Hello folks, trying to figure out to operate in bitcoin safely for larger amounts.  Seems like if you invest too much you make yourself a target for hackers.

Hello everyone!

 I'm still new to mining. Currently running BAMT with a 5850/5830 combo getting about 640-650 MHash. I've already learned so much from this site by lurking, but now I've decided to start posting. I've also conducted one transaction in the marketplace with jaebird for the 5830 that I am currently using. I'm glad to see there is such a good community between everyone here.

Howdy folks.  Just another long time lurker that finally decided to work his way out of newbie purgatory.

I'm an indie writer (fantasy/scifi), so the microtransaction potential of bitcoin jumped out to me from the start, and I've been lurking ever since.

greetings. i'm just hoping to learn a bit more by interacting with the community (as opposed to simply reading). basically, according to my research, this is the best place to come to collaborate on BitCoin related ideas and projects. i guess i have to work my way out of newbie purgatory first though.

@Lorguir
What's your URL?

We don't currently have a site yet but will get it developed once we can find some staff from inside the company willing to take on the job (it's not easy to find such people). Also forgive the slow reply,I don't get a chance to visit here often due to my work.

Hey everyone. I'm not new to bitcoin (been using it for about a year now). Looking to trade some goods (my battle.net and Steam account mostly) and see what's happening with bitcoins. Used to make some good $$ mining (27 btc in 3 months and used to be #9-12 on BTCmine (fluctuated).. So Yeah.

Hey all,

Been mining and lurking on this forum for a year now. Finally decided to register as I think I'll need to make some connections with other forum members to transact BTC and USD. The current situation with MtGox and Dwolla is a pain to deal with so it's time I trade over-the-counter with others.

Good day

Been interested in BTC for about a year after hearing about it on the EconTalk podcast. Since then I been buying coins, lurking the forum and awaiting my BFL Single (maybe in the next shipment?). Undergrad degree in Economics, worked in US financial markets, and software developer by profession for over a decade. I'd like to think BTC is one of those "wild west" opportunities that you get a few times in a lifetime and manage to stumble into once if you are lucky. Either it fades out or implodes, or shifts the world a bit.

Hi all

I am a software developer / computer hobbyist from Switzerland ... p2pool mining since April

Just started a little experiment:
after increasing my hash rate to 1GH/s I decided do direct about 40% to two centralized PPS pools for a week or 2. There is an ongoing debate about bad performance of p2pool compared to pps ... I want my own answer comparing the earnings between different pools.

... my interest in the technical problems supersedes my greed for big money  Grin

cheers and have fun in the forum !
