what's the next coin with a new algorithm where nvidia has an edge over ati? Wink

don't know. Find me one with:

a) a large hype about the launch (celebrity coin?)
b) featuring a simple, parallelizable hashing algorithm for which
no GPU miners have been written yet
c) developers only providing CPU miners at or just before the launch date

keep me posted about candidates...

Christian

Yes I am waiting on it aswell. I made enough from the maxcoin to pay off my bills. Other coins are just about paying for themselves. So I may aswell wait for the next big coin :-)

Still earning 1BTC daily with Maxcoin. two times more profit as altcoins. I wonder how the multipool & co folks think about this. They mining DOGE all the time lol. To think we earn their whole month salary in just one day with Maxcoin. lol Sorry but I can't stop smiling right now

lol I think so. Diff goes up to over 54k and the price drops to 0.002 already. It seems that my prediction is right again. Although it comes sooner than I expected but I think we having fun the last 3 days, and we are able to give you a little to your birthday, Christian Wink

What's your setup like, and settings?

Sorry I miscalculate because the diff goes faster than I expected. Only 0.5BTC per day. I have 8Ghs SHA-3 in total, so earning estimates are 250 MAX/day ( Yesterday I was able to get 500 MAX).

I manage to squeeze out 1 Ghs more with my last 2xR9 290 today. But 2Ghs performance from your cudaminer doesn't change, Christian. And at the first day of this madness I was able to earn 10BTCs with our advantage cudaminer.

much less profitable if you don't have that hashing power... I think it will be my last day on maxcoin.

you could mine a few more and speculate on a rising coin value later on. That's what I did with MRC. And I still hold a few UTC.

Any support for BlakeCoin wanted? Looks like a candidate that is no more
difficult to add than SHA-3.

also: Maxcoin was a straight fork of BlakeCoin. Proof: https://i.imgur.com/8Nj4aVw.png

Hi Christian, how about Riecoin? http://riecoin.org/
Supposed to be launched Tuesday night, a new primecoin algorithm, CPU miners only...

they will publish their algo only at launch day. Hmm. Prime number search seems rather
difficult even on GPUs. it requires BIGNUM maths, which is hard to implement on GPUs.

we are really talking about only a few... In 4 hours, I must have made something like 1~2 maxcoins...  (that's kind of pathetic...  Grin)
Anyhow, I am going to buy a new card, so I can double my hashing power (I was thinking to buy another 780ti, but I think it might be better to wait for the maxwell serie and settle in the mean time for a cheap R9-280)

Hi,

Been following this thread for a while and this made my gtx 660 a little more profitable! Thanks to the developer!

Now finding a new coin that is not as crappy as that max abomination.. Hope that those coins rise in value though!
Shame the MRC isn't as valuable as the doges.. would be very nice!

i think that depends if we can find something to use it for besides max later down the line.

It depends on it's profitability. Is it better than Maxcoin's at the moment?

That would be interesting. If implemented cudaminers would crash a true CPU only coin. Cheesy

If performance is to be on par with maxcoins, it looks like it's selling for 0.060000 which is much better than Maxcoins. Though, difficulty is probably way skewed.

it would be similar to doing prime95 on a cpu benchmark. but with much faster crunching from a gpu

it will be interesting to see how we perform on blakecoin, its been out much longer and still has a good price
#
checked prices, their 0.06 micro btc :p
so 0.00006btc each
