I have made money from the last bull run and withdrawn it into my bank to not care about this drop. One thing I am certain, I will buy back when the market is favorable. I have small orders already filled but big ones waiting at the very bottom. Dont be scared. Bitcoin from the very start is like this. We've seen worse. It will recover.

I closed off my short on the last terrific shake down to 7.3k. Too much profit to ignore.

Then I thought - before starting to nurse it again, why not go long?

So I have a long position now, from the past low. It's in profit right now, but I would like to wait a bit more before closing and reversing it.

So, I think this is the problem with margin trading. You begin cautiously - it's a hedge, you know - and before you know it, you turn into a gambler. A winning gambler for the time being, but that's the point: the change in attitude. Using margin trading properly and sticking to the plan - ot at least to the mindset - requires lots of discipline.

My hunch about quick-reversing and longing is still paying out, but if I manage to close this in profit, I'm going back to my safety short. Then let it go down to 2k. I won't care.

Alts rise higher and drop quicker. It's always been like that and it is the reason why it's more reasonable to buy alts during bull markets.
The only smart move here is done by those who sold in December and who won't touch this market for a long time.
Even bigger winners are the insiders shorting bitcoin

See how similar does it look? It is all over GoX again. Bloodbath to $2k incoming. They won't let it shoot up again unless dumb people do panic sells below $5k.

I checked that page, but I don't get the point. It seems to have been written in 2017 and updated.

Even if you win at margin trading you can lose everything when your exchange gets hacked. To margin trade you have to risk keeping your coins on an exchange, and none of them are reliable.

If they don't get hacked they get overloaded, and you can't login to close your position.

So how low will we hit this time ?

Chinaman said 5k

If we hit 6k it will be double buttom, good moment to start growing what u think ?

Depends. For the most part there is no such thing as "building a base" like people like to say. If it meets strong resistance that arrests the decline but languishes in a trading range at ~6k than expect further downside. Double bottom is bearish unless there is a strong bounce.

It is indeed written in 2017. You click play button and see how things went since then.

Dude gave us a hint 1 year ago. "Is it hype season again?" And it was indeed. It was a major mania phase like the one in 2013.

He even showed us the top price which was $20k. I even created a topic months ago before we hit $20k. (11 days after the original analysis)
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1932892.0

What does my title say? "We are still not in a bubble. $20k incoming." What did that mean? Not in a bubble till we see 20k. All happened like he expected.

His top/bottom lines are showing us the exact support/resistance points. He called the GoXlike hype run. Now it says we may go way below $5k. If that's not interesting to you, well...

Here is the answer to the question posed on the chart. Bitcoin needs to look more like some of these other technologies on this chart before said cycle can be broken by maturity.

Worldwide, Bitcoin adoption is even lower than the few percent it shows here. With only 20 million funded Bitcoin addresses, and at least a few addresses used by each user, Bitcoin is used by at most 0.1% of the world population.

(I can't believe I never posted here, now I can finally get this thread in my New replies list)

Be welcome.

The user numbers are a mere fraction like 1/5 of wallets, since everybody of us uses 2~3 exchanges featuring new addresses. Been cutof from one site, new registrations "pending" forever. Currently registering more new sites than really needed, because they are just blocking new users.

After years of watching bitcoin, I can confidently say for it now, "The more the dump, the better the jump!"

Dominance back up to 45.5%. Crypto market-cap now $275 billion. I'm speculating it can't go less than $250 billion.

Good point.

ETH is now experiencing downside pressure from all the stored ICO funds.

FOMO is now gradually being replaced by FOLAYM (Fear of Losing All your Money).

There is no telling how low it might go, but I would say a good place too look is around where the real ICO boom started, May 2017. Funds raised when ETH was in the $100-200 range are not yet willing to sell, and might mark a floor.

It is unlikely to go below 100B, but I think well below 250B is a certainty in the next year or so.
