Gox double button...

I cannot disagree more with you.

Double bottom will be at 0$ at this rate.
Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

Why would anyone buy goxcoin on bitcoinbuilder when they can just wire money to Gox and buy at a much lower price? I mean if you want to buy lottery tickets, at least don't over pay for them.
Because it takes 10 days for their international bank wire.

10 days? Crap like this is why we need bitcoin in the first place.

24-48h with SEPA.

Bitcoin is not faster. First you have to buy them and the other part hast to exchange them back to local currency.
Problem is: In most countries converting btc to fiat is not that easy.

IMO its obvious Billy was hinting at the fact once we finally switch to btc in everyday purchasing there will be no swapping it for dirty fiat paper. Also eliminating waiting 10 days to transfer wealth

correct.

When you deposit EUR SEPA on gox do they automaticaly convert it to USD?

No. EURO SEPA will be credited as EURO.

You need to buy BTC with EURO and sell for USD to get GOX USD.

Can we get a poll about what people who have btc trapped on gox are doing ?

Like my btc on gox was

1. Sold at 140 and I'm in fiat
2. Bought in with remaining goxbux balance
3. Taken by unicorns which mark is riding to the moon

And we'll have lots of people who haven't got a single coin or cent at gox voting 3 Smiley
and then we have people like me who deposit fiat and buy more btc.

At what price did you start to buy?
~$330, but only about 20k, working on depositing more now. Did a few trades on bitcoinbuilder too, but the rate there isn't good enough compared to fiat deposit.

Hey Jorge, you did some work related to the Voynich manuscript, right? Have you seen this?

mtgox......

Quote
Tokyo, Japan, February 20th, 2014

Dear MtGox Customers,

Thank you for your patience this week while we are working on re-initiating bitcoin
withdrawals. In addition to the technical issue, this week we have experienced some
security problems, and as a result we had to relocate MtGox to our previous office building
in Shibuya (details can be found here https://support.mtgox.com/home). The move,
combined with some other security and technical challenges, pushed back our progress."

As much as we didn’t want to only provide an “update on an update”, this is the current
status. We are committed to solving this issue and will provide more information as soon
as possible to keep everyone in the loop."

We are very sorry for the delays and deeply appreciate your kind understanding and
continuous support."

Best regards,

MtGox Team

Thanks for the tip!  I will check it out, seems promising.

(However, many others before him have obtained "partial" translations --- meaning a few words here and there --- assuming many different languages.  See for example this one:
http://www.ic.unicamp.br/~stolfi/voynich/04-05-20-manchu-theo/
So I will have to check it before I believe it...  Wink)

These announcements are just a dickslap in the face to the people having coins on gox. Lying about why they don't let you withdraw your coins.

Do you guys really think it's a less than 25% chance they will pay out? Coins so cheap, much tempting!

What's freaky as hell is the fact that 142 is slapping around on gox, and their thursday announcement that we've all been waiting for doesn't include the simple statement of

WE HAVE THE BTC SAFE - PLEASE DO NOT BE CONCERNED

What is wrong with them!!

"Your money is safe" is usually a song of those that do not have your money.  Like Full Tilt.
