Except this block didn't include the 12.5 BTC mining reward.  I wonder...

What block number was it? I hate clicking links posted here.

Apparently it's meant to be a rootstock commitment, but whoever mined it didn't add the output which pays the reward to themselves.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/7n1ie5/someone_destroyed_125_newly_mined_bitcoins/
That's interesting, did he get the fees (5-6btc or so)

No transactions in the block either. The miner got awarded absolutely nothing.

Have a look at the transaction on blockcypher.

Total Transacted
0.0 BTC

Total Fees
0.0 BTC

He got nothing.

https://live.blockcypher.com/btc/block/0000000000000000004b27f9ee7ba33d6f048f684aaeb0eea4befd80f1701126/

Block #501853
A new one, but the "unknown" miner only sacrifices only the Tx fee this time.
Number Of Transactions = 1
Transaction Fees   0 BTC

https://blockchain.info/block-height/501853

Viable attack to use when the blockchain is already backlogged with txs?
Somebody needs to start working on a fix.
Hoping it isn't a viable attack in the long term.
Cant keep sacrificing 12.5 BTC unless there is a bigger end game. But can keep sacrificing  fees for keeping the mining fee higher for longer.
Have a bad feeling about this. Mostly the timing. Already a bit too down on price and might end up testing long term support levels .Hope its nothing.

Empty blocks are very common... but what i haven't seen before was the Zero reward...

I have asked the question in the Tech Support board..

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2667744.0

Basically need to change the BTC wiki to say Max coin generated is 21M - 12.5

The vast majority of thread participants herein would have never bought such a stupid dumbass centralized manipulated coin,

While they may not have bought it, they may have received it. Anyone who asked got 20,000 XRP back in the day.

Really?

You are trying to assert that these coins were "free" and/or fairly distributed based on some kind of "ask" scenario?

You really believe your own bullshit half the time?

A little holiday greeting:  Get the fuck out of here, picnic food eating bear dude.. (   Cheesy  )

Get over yourself JJG - your noobishness is on full display.

Yes indeed, 20,000 XRP were given to anyone who provided a Ripple address to which said XRP could be sent. True story.

How could this be about me?

You are such a distraction with your off topic pursuits.  Making me feel like this:   Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Today an order to sell the bunch of Stellars that I got for free as a bitcoinaire got executed at the absolute top, so I recovered almost a 3% of the total value of my btc. Against negativity try to cash in some shitfork dividends.

Congrats. Talking of which, the deadline for Polo to claim Stellar is tomorrow. Guess that's my free coins down the drain then...

Is this another dividend I have not heard of some how?

All individual bitcoin holders could claim some stellar last summer, but the giveaway finished on August 27th. The catch was you had to use facebook to claim.

However exchanges can still claim on behalf of their customers until tomorrow.

https://www.stellar.org/blog/bitcoin-claim-lumens-2/

Kraken never game me my lumens for that distribution. Do you think they will do now?

Remember remember the 2016 December: when $1000 was the dream come true. Even if we're down to $12k or less, we're still more than 10x from a year ago.

All the bugmen who were worshipping these completely centralized cuckchains seemed to have stopped talking about lambos and are now trying to find someone to give them a used Evinrude bass boat motor for a bitcoin.

One thing that should also be taken into consideration is that many exchanges have suspended new user registrations until they can come up with current demand.

I am not completely sure about short term predictions... But everything shows 2018 will be a good year for crypto.

With all the price drama, withering Bitcoin dominance and high fees discussion, Bitcoin still functions beautifully  Roll Eyes

Remember everyone. The end game of all of this fud, shit coin pump and dump, mempool spam, forks, and now empty blocks, is to separate you from your bitcoin. It would take a team of full time employees to keep track of all the shit. If you don't have a team of full time employees, the only move here is to hodl. Don't let them have YOUR bitcoin. Make them pay for it at a premium. Stop thinking so small! Take a year off. This is a long game. 4 years is nothing in the grand scheme of things. Relax, forget about bitcoin, go back to work, come back in a year.

Alts are poised for a boom right now, the only thing that can spoil it is a bull run in BTC price

Be careful - whoever is pumping and selling alts is doing it to increase their BTC supply - when this alt run fizzles out there would have been a lot of BTC changed hands

But everything shows 2018 will be a good year for crypto.

This will be the year dog shirt merchants accept bitcoin for dog shirts.

Only 4.3% people voted $12,000-$14,000 for Dec 31, the second least popular option. Interesting, it seems that crowd sentiment is a great contrarian indicator.

Awesome! Do they accept DOGE? I would be willing to put them to some use... as soon as I finish making a killing in polo lending at around 1.5% (daily avg).
