Any more ideas would be most gratefully welcome.

I can only recommend more aggressive down-tuning, e.g.  turning the x16 into a x8 or x4.

I really need to do temperature monitoring and card throttling with NVAPI. What a shame this
is a Windows-only API, as far as I know.

Ah wait, this is keccak. So the -b and -i might not actually be used yet. Keccak is like in half-
finished, but working state.

Thanks, then in all honesty here with $1500 budget just for cards which one would you recommend?

I cannot recommend any AMD cards because I really have no clue about AMD.

www.reddit.com/r/litecoinmining  will likely get you the help you want. Or other users in this thread may chip in.

Christian

P.S. I will be throwing some 20-30 kHash/s at Yacoin solomining again. Lower power consumption and noise. Fair return. Potential for betterment of exchange rate. Low network hash rate, perfectly solo-able.

Apologies to be a pain, but if I were wanting to mine Yacoin or Microcoin which release [date?] would be the best and possibly what settings for an evga gtx580 ?

I've been following for a good while but I got somewhat lost with the rapid fire kernel updates for jane and max updates so I'm unsure where we sit with which release is best for which coin / type, and possibly even settings. I also have a gtx 460 I can apply to mining but not sure if worth it. I have been mining Vert since before it took off using the 580 and 460.

Thank you. Appreciate the great cuda / nvidia community here and esp Christian's hard work.

grab the stable release 2014-02-04 ...

scrypt-jane with N factors 12 and above should use lower letter kernel denominations. In your case the f (fermi) Kernel.  just autotune, and try some various lookup gap values, starting at -L 1 and working yourself upwards...

maybe someone else can weigh in on Microcoin...

Hello,

It might sound weird, but I have 3 660 ti cards, which I bought for other CUDA related stuff, and I am not sure what to do with them. At this moment they are in random office pc. Would it ne worth it to invest money in a case and+MB+CPU+RAM <8200 to 2500 euros+electricity)  to do mining or just sell them for 300 euros in Germany.

MB+CPU+RAM = 2500euros ?

I know this doesn't belong here but I really have to ask: Did anyone else encounter crashes with microcoin.exe? When I launch the darn file I get to see the logo for 2 seconds then it says "Microcoin.exe has stopped working". Doesn't seem to be a whole lot of help to find by googling it either. It is as if there's some files missing but I can't figure out which ones, and the microcoin site isn't really helping.

I know it doesn't close properly, but that seems to be the case with alot of wallets, stuck with 1 thread in taskmanager and force-quit does not work.

Mined MRC for 18 hours yesterday with 2 660 ti's and came up with half a million. Just sold 250,000 for 0.25 LTC. Normally I make .2 LTC in 24 hours Smiley

Plus I like the big big numbers...makes it feel like I'm actually doing something haha.
Anyone Solo Mining MRC?

awesome, sorry my ignorance, are you mining solo? and would you be able to share your setup? I'm still in the research phase, I'm wondering if it is really profitable after all the electricity, etc. 0.2 LTC does not sound very profitable to pay bills.

Nope with a pool. -H 2 -i 0 -D --algo=scrypt-jane:Microcoin -b 8192 -L 0 -l K28x8 -o stratum+tcp://mrc.blocksolved.com:3310 -O...

Hahaha I don't really care about bills since electricity is free here at school :p

Has anyone used CudaMiner with the Tesla K series cards?  How do they perform compared to the regular GPU cards?

Yep, I have 4x k10 and 2x C2050

I get 120kh/s per k10, so 480kh/s total on VTC.
./CudaMiner/cudaminer --algo=scrypt:2048 -u user -p secret -o pool -d 0,1,2,3 -i 0,0,0,0 -H 1 -l K64x4 --no-autotune -C 1

85kh/s per C2050, so 170kh/s total on VTC.
./CudaMiner/cudaminer --algo=scrypt:2048 -u user -p secret -o pool --no-autotune -d 0,1 -i 0,0 -l F14x16 -C 1 -H 1

Someone asked if you need to have something else installed to mine, answer is no, you don't need

Yes, of course there is going to be a "the way it is supposed to be mined" campaign and they want to be profitable shovel sellers. However I expect to pay for substance, not for marketing.

Yep, and part of the price of any of their systems, if produced will include marketing, but if they are smart they will realize that Price/Watt is the single highest driver for card selection and they won't drastically inflate the price as they tend to, it'd just be shooting themselves in the foot, lol.

Your'e right Christian, the -b and -i arguments seem to make no difference.

Tried these

K56x8 gives  21000 khs  80C in 5 mins
K56x4   "      14450 khs  76C in 5 mins
K48x4   "      12350 khs  75C in 30mins

There must some settings to tweak somewhere because I was getting 22000 mhs @ 65C with cgminer but it gave too many rejects and kept freezing, anyway i'll give it another try tomorrow, many thanks for you help.

New cards, new CUDA mining possibilities!

http://www.fudzilla.com/home/item/33922-geforce-gtx-750-ti-maxwell-prices-and-listing
http://www.fudzilla.com/home/item/33920-nvidia-geforce-gtx-titan-black-pictured

The 750Ti will be pretty interesting since it is rumored to be very efficient.

Of course the Titan black is a best of both worlds 780Ti + Titan cross so it should set a new record for single card Nvidia mining.

What are you mining with keccak? I guess MaxCoin time is over with this diff.

Also, any notable Coin where my gtx770 could be atleast competitive to radeons(so i can earn any money)? Smiley

Cheers

Scrypt-jane, I'd say Ultracoin, Microcoin or Yacoin (my favorite).

Christian, I read about serie 8, Maxwell on Wikipedia...

Since they will have ARM controller, is that an indication that they will allow standalone operation, or it's only evidence that I should lay off the shrooms? Tongue I mean, running linux INSIDE the device is something that technically is "possible".  All they need is power and interface with an USB hub (pendrive for booting and storage, and wifi dongle).

I mean, I'm not saying that NVidia will ever pull such a stunt if/because there is no market, but does the chip actually allow for the device I just described?
