If you are bored unignore some bcash shills or roach then slap them. Then ignore again.

There is nothing productive in that.

Fucking around with Lightning at the stage it's at right now, will just make it easier on all of you, once the momentum increases further.

It's still a bit wonky, to be honest, but steadily getting better and better with every release.

Yeah.  I put some stuff up on that wall (and instantly snapped a pic since it would be covered up so fast) just for fun.  Also bought stickers, a tshirt and a Billfodl with lightning.

I had to reset a channel once.

But otherwise it excites me  the same way doing my first BTC transfer back in 2011 did.

People have NO IDEA how cool this is for little bits of spending money. The things we will see built.

Here a cool one:

Lightning based poker where ALL of it happens on layer 2.  No deposit.  No withdrawal.  All contract driven on Layer 2.  Maybe not something you'd use for high stakes.  But for penny poker?  No rake?

It's a home game on the internet.

People have no idea.

None of us do really.  Not yet. Wink

I heard that on lightning network there are some ways to calculate in fractions of a satoshi.  Does the wall painting allow for that?   Or has the fractions of a satoshi been applied (transacted) within the lightning network?

normal that its boring we are all looking to the WORLD CUP or not ??   Grin

My mate has two tickets for the final of the World Cup 2018 but he is getting married on that day and cannot attend.

If anyone wants to go instead of him, it's at St Andrews Church in Brighton and the bride’s name is Sarah.

Swim suit pics, or it didn't happen.   Tongue

She looks like the kind of chick that might jump on my head in the middle of the night.  Perhaps smother me with flesh, and then steal my bitcoins.  I might not mind the earlier parts of the scenario, but the last part would be too much for me to bear(bare)(breher)(oh, gosh I need to get out a bit more)..

That is possible yes.  But this application charges 1sat/pixel.  So it does not get further divided.  I would guess (just a stab) that BBL's pic cost him about USD equiv $10 to post?

You should play with it.  You can draw, and see how much it costs.  It's neeto.

Tether Review Claims Crypto Asset Fully Backed – But There's a Catch

https://www.coindesk.com/tether-review-claims-crypto-asset-fully-backed-theres-catch/

EDIT: Don't forget to read carefully before you proceed!

"it was only one day's balances. "FSS has not performed any procedures or made any conclusions for activity prior to or subsequent to June 1st, 2018, Close of Business," the firm says in its report."

FSS LLP were allowed to pick a date.  And the banks were asked to verify balance on that date.   It's not like Tether can go back in time, and put money into the account on the chosen date.

It's like what some people do signing bitcoin messages. "As of this time, this address is under my control, and has this amount of bitcoins in it."

Then a few days later, the BTC moves to another address. But you can all see it in the blockchain.

banks could learn from blockchain and adapt some features. Can not be that hard to make account information like balance and transaction public viewable. a additional online banking feature where account owners can control the access to this information by some kind of api.

I bet banks will do things like that to fight bitcoin.

Kind of like this?

Corn and other drugs

Consider cereal grains for a moment. Why grains like corn rapidly and extensively replaced traditional foods even though they were less nutritious and required more labour has been widely regarded as a puzzle; cultivation of cereal grains continued even when the abundance of more easily processed foodstuffs—such as meat and fruit—rendered it unnecessary. Well, foods like wheat and corn release exorphins when digested. It's been speculated daily opioid self-administration could have increased people’s tolerance of crowded sedentary conditions, of regular work, of subjugation by rulers. If so, corn might have ultimately helped the development of civilization.

I decided to start thinking what would be killer apps for LN. Then satoshidice came to my mind... and it looks like there is already at least one:

https://twitter.com/_thunderdice

But this one seems to only run on testnet... aren't there any on live net yet?

Another thing that would be a great step towards adoption would be when one of the major BTC ATM players starts taking LN. They could even offer discounted fees for the early adopters. Wouldn't that be cool? *Instant* FIAT ramp with almost no tx fee and discounted conversion fee? I am sure we will see that.... probably sooner than we would bet.

What other ideas do you guys think would be killer apps for LN?

Fast forward... by extension they also likely figured out that corn syrup could be cheaply mass produced and when shoved into nearly every food product on the market, thus could spur over consumption of their over-priced garbage. Leading to the obesity and diabetes epidemic that we have today. Crowd tolerance and subjugation effects would be a bonus as well.

Is WALL-E the future?
