I received my email at 6:28:02 (local time is CST). X-Apparently-To: (redacted); Thu, 25 Apr 2013 11:28:02 +0000 This post was posted at 6:28:33. Could others be so kind as to see when your email was received? I have a hunch. I got mine at 11:27 GMT. So roughly the same time. Is this another conspiracy theory? At 4:29 am PST (USA)

Avalon DIY only costs $154 for the chips plus another $50 for the parts to make it in total $200 for 6.2gh/s versus 6.0gh/s for $2,795? a $2,595 different?
Avalon listen to the members here that is why there are so successful. Maybe their mentality is different. They are OUT of the game. We wasted our quality time on them. Keep changing their specs from the previous model is not good. Clearly means they cannot come out with a ASIC Product on time.
Before the changes $2955 for 50gh/s to Mars $2,795 for 6gh/s??

It's not an ASIC. It's a FPGA so it's bound to be more expensive. While you get roughly the same Gh/s, the two systems are vastly different and thus makes up the difference for the price. If you look at the FPGA, you will see that they are a lot more expensive. Please, calm down and read their post before posting like this.
Furthermore, we do not have the full details yet, but it looks like you get $2000 off the ASIC if you buy the FPGA, making it $745 for the FPGA.
If you feel that you have wasted your time here, maybe you should subscribe to this thread. No point in further posting.
Whoever you are a troll for kncminer? They come out with 50gh/s ASIC initially and now change to 6gh/s, we don't care about FPGA any more because at 6gh/s they are out of the game, Useless and dug their own grave in this industry. ASIC is the King, either you have them or forget about mining btc. Why give us the $2000, no one is interested in the $2000 because if they can change spec they can change their price anytime. Why not give us $745 and FORGET the $2k.. Everything is about Costs and Timing, Now they are both out.

You agree to lend them 2k, and they'll let you have a 6gh fpga to mine in the interim at $795 total cost. The combined investment in the fpga allows them to develop the future product plus 6gh gives you something whilst BFL ship and increase difficulty. The real danger is the open source plans Avalon are releasing with their 10,000's of chips they are flooding the market with to DIYers. The hobbyists will create a more affordable competing product. But should KNC encourage expansion, over clocking water cooled chips and modding in general as well as more efficient power consumption then there is at least some future proofing. ROI is not guaranteed though, especially not with BFL! And almost certainly not those that paid BFL with bitcoins pre-order in '12!!

LOL, Ed Trice doesn't care about the Bitcoin market. All he wants is our pre-order money to fund his business on building property on Mars.

So probably the Mars only cost less than $795?

Could this 6GH thing be used for mining other coins? And script based ones?
If yes, than it might be good buy specially if it could be shipped fast, otherwise, as much as I understand their wish to gain some money for asic production it's too expensive.

They replied to my email they said at LEAST $2000 off of Jupiter.
lucky you. I sent a message with a few questions through their contact form almost 2 hours ago, still no answer. what email address did you use? anyway if true that means that we're going to pay mars only 795$. it seems a fair price as long as jupiter will be delivered in a reasonable time frame. How is $795 a fair price when BFL is offering a product with the same hashing power for $275? https://products.butterflylabs.com/5-gh-s-bitcoin-miner.html6Ghash is not enough hashing power to last 6 months but it is enough to buy these devices as needed to keep up if they are modular and cheap. If we can buy one of these devices each month for 6 months that would probably keep up with difficulty but I'm not a math genius so correct my numbers. That said where do you get the $795 price and how is it fair? Yeah I agree the Jupiter would completely change the game. If it's -$2000 for people who buy the Mars then that is only $5000 which is somewhat reasonable for the amount of hashing power it offers. The question is how reliable it is, how efficient is it, and I agree why does it need water cooling and how will that work?

You're assuming the FPGA is profitable and doesn't lose us money. If it's not profitable then how much of a deal is it? It has to either make us money or break even. 6Ghash is nothing and for that price it's a huge gamble. They could take the money from the FPGA and never release the Jupiter.

Perhaps, if the community would allow them to take just one pre-order, they would then be able to pay their hosting arrears. I think I need Kano or (?) to explain this to me and the community: http://www.businessregion.se/mappfornyheter/mappfornyheter2012/orsocexpanderarivastsverige.5.249e750913abda23d1c1443.html- What have you on right now?
- Recently, we received a lot of exciting projects from clients outside Sweden. Primarily in Europe and the U.S.. , we have also some exciting new products in the pipeline to come. This will be a whole series of cards with different performance, configurability and price to suit many different customer needs and expectations. However, they are all based on the same row of teeth contact (SO DIMM), which makes this a modular thinking with highly effective opportunities to combine and switch between different cards depending on need. About SO-DIMM: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SO-DIMM

For what it's worth in the prior email they told me they are making pretty much nothing on the FPGA they are just offering it, to built trust and a reputation with the community.

For what it's worth, don't be surprised when pizza becomes KNC's COO/PM/PR guy with the user account name KNC_pizza. BTW, I stand corrected on the name choice since obviously they were inspired my me.

country man helping their own country man is understandable, but is kind of sad when they promise 50gh/s for $2,995 which get everyone excited but turn around and offer 6gh/s for $2,795? You break your own promise man.
