...never got above 550 in linux until I did a memory strap (1500 copied up), and now I'm getting solid 600 on stock settings. They run pretty hot but I think that's due to crappy reference design fan.
I have ~570h/s on 2 cards and 630h/s on the 3rd. Didn't use overclocking yet. What tool did you use to change the memory strap? Do you experience crashes like "GPU DEAD" or system hangs after a couple of hours? polaris bios editor. which works on the elpida 470 but not the 480. every once in a while i get a dead card, no system crashes at all. part of the reason I run from console, it's the desktop and display manager that make things complicated. \

The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

If anyone is using SGMiner-GM with Windows to mine XMR with a RX 470 or RX 480, I would appreciate posting your h/s. Thanks. Thinking of picking up a few.

I've been using the 5.5.5 Ubuntu64 binary, and it has worked well with both 4.8/16.40 and 4.10/16.60. Eth mining with a Sapphire Rx470 and custom straps gets ~28.95 at 2100 mclk. When I lock the core at 1169, I get a small boost to ~29.1. For comparison, Claymore 8.1 gets ~30.2Mh at 1169/2100 on the same box.

I tested Gygabyte G1 rx 480 4G => 860H/S. But no idea if stable long term, it was just a try.

I just tried gpu-threads 2 thanks to a tip from Eliovp, and it gives me about a 1% speed boost. Only seems to work on AMDGPU-Pro, since when I tried it with fglrx the kernels failed to load.

Anyone can share their syntax for sgminer-gm for mining at:

Which coin would you like to mine? If I were you, I would try stratum. Getwork is slower then stratum ( in stratum mode, server broadcast the block info to the miners. In getwork mode, miners get the block info from the server. Miners ask to the server periodically. This makes some delays, and much data traffic... If you need help, I can assist you.

SOLO MINING BY GETWORK-- The question was about solo mining. Solo mining is done with a coin wallet, usually on the same computer, or in the same local network, as the miner. If the miner is on the same computer as the coin wallet,, the IP would be " http://127.0.0.1:port". Many parameters are within the configuration file for the coin wallet. It would be helpful to know what coin(s) are the target of your solo-mining. Some coins and coin wallets are more difficult to work with. As a side note, Claymore's Dual Miner has a number of new miners misusing the term "solo mining", using the term instead to refer to only mining a single coin. I think the proper term when using Claymore's miner shoud be "single mining" when it is used to only mine only an Etherium-type coin. Some pools are set up as "solo mining pools", however, where the block-finding miner gets the full reward. Connections to a mining pool are more efficient when a stratum protocol is used. --sryptr

Does it matter if you solo mine locally? LOCAL SOLO MINING BY GETWORK-- Wallets support GetWork. Most pools require stratum. GetWork is fast enough when used on a single computer (locally) with the wallet. It also is effective within a local net (LAN). With the right software, a personal pool could be set up and stratum could be used locally. I have never tried to do this. --scryptr

Hi there! What is the difference between Zawawa's gatelessgate miner and actual version of sgminer-gm in terms of preformance?
HE HAS IMPROVED GATELESS-GATE PERFORMANCE-- I do not have a detailed comparison, but his code has improved since first being imported into SGminer-GM. His "Gateless-Gate" Equihash performance is approaching that of Claymore's miner. --scryptr
