A GTX 460 will get between 40-50 khs,

I only use what I have which happens to be a single GTX460, and while I wouldn't normally have mentioned it  Embarrassed ...I get up to 150khs mining Litecoin and more if I overclock it but at the moment its summer here and so with no special cooling I am somewhat limited by GPU temp. I try not to run it over much over 80C.
Mining Max I get 50ghs lol sounds impressive, but not economic of course.

:p Needed some rest...hmmm, your advanced vtc settings are slower on my card when pool mining, compared to --benchmark.
Aaaaaand, got my 780 to do 5.33kh/s mining yac but it crashed overnight :/

cudaminer.exe --algo=scrypt-jane:YAC -d gtx780 -i 0 -b 8192 -C 2 -L 6 -l t12x32 (yac)

cudaminer.exe -q --algo=scrypt:2048 -d GTX780 -C 0 -b 512 -i 1 -m 1 -H 2 -l T12x20 (vtc)

Should I use x86 or x64 win version for these coins?
Thanks again...

EDIT: maybe this will help someone:the new Z kernel works best for VTC, the new nvidia optimized one that is.
Getting up to 335kh/s now, and it seems stable at 1293mhz core and stock memory.

Yac might have crashed cause of unstable memory, gonna try it at stock with oced core and see how it goes. VTC seems more profitable though.

cudaminer.exe -q --algo=scrypt:2048 -d GTX780 -C 0 -b 512 -i 1 -m 1 -H 2 -l Z12x20 (vtc) -> 335kh/s (and as low as 252kh/s...pretty wild swings but mostly 300+)

I got the strange effect that while Google Chrome is started and visible the hash rates are higher. Does not even have to show a specific web page.

But for now I've stopped mining VTC via p2pool because there is currently a problem with low hash rate workers not getting paid what they should. A fix will be rolled out by VTC p2pool operators soon hopefully.

Can someone confirm this happens also if the interface is running on different card?  Is it possible that running flash forces some kind of performance mode?

Flash? No but Google Chrome definately enables 3d mode (maximum performance)

I've found that I can go from 65 MH to 102 MH mining Maxcoins if I just open an avi in VLC player and put it on repeat.  It doesn't need to be fullscreen or anything, I usually just minimize it.

I do the chrome trick btw...even with it in the background hash rate fluctuates between 290-335kh/s, but eventually settles more around the 300+ area. Guess that's good for a 780 non ti.

Crap, yac crashes no matter what...took it 30 min though.

Gonna have to mine VTC and eat the extra heat :/

The X server on linux allows to set max performance on the card which run the server. Is this what happens when you start chrome or vlc?

What kind of hashrates are Radeon cards getting? Maybe it's worth buying an ATI card so I have both nVidia and ATI accessible. Could be useful for Stacycoin and more!

I was wondering if anyone on this forum  who knows of anyone that has a copy of the maxcoin-qt.exe version that would work on windows 8, as I have tried the other one and it works for about, 30 sec, but then it crashes , with a memory exception error, my lappy has 16gb of ram and 2 512gb ssds and is a i7 4700qm asus, and I have increased memory so that the computer has more memory threw the settings on windows 8. but still doesn't work and I have run it under admin as well..so do you know of anyone that has a version of the maxcoin-qt.exe that will work on windows 8 if so can you let me know if you get a chance.

if anyone can help me please can you just pm me please.

once again thanks to everybody for helping in the past and hopefully with this problem.

thx

command line good, gui bad...

seriously, I gave up on that... might suggest to the maxcoin dev to buy a windows 8 licence with the profit they made...

This is completely off topic

as we are all nvidia users i thought i would ask an nvidia question NOT about mining :p
right now i have a 50" plasma on my pc, gaming gives me annoying screen brn so i am going to switch for a 47" led 3d tv

has anyone used nvidia 3d with their 3d tv? and is anything extra needed?
im looking to play some to try it as i've never experienced 3d other then in the cinema

I am not sure if that is even possible. The traditional modern system (not the traditional traditional 10+ years old one!) requires normally the NVidia 3D kit. This kit only works with PCs and PC Screens (which are "NVIDIA 3D Vision ready") as far as I'm informed.
I saw now that there also is a software only solution on sale http://www.nvidia.com/object/3dtv-play-overview.html
I've never tried it though because I haven't hooked up my PC to the TV.

[edit]
Just used google. It seems you can use it with most TVs that are 120 Hz, but you better check if other people had success with it.

nVidia sells an additional license to drive 3D TVs via HDMI for DirectX gaming.

It's called 3D TV Play. Just their way to milk more money out of the customer.

Yeh I saw that. Then in the nvidia control panel you get all the 3d options, as that software was released before tue 700 series was even out. Hmm will soon find out

It does say on the page you can get it for free as an update to 3d vision, which 780 has?

People reported up to 400 MH/s for the fastest card and when I restart I can check this. I have linux with 290x and Titan and it was a pain to isntall them. In the end I had to remove the AMD, install everything related to CUDA and nvidia and then put back the amd and install the rest. Fro the amd you need to install the opencl and I had to use several versions before I got one which worked with cgminer 3.7.2 (3 for keccak).

One more tip for the latest maxcoin build.

For the kernel launch configuration: Take the total number of CUDA cores on your card, multiply by 2, and append x32 for the K kernel and x16 for the F kernel. Don't bother with the T kernel for the moment.

This should give somewhat higher performance than the original 1000x32 or 1024x32 configurations suggested in the README, especially on the biger cards like GTX 660Ti, GTX 780, etc...

Use -L 512 with these huge launch configurations or out of memory is guaranteed. But on the other hand, these out of memory errors don't prevent keccak hashing (the program just continues...). Cleaning up these unnecessary memory allocations would be the next item on my "finish the keccak feature" TODO list.

Christian

heh, its strange, but mine old settings "-l F1536x16 -L 256" still give me 2-3 MHash more than the advised "-l F384x16 -L 512" : 39MHash (old) vs 36-37 (new) ?

GTX550Ti 1Gb VRAM (192 cores), last cudaminer build from 09.02, WinXP 32bit

p.s. Maxcoin it is, stratum pool

maybe for low shader count cards higher multiples (4x, 6x, 8x) are even better.
