version 0.2.5 [hashkill] Plugin 'bitcoin' loaded successfully [error] (ocl-threads.c:97) clGetPlatformIDs returned error (no OpenCL installed?) [hashkill] Threads queue size: 128 plaintexts/thread I'm pretty sure that this is because I'm trying to get this going on Ubuntu 10.04 and it's probably got an older version of the SDK, but I don't know which SDK we are talking about Thanks!

Hi,
I came here for general info etc about bitcoin. I heard from bitcoin a year ago but I then thought, oh it's just a hype it will be over in a few months... But now I'm here just out of curiousity and reading here and there, also looking for a BitCoin Market invite.
that's all

I am here to read stuff about things and write stuff about other things.
ok, I will actually take this seriously.
I originally came to this forum to learn about bitcoin, what it is, what it takes to mine, etc. after reading a story on slashdot. It made me think alot of the SETI@HOME project but with a monetary component. Heck, I always thought that distributed computing was a great idea but the small additional electricity cost would certainly add up.
I think that there is alot of potential for small exchanges without the need for regulation. I akin it more to a cash transaction with no boundaries.
With conversion rates, transaction fees and all the other fees, if I send my friend $100USD via paypal, that's $3 in fees. More if there is a currency exchange, even more if a credit card is involved. I hate paypal. I love their service. I hate their fees.
Oh, I also do scripting and c# dev work.
and, someone is behind you, watching you read this post. Yeah you.
