Yup, that is a "vanity" hashrate - it's not efficient, it's the max possible. I can take one of low power with wattage, if you want.

Can you please do that? Thanks!

Hey guys, I've been having some issues, especially recently.

I keep getting "miner thread hangs". I've used the settings in the readme, I'm using 16.12.2 with the 11.1 release, and I'm not mixing cards (for the most part) but even when I'm not, the problem persists. "Miner thread hangs, need to restart miner" except it needs to be restarted manually, watchdog doesn't seem to work here.

I thought part of the problem may have been something like not using dummy plugs, but even setting the screen to never turn off and just letting it sit, the problem seems to persist. I've tried very low intensities, down to -i 2 on several rigs, with again, the same problem.

For any of you who've had this problem, how did you fix it, if at all? It just sucks to realize while I went to sleep for 8 hours, my rigs conveniently stopped mining... Any ideas?

Try using 15.12 or 16.3.2 Drivers, that's what Claymore recommends.

What is the performance of R9 380 cards?

Not great. Like 160-180 sol/s max.

You want a 280 or 280x because of higher memory bus width. the 280/x can give about what a 480 8gb can. ~240-260 sol/s

Well the problem is my biggest rig are RX 480's and still has those problems, but he seems to recommend 16.12.2 for Polaris. Still, I suppose it is worth a try. Even if I lose a little hashrate, I guess I'd prefer better stability over more speed. It'll work out higher in the end anyway. Tongue

are you oc'ing or have hacked bios, my 480's are running great, currently running 16.11.3, just reverted to it today for pasc and was on 16.12.2.

It seems like as Claymore's releases have come out, my rigs have become less and less stable. At least as a rule. Claymore's... Erm, 9.2, was it? It ran without a hitch. Maybe like once every 5 days a rig would go down. That's steadily gotten worse. Same with his Ethereum dual miner. When I was mining ethereum, I had to go back to previous releases to run stable.

I think the biggest thing to try is the driver change I guess...

Oh and I was oc'ing, but that still didn't affect anything on previous miner versions. On the 480's, I've been doing 1333/2100 with a small undervolt and no change on power limit. Ran like a top. Not anymore though. And so of course I've been having the same issues with the 470's I have, and when I go back to previous versions, they do run much more reliably, but hashrate does take a hit unfortunately. Still, I guess between the two, I'd rather reliability over raw hashrate if rigs go down every few hours...

I'm running sapphire nitro oc and they are "oc'd to the limit" out of the box, their default is 1343/2000.  From what I've read 2000 is about the upper limit of a 480.  Also you don't get much hashing just instability.  Might be worth a try at 2000.  I've been getting 265-270 on i4 and no oc on my part Claymore 11.1 and had run over 7 days before I messed with pasc.

Claymore has always been stable for me, but I have the Corsair AX1500i power supply.

Improvements in hash rate comes with higher power consumption.
Newer versions require more wattage.

Best thing to do is get a Kill-A-Watt and measure the wattage from the wall.
If you're using close to the max wattage your PSU can handle, then it will crash more often.

I'm running that driver for 390's for about 5 days now, no problems. Used 16.11.5 before with 1 card hanging regularly. Grin
My hashrate still 343-355, all base clocks.

Also custom straps, but highly undervolted Cheesy
Doing ~1500S/s with 5 rx 480 drawing only 550W ATW.

Can you send settings or upload ROM somewhere? Or someone can send bios with lower power consumption but not much hashrate decrased?

Thanks.

Yup, that is a "vanity" hashrate - it's not efficient, it's the max possible. I can take one of low power with wattage, if you want.

Can you please do that? Thanks!
