No one know the future.20 Years From Now very long period.Bitcoins will never exceed 21 million when mining will be end after that time will be crucial time for bitcoin because I am sure we already lose 1/4th bitcoin and never been back.price will skyrocket or will be dead.

By then we will have a way of mining that will decentralize the hashing rate all over the world. We will have solar pannels that are able to collect energy and are undetected by governments, so everyone will have those panels installed. We will have technology that allows for millions of transactions in a safe way, and the price will be over 1 million dollars per coin. We will surpass gold's marketcap.
Will have a great change in technology. Will have strong security system as said. The price of bitcoin would be really high. I am sure by then, BTC would be a main currency worldwide used. The government of all countries may accept bitcoins as well. Bitcoins would make all transactions simple and safe.

Those are nice things do be dreamed about the future, but do you really think that it could happen? Undetected solar panels, $1 million price/coin, decentralized hashing rate all over the world? Those are not easy things to do within a period of 20 years, maybe we could make some of it happen but not for all of them.

After 20 years bitcoin mining difficulty will be very high and it will be harder than you thought about mining bitcoins so the price will become very expensive and we can't assure the stability of the bitcoin network. If most of the miners will realize that bitcoin is not good source of income anymore they will abandon and they will not use bitcoin anymore, I'm not a hater of bitcoin, I'm just point out the one of the worst scenarios that may happen but let see and wait after 20 years if that will happen or not .

Unless some other coin overtakes bitcoin, and the price falls to oblivion. I don't see that kind of situation happening unless some new technology comes out that surpasses bitcoin, which will likely happen in the future.

After 20 years Bitcoin users double or triple, and nothing more. Plus BTC transactions will be faster, and probably BTC price will be higher than now. It is hard to predict so many years ahead, much simple is to predict let say 10 years.

It's impossible to think what Bitcoin or anything else would be like in twenty years. That's a lot of time, and we never know what innovative invention will come until then that will change everything as we know. For example, a scientific experiment that might prove that everything we know is a lie.

No one knows what will happen in the future. Maybe some are right and some are don't. Yeah Bitcoin is not perfect, nothing is perfect though almost perfect only. I expect bitcoin to still exist for that year and looking forward for a better progress and advancement.

We are now experiencing the efficient, fast and amazing convergence of technologies which one way or the other greatly contributing to the rise of the cryptocurrencies and making Bitcoin as the King of the Hill so far.
Looking into the future...what do you think will be the scenario involving Bitcoin twenty years from now? Will Bitcoin be worth more than a million or will it ceased to exist? Or will a new crytocurrency replace the supremacy of Bitcoin...?
For me, maybe it depends to the founder of the bitcoin if they replace it but if there's no issue on bitcoin why to replace, I think it is never replace happen. On the other question, bitcoin is never happen that it worth million, as you can see in the graph of bitcoin the value is increasing and decreasing so it is alternative. So million worth of bitcoin will be a dream that never be happen.

I feel the situation could be equally good or bad depending on how several issues that currently Bitcoin has are handled and how in the future merchants and traders start accepting it as a Payment methods over any other cryptocurrency that has the added advantages that maybe Bitcoin doesn't have at the point of time.
1) What could concern me 20 years down the line is Bitcoin mining centralization. You'll notice that the Chinese miners are gaining a lot of hash power by growth and investment in better mining equipment's and at the same time which could lead to the majority attack. We'll need to find a way down the line in a couple of years to tackle this situations and prevent control or centralized mining power by them.
2) Capability of Bitcoin to handle more transactions per second similar to Visa/master card or paypal if a lot of business transactions start happening and starts filling the blocks.
3) How to tackle Bank created crypto currencies and compete with these?
Few of these are just my concerns, but if everything tends to go well Bitcoin has good growth prospects in the near future.

In next 20 years we may see more and more bitcoin users, more support from different countries government and ultimately very high price per bitcoin due to high demand and limited supply. But as total bitcoin in circulation is 21 million and if 1 bitcoin have to be worth a million dollar marketcap should be like crazy high almost 21 millions million USD which i think can't be reached even over next 100 years.

For me, Bitcoin will remain the king. The price will be around 20 000$ in 2036. The margin between Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies (in term of marketcap) will become bigger as the years will pass.

20 years from now, I think bitcoin had already evolved and solved its transaction block size problem. It will be use in almost all internet transaction, due to the delay of confirmation being solved. Bitcoin might probably 2x to 10x higher than the current price and most country will recognize it as a currency that can be use to pay for goods directly.

i doubt that bitcoin can ever reach a 100,000 dollar price let alone a million dollar. but i am sure that bitcoin price is going to rise up over the years and keep on rising as long as there is potential of growth in it and there are people new to join in bitcoin and start buying it.

It is hard to foretell exactly what bitcoin will be like in 20 years later. Many factors which can affect bitcoin directly can both raise it up or bring it down. However, it is no doubt that bitcoin is currently used everywhere on the internet as well as in the physical world so i think in the future, Bitcoin will become the world first accepted cryptocurrency.

I'd have to assume there would be another cryptocurrency in 20 years that would take over bitcoin (or a large portion of the market) that appeals to people who want more control. So probably a bank's Blockchain or something like that.

satoshi said that in 20 years he was sure that there will be high volume or no volume, but ten years almost passed from that prediction, in another 20 years that prediction is heading more toward the high volume possibility, just look at the progress of bitcoin in all those year, it's only a matter of time before you see $10k per coin, and i believe in this

perdicting future right now is not worth it bitcoin is almost new technology and if still needs to face a lots of problems and we can not guess it to simply go million dollars price by time that really makes no sense. we know when bitcoin's popularity will invrease and all the coins will be completly mined then we will have the bitcoin's highest price we we should now think about how we can hold to that price insted of just misusing it
