Bitcoin will drop back down to 2-3k
Yeah, halting every single mining operation in the whole white world, sure Why not? Whats stopping it? Weve seen it before. Actually mining is disrupting itself every day by releasing faster and faster ASICs. Because buying btc outright vs buying back mining hardware would be a smart business move. So youre postulating that a certain amount of people who would originally be interested in mining, are going to instead buy bitcoins? Also, they're going to buy into the downtrend and not wait for it to reverse? Even if this is true, is the amount of money coming in from these would-be miners significant enough to hold up the price? Will it outweigh millions of coins being dumped? Is it even any kind of significant number?

Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

We are in a sustained down trend.
Anyone claiming to know the bottom is just guessing. It is entirely possible the bottom is already in at $5900 but no one knows.

I'm looking for those $7800 bitcoin You might be able to get them a bit cheaper. Source: Mammoths. Basically out of my ass, as Hairy would undoubtedly (and reasonably) say.

Keep in mind we should bounce again by early next week. It’s just the weekend is likely to be bad.

I agree on both points. FWIW, of course. EDIT - by "a bit cheaper", I'm assfully prognosticating 7200-7400.

Fuck it, back in the cupboards for me
I hope that this time you disclose your "safe word" to some some person IRL... Disclosing your plan to interweb personas will not work too well, unless you have figured out how to get WO-Bot or some other AI or a script to prod you at a more or less a fitting time. I suppose you could set a BTC ticker alarm as long as the power does not go out, or the web is not disconnected leaving you to shrivel up like a plum turned into a dried out prune.

Cmon Infofront you would be up in arms if Michelle Obama was acting SoS. Or Malia if she was older. So would I. I would lose my nut if Hillary was President and appointed Chelsea as acting SoS. You can’t tell me you believe this is ok. Appointing close family members to the highest positions in the government is what third world dictators do.
This sort of behavior should transcend party lines and we should all stand up against it, because it leads to tyranny.
Your outrage is understandable, but it sounds like it's a very short term stint before Pompeo is confirmed. Also, Trump has never been involved in politics before, and doesn't have a large network of trusted bureaucrats to choose from as Obama or Clinton would.

I take your point. But this is an ideal opportunity for the 2nd in command to the SoS, whatever they are called, to step up. They are presumably a career bureaucrat and a safe pair of hands.
I appreciate that members of this board may not consider career bureaucrats as a safe pair of hands, but undoubtedly better than an heiress and fashion designer at negotiating with South Korea. What this does, is send a strong signal that nepotism and cronyism is acceptable in modern US government.
