Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

No real pullback until 5000 / 737.. ish..

Then reset some indicators and continue on. $780 target - then 850..

I'd be happy to consolidate there for a while.. 1-2 months.. then steam on in Jan-Feb..

Are there even enough coins for sale on the exchanges?

Good morning Bitcoinland.

Just got woken up by the damned phone to see I just missed some exciting action.

The dust still hasn't settled yet but we seem to be catching our breath after a second fairly decent rise in about 12 hours... currently $715 on Bitcoinaverage.

Now let's see if it's time for the expected correction (back to $680?) or if we continue upward a while longer and set $700 as the new support.

Exciting times.

In order to dump coins one must have coins

Don't get fooled by the order book depth. Coins can get to an exchange within an hr. People got smarter (for now) and don't store (as many coins) on the exchanges

Precisely. Why risk bitcoins when they can be stored safely offline until the last minute?

Fiat on the other hand takes considerably longer to move and is less prone to hacking due to identity verification and the banking system.

This is perhaps why upward movements are usually more gradual while dumps are hard and fast.

It's not just you. I got steady 504 errors to the point of checking Twitter to see if Theymos reported a dDOS attack.

He didn't post anything but that's what it seemed like to me.

BTC pumps just like last year.

I think we might hit 6000 cny/825$ before a sharp dump to 650.

so how do we reckon bitfinex is gonna murder this run? surely it's too soon for another hack or outage. i'll expect something genuinely creative from them this time around.
