From the graph Andre pointed at, I don't see the point of going to 2Mb. It seems like growing at 2Mb won't change anything, it'll grant only a few months/years of time but not much more. |

From the graph Andre pointed at, I don't see the point of going to 2Mb. It seems like growing at 2Mb won't change anything, it'll grant only a few months/years of time but not much more. You're right, it only buys us 1 year extra time. That's why the 8 MB proposal made more sense. However, in that one year SegWit can become fully operational, which will allow another year of growth. Hopefully, those two years will be enough to implement the Lightening Network -- or some other solution to the scaling problem. |
