Heading towards $4k around October 2020. Forget the "halfing". It was priced in early - 1 year early - and profits got taken in the 12k "fakeout".

That's what bitcoin does folks - what you're not expecting.

New ATH around 2023, 2024, just at long term log charts have been predicting. Time between peaks increasing as marketcap increases.

Super bearish but... intriguing. If that would be the case I could buy new loads of ammo.

Nobody except some true HODLers are expecting 50-100-200 or 300K a coin as well so going that high will be very unexpected for the world as well....

As most of the NO-coiners or people not knowing BTC are exactly expecting low prices or failure...

So sky high prices will be the unexpected Cheesy

Now go and troll some rookie-newbie threads or something, in here people like you has no voice

How many people under 60 are running for President? How many people under 60 sit in Congress? How many of them are (competent) economists? Computer scientists? Engineers? Physicists?

Let's take a look at the most pressing political issues that face us this century:

How a complete refusal to acknowledge economic reality is going to completely destroy the wealth of most people on Earth.

Also how idiotic policy towards things like Bitcoin will actively prevent people from protecting themselves against this.

That encryption IS ABSOLUTELY AND UNEQUIVOCALLY necessary for a free and digital society. You cannot have a society in which people can secure their privacy, their safety, and their ability to freely speak _if you attack the cryptography that facilitates this_.

That the architecture of computer networks is also _something integral_ to whether or not free and open communications in a digital world is possible. These things needs to be TAKEN SERIOUSLY, and things like letting a Communist country dominate this infrastructure globally...

...is absolutely and utterly insane on the level of handing the Third Reich a stranglehold on the whole world.

That NUCLEAR POWER is the ONLY option to sustainable zero carbon energy that MEETS DEMAND. Other things are not a viable solution whatsoever beyond low power _individual_ use that will be intermittent.

NUCLEAR IS THE ONLY SCALABLE OPTION.

That open source guns are here to stay, and there is absolutely nothing you can do to stop it. That space will explode, flourish, potentially in my mind even draw _gun companies_ into contributing to it.

THIS IS IN LINE WITH THE AMERICAN CONSTITUTION.

The potential of deep fakes to COMPLETELY destroy the ability to verify or discern the truthfulness of events viewed second hand through digital recordings. Even REAL TIME INTERACTION through digital means is subject to this "post truth" reality.

(Roll your eyes if you want at this one): The potential of cannabis to obsolete and obliterate whole segments of the pharmaceutical industry. Keep in mind, our ecosystems are being contaminated to the foundation with all the artificial pharmaceuticals we consume.

The potential of drones as one of the most iconic(though not the only by any means) tools to alter the asymmetry of force projection so radically that we might literally find ourselves in a dystopian world of possible drone murders at any time in a matter of a decade(s).

The fact that national power infrastructure is wide open digitized attack magnets that could be brought down by a small and competent group of people with just computers.

If I took my time and thought about it, I could probably stretch this thread to close to a 100 tweets today. But I think this is enough.

How the fuck are a bunch of old senile lawyers, life long grifters, and now (and soon to come) reality TV stars, musicians, movie stars...

...etc going to navigate us through this mindfield? How the fuck are they EVEN GOING TO UNDERSTAND WHAT IS GOING ON let alone come up with practical and manageable solutions that do not involve simply nullifying everyone's liberties and freedoms?

There is something seriously fucked up and fundamentally wrong with this picture. And it's not "Orange Man Bad." It's not "All Democrats are Satan." It's not "America is evil!"

It's the fact that EVERYONE HAS LOST THE FUCKING PLOT.

The world is an engine driven and steered by technology at this point, you don't ascertain your position or plot your course by watching and uplifting senile lawyers.

I am so hopelessly naive that climate laggard Australia recently peaked to 50% of its energy consumption from renewables and is about to start exporting green energy to Asia via undersea ultrahigh voltage transmission lines.

The 15 year goal is for Australia to produce 250% of its national energy needs from solar and wind so it can sell cheap power into Asia, disrupting Asian coal fired power stations that are ironically running on Australian coal.

Progress is a bitch.

I also thought it was interesting you gave two responses to the same quote of mine.

Hahahaha

I am not going back in history... to prove that you edited your post.

You know why?

Answer:  Because I could give two ratt's fanny packs that you feel some kind of need to edit your silly-ass ideaers.

But I figured since the first response was short you just wanted to add some more. Kiss

You can do all the figuring and calculating that you like, it is not going to help when you are dealing with bad underlying facts.  I will not even have to go into possible logic issues, at this time, neither.

So I guess it's too naive to think that Asia can just slap mega solar panels and powerwalls on all those factories billowing out the majority of the world's pollution and call it done, eh? 'Cause they sure as shit don't give a fuck about the environment.

Maybe the swedish girl can provide the easy solution, am I right?

Asians don’t give a fuck about the environment, all they care about is money.

Solar is now cheaper than coal and getting ever cheaper fast (hint: the fuel is free).

China gets a fuck ton of sunlight - it’s just blocked by the Asian Brown Cloud which is a result of burning coal.  Once they start to transition properly, they will get a positive feedback loop.

More solar panels = less coal = less pollution = more solar radiation = more cost effective solar panels = more solar panels ....

As an added bonus the US could stop sending its troops to die for Saudi Arabia once we break away from oil dependency.

OT: So much lulz

https://www.cnbc.com/2019/09/30/wework-says-it-will-file-request-to-withdraw-its-ipo-prospectus-after-roadshow-management-turmoil.html

Gee, investors starting to smell bullshit in these overvaluated startups? Color me shocked.

Yeah, wepork=office rental. Big fucking deal.

And yet:

"Despite the billions he pursued, Neumann liked to convey that he wasn’t motivated by money. In January, when I asked him about his stock in the company, he told me that at that time he would not cash in his stakes. “I, Adam Neumann, am not a seller.” In mid-July, in advance of the pending IPO, The Wall Street Journal reported that Neumann had cashed out at least $700 million in cash and loans."

This is not just an American startup problem, it is a World startup problem. This narcissistic fuckhead jet-setted around in a private, smoking pot, lived in huge houses, surfing and yoga every day, ran this company nearly into the ground, the company never made a single $1 of profit, and yet....he somehow gets a golden parachute worth nearly THREE-QUARTERS OF A BILLION DOLLARS? ? ? ?

And no one bats an eye about it. The outrage culture stays silent. Un-fucking-believable.

solar would be great for me (lots of sun) if not for three reasons:

1. Cartel-like pricing here ($30K-50K per roof).
2. You cannot move your roof with you when you move.
3. Most important...Wretched HOA that is adamantly against solar. Those who don't know what HOA is, you are lucky.

I paid US$6,500 installed for a 8.5kw system which is a very large system including top quality panels and microinverters (not the cheaper string inverters).  You should be able to get a decent smaller system for less than US$3k installed.  I don't understand the pricing you have quoted.

If you size the system appropriately, you should be able to pay off the panels in 3 - 4 years.  Yes this requires staying in the same house for 3 - 4 years  Grin   After that it is free electricity.  But it also improves the resale value of your home.

The power companies pay me about $4 per day for the solar I send to the grid.  My quarterly power bill is the power company paying me about $360.   Once your HOA realises they can make money off it, they will come around.  I put some panels in suboptimal positions so that I do not have any panels directly visible from the front but the system is deliberately oversized to cope with imperfect panel placement.
