mp3 is a fraud on your ears
I never heard the notion articulated in this manner. However, in that mp3 encoding throws out content below some arbitrary threshold of 'psychoacoustically unimportant', it is quite literally true.

all I see right now is a 6-months long cup and handle formation How about double top with the lower second peak? Is this a sole "contrarian view", or are there more who expect a proper correction right now? I see what you see in addition to other indicators. The trick is to look at the indicators and not with your heart. For those looking for an upward price tend to only see things that support this ( I too want the price to go up, unfortunately "wanting it" does not make it happen). Below is the 3d chart from Bitfinex: Note the orange arrow with a Doji and the green arrow shows the confirmation. And the red circle denotes the "Crossover - As shown in the chart below, when the MACD (white line) falls below the signal line (orange line), it is a bearish signal, which indicates that it may be time to sell." Now note the 1d chart Bitfinex: The green arrow noting the Doji and the orange arrow confirming. See also the red circle showing another MACD crossover indicating a bearish signal. Again, I am not a bear, I do wish for the price to continue upward. This is just my chart reading. Also not shown on these charts is the 1w RSI indicator showing still overbought. But please don't take my charting trend analysis as fact, research your own opinions.

Is this a sole "contrarian view", or are there more who expect a proper correction right now? I think the price doubled because of the halving, and it's not going back down because the miners don't have as many coins to dump. There have been double tops without corrections, and cups without handles. Chart formations don't always work, unless somebody has coins to dump the price isn't going back down.

I think these price increases are great for bitcoin. I hope it keeps going up and I keep making money!!!

Could be a fakeout, as we had this before the May/June rally. With the uncertainty surrounding Segwit, I wouldn't be sure on that, of course.

This is it, time is up. rewards have been halved, hype is brewing. Bitcoin always going to be bummin' around, and paper $$$ only gets less useful by the day.
In 1 week we will be pushing 800
In 1 year we will be pushing 2400
In 10 years, global economic unity.

Bitcoin is too fragile to be used for 'global economic unity' or anything like that. Try to think in a timespan of beyond 20 years in which it will definitely be hacked/cracked by then or they will find some way to keep the network from functioning in some way or the other. In a best case scenario, we briefly touch something like $20,000 in a speculative bubble before crashing. That is the play here.
