Just woke up to see how on Bitfinex 6k 8K BTC were sold from 15K down to 13K in less than an hour and a half. This is not a normal trading. Someone desperately wants BTC to be stopped, but who? Cripple and Eth are going down, only bcash is up... hmmm. Ver is one of the suspects for sure. Or some whale with a low futures bid may be... Last edit: 7 700 000 BTC sold in one hour and 3000 BTC an hour before. Someone hates the hodlers

Since S. Korea is leading the way down (-20% ~ -30% across board), I suppose that Korean are finally starting to discount the possibility that their govt may pull a China-style ban, regardless of whether it's tax authority raid on exchanges or new legislation being discussed. But on the bright side, newbies to the crypto world will finally get a chance to see what their favorite ALT is made of. BTC got here today not because it's the coolest kid on the block, but being basically the last one standing through out all the storms.

Could a Minister of Korea just ban all exchanges the same way China has done? Isn't necessary vote on the Congress or something like that?

Thanks! I was sitting here getting dismayed by reading all the FUD about Korea (especially from Reuters) and that picture made me laugh.

Love this reply : Telling people in crypto not to panic is like telling you’re wife to calm down when she’s angry. It tends to fuel the fire. LOL. I think this one might take some time to recover. I hope I’m wrong.

This is what I've been reading too. They're still only planning to shut down any exchange that doesn't strictly follow KYC, tax laws, etc.

Hey, I have a question - is South Korea actually banning *all* crypto trading?
Or is it just banning noncompliant exchanges? What is actually going on?
If someone has a link to a translated primary source, directly reporting from SK, that would be nice.
BTW, it looks like all the shitty alts (I still maintain that ETH is not a shitty alt), especially XRP, are getting destroyed. My portfolio is down by almost 20% (from its ATH), but I can't help but enjoy seeing the POP of the recent spam-coins back by nothing buy hype and empty promises.

Let's hope these 10K+ BTC sold in the last 2-3 hours on Bitfinex (and who knows how many on other exchanges) will be in better hands ( ahem, hodlers). At least there will be a much less resistance going back to 20K, so this shaking out the weak hands is a good thing.

Maybe, but I think we're not done with the ups and downs yet. Cycles seem to get shorter though.

So congrats, and just fucking cash out a little more so you can keep riding this wave without remorses with the rest of your (huge) stash.
Ok. Extracted just north of $1M @ $14,500 USD/BTC. Once the wire hits my account, I'll load up for round 2. Congratulations BOB. 13500 om Stamp right now, you picked the right time.
