Did bitstamp ever support deposits through bitinstant?
Yes it did, you could use Bitinstant to arg between Gox and Stamp

That might be why some are having issues withdrawing bitcoins from Stamp. Gox was freezing accounts associated with bitinstant before the malleability shitstorm.

OMG ! Ths won´t end well. BTC RxIxP 2014
Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

So what now, is this the bottom? Since it's been hanging on this all day already.

Bottom is 0$ my dear.

even if they do sort out the problem, there will be daily limits as to how much BTC you can withdraw....
i tend to agree... mtgox is a bottomless pit at this point... not much hope left.

@Jorge @KeyserSoze: thanks, it's an interesting topic! I find it amazing that with all our knowledge of cryptography, we still have unsolved mysteries like this Cheesy

It seems that BTC withdrawls on Bitstamp are right now no more possible.
Will the price on Stamp follow Gox? It would be only logical!
We´ll see.

Stop spreading FUD... I've just made a withdrawal of BTC on BS; after activating 2Fa there (it asked me to do so), I've got no problem.

Stop spreading FUD... I've just made a withdrawal of BTC on BS; after activating 2Fa there (it asked me to do so), I've got no problem.

They called out FUD all the time, when only a few withdrawls on Gox worked.
There are right now 10+ members reporting in the last hours(no newbs or trolls), who are having this issue.
So please stop calling everything FUD.
We all know what happened after that.

Do you have 2fa activated? It asked me to do so, and after that, I can withdraw BTC

EDIT: @Dragonkiller Ok, so it's not related with 2fa, thanks for the confirmation. Anyway, if they had real problems with BTC liquidity, why deactivate just a bunch of the accounts instead of everyone?

Its looking like GOX will be the classic scam right to the end.

Keep reeling the suckers in until the very last second possible.

Maybe, maybe not...

Occams razor is telling me that this will all blow over... why murder the goose?

There have been 18 Bitcoin exchanges fail in the past...what makes this one special?

Nothing at all, never said it was special.

Just said with what has been going on, in my opinion Occams razor, cutting the wheat from the chaff is hinting to me that this could and is most likely to be what they say is on the tin...  it may not be but is it most likely at this stage in my opinion.. after listening to "letstalkbitcoin" the other day and  Andreas Antonopoulos was talking about working with MtGox to sort their shizz out, he did not seem to think they had a "there are no coins" issue... sure that does not mean too much but add it all up and combine that with the simplest solution and that equals to me= MtGox are daft but not suicidal/do not want to be locked up.

Not sure, but when Gox first started having problems, some withdrawals were going through and others weren't. Not sure what's going on, but there will be a panic in the next couple of hours.

Be fearful when others are greedy and greedy when others are fearful.

I think at the chance of tripling your money its worth a shot with some play btc. Nothing  other than peoples sepculation is saying they are insolvent. The figures don't make sense with how much they earn plus some higher members of the community don't seem to think they have that problem.

Unless you are to beleive that the 'scammers' emptied the hot wallet and then emptied another 1 or 2 cold storages without mtgox noticing then they have plenty of coins around them.

The price is being driven down by FUD rather than facts and I beleive a hell of alot of people have panic sold due to this.

Im fairly happy to take a 3:1 bet even if it takes 3-4 weeks.
