Holy shit! I stand corrected...

They're multiplying in numbers and in the extent of their delusion.

A repost but a goldie.

I can't believe a company like WU is still operating 10 years after the crypto was invented. Are people really that stupid?  Shocked

I have a slight issue with people who roll out the 'Bitcoin will kill WU' line. Mainly cos as it stands it's crap.

You're paying WU to finish up with spendable cash in someone else's hands in millions of places.

Millions of other places don't have places to spend crypto, or don't have exchanges or might have 2-3 people to sell it to in an entire country on Localbitcoins.

It's a starry eyed comparison that fails to hold up.

Does Western Union meet you at the hotel lobby when you arrive in a new country to personally give you local currency with the click of a button on your phone?

Until they provide that good of service they can't compete with localbitcoins.

Also...it sounds like WU has no clue about their potential role in crypto. They think they would somehow be some sort of company to send crypto to crypto. Their role would be to compete with localbitcoins and provide exchange services worldwide.

They likely won't get it until after they are shuttering their doors.

But...

Until that bit goes then it's still straw grabbing to an extent.

It's a long, long way from being a no brainer yet.

Why? The technology is there. The issue is that most people are not aware of that. Once they find out they can receive cash cheaper, faster and without any 3rd party in-between they'll stop using WU.

Because everything happens when the "time is right".

For example, carbon fiber was invented in the 60's only to be widely used after 30 years or so.

$120 is more than enough for a network specially disigned for micropayments.

Main chain will be great for medium to large transactions.

Lightning is for low, micro to sub-Satoshi payments.
