Makes sense but its rather rude on people who lurk and just want to post on 1 topic thats it, lurked for years decide to signup one day... go to post on the topic they would like to then find out they cant.....
its kinda painfull, but i can respect that..

Nobody's lurked for years on the forum. For those who claim they did, how could they never have discovered the newbie forum and this requirement? Chances are they didn't find the FAQs about posting etiquette either. |

Due to a mass of trolling, only established posters are able to post in non-newbie sections. You are considered "established" if you have spent 4 hours online and have made 5 posts. If you have really good posts, you can post a request for preemptive whitelisting in the appropriate topic. Also: - You must have made one post in order to send PMs. - You need 10 posts to put a link in your signature. Note that it may take up to 10 minutes for your PM or posting permissions to be granted. I think 4 hours online is too much. I think that it should be 1 hour, maybe 2, but not more. |

There's nothing wrong with the 4 hours requirement. I guess really special cases might come up, but how often do you really need to reply to something within 4 hours as newcomer?

Hi, first of all sorry if I'm doing wrong replying on this post. The thing is that I've been looking for the way to send a PM to buy some bitcoins but then I realized that how I'm newbie I'm not allowed to do that if I didn't post first.
