re: Bitstamp withdrawal.

Might be some automatized safety thing, that wasn't exactly thought through very well?

Maybe something like: If IP address changes regularly, stop withdrawal. Something moronic like that.

Aaanyway...

Just bought 1 btc for testing purposes, and btc withdrawal works for me, as they always did. Arrived at my address a few minutes later.

NOTE: Not saying that some people don't have problems withdrawing, but at least we know that not all accounts are affected.

Dunno why people are insinuating that people are trying to spread FUD saying that they have been stopped their btc withdrawals from stamp.

How many people do you need to report the same thing before you beleive it.

FACT: some people cant withdraw

FUD:   "this is how gox started / crash incoming /" etc etc

all the FUD aside, this market is primed for a crash.

it is only a question of time.

btc deposits not working on stamp as well.

Oh here's my proof (check the date and time)

About 50% of the last few minutes of messages explain to you that it is not a problem, and yet you still don't read them....

Its times like these I'm glad I have an encrypted paper wallet and nothing on the exchanges. Although I might pick up some cheap coins on coinbase if it goes any further.

OK there is nothing wrong, I just contacted Bitstamp (I live near them) and they activated withdrawals for me right away, they told me it is a safety precaution, and they will make an annoucment and send e-mails with instructions to how withdraw..

so just be patient...

I am calling BS. My withdrawal (several thousands of dollars) has been pending since 16th february. All Bitstamp did was sending of KYC questions on 18th. Since then NOTHING. And no I can´t use the money for trades either, they are just floating in limbo right now.

I hear that the Koala bears are leaving the bear camp, something about how Koalas are to chilled out for all that hysterical shit... plus they said something about how the bears are going to need a new home...

My friend the unicorn told me that his friend Koala had a vision , one of them leaf visions they have, and they have seen the future...                   Bear town is going to be a ghost town in 6 months... the Koalas are moving out early because Koalas are sensible, because Koalas are cool... because Koalas™ do not have their own coin, but they have got game, and they are now moving to hodl town...

So I hear anyway.

If it's a security measure, that's great.

However, it does show the importance of a well-written error message.

"You are not allowed to withdraw bitcoins" is both vague and slightly threatening.

Copy and UX, people. Crucial parts of web design.

Okay thanks. Yeah, I think they spotted the fishing attempt and paused withdrawals on the affected accounts as a precaution.

Fact: BTCGuild gives a statement about fake mails sent from their adress to emails belonging to BitStamp-Users
BitStamp freezes some Accounts, independet of 2FA.

-->
a) there was a hack attempt and someone got data from bitstamp (mail adress etc)
b) Stamp detected login-attempts from foreign IP's (user A logs in from US everytime - today he logs in from india) and disabled btc withdrawal on these accounts to prevent fraud on the users due to compromised mail-accounts

Yes, agree with you. There were several posts saying "Stop spreading FUD", and you wanted to make clear it's not FUD.

Like I said, my withdrawal just went through, but I believe you when you say yours didn't.

So it´s perfectly okay, that people can continue to play with virtual money, but their bank accounts will stay empty? Thanks for clearing that up.
