From the past few years bitcoin has been growing enormously. So we cannot expect things to go in a negative manner. The price too is found good without much variation and increasing little by little. Everyone of us seems to be awaiting some Bitcoin 2.0 however it's still possible for bitcoin to evolve. Did you seen the Segwith, Lightning and whatsnot discussions? Change seems incoming, and unevadeable. Change or perish.
My bet on Segwit: will not make it in time, another approach following. Unlikely they will expand the deadline for adoption, at least from what image 3rd Satoshi Roundtable depicted.

Bitcoin is a long term player and won't disappear so easily your are right that this is just an beginning and it has long way to go as many more companies and businesses will start accepting bitcoins which will take bitcoins to a next level and that will bring attention of people who are still not aware about it.

That's true because Bitcoin in 20 years from now will see a couple of halvings a which are directly proportional to bitcoin price ascendency so I think value wise it will pump up really great and economic wise I think a lot of fiats might start to feel its pressure hence some governments might start integrating it into their economy to co-exist with their local fiat.

Bitcoin is to be mine for another century so 20 years is still young for Bitcoin as a currency.  I think as long as Bitcoin keep on adapting the community needs and upgrade in technology is always done, it will be hard for the contender to take bitcoin's throne as the top cryptocurrency.  The reason is that this contender needs to overcome the base user of Bitcoin.  It is not about the price but it s about the adoption of masses.  There are altcoin that has better features than Bitcoin but they are having a hard time gathering community simply because people of cryptocurrency have already put their trust in Bitcoin Blockchain.

If it refers to the participation of each currency in the market, one variable that can help compare them is the marketcap, but the dollar marketcap is in the trillions. While the market cap of Bitcoin, at the moment, is about 15.8 billion. So I think it will take more than five years for Bitcoin to have a presence in the market comparable to the dollar.

The long term projection might promise some slight but steady slope leading upwards. But between these markers Bitcoin just stays volatiletradeable.

Even a third world war could start or maybe world economy will bankrupt. But if everything is going to be alright, I think bitcoin will be the most using money at 2037.
