Hodl refers to what you believe in. BTC was seen as a dubious innovation some years ago. A shitcoin now can become a very useful tool in the future. Hodl is a state of mind about you believing in a tech rather than trading for more fiat. That's all. Anything new is always doubted and ridiculed. Only those with a sharp foresight can see that there is more to it. |

Allowing random autistic people to play mad scientist and experiment on the world is just not something I'm too thrilled about happening. He doesn't even seem to have real goals for his experiments. He just wants to play dice for the fuck of it = disaster waiting to happen. |

JFC! When I just saw you came back I took that as a bullish signal. I remember you were wise enough to convert all (or most) of your alts into BTC at the end of the bull market raising your BTC count to a whooping 50. I was not that wise and.... you know what happened to most alts. What did you do with your 50BTC? Did you rebuy into alts?
Same as you. I converted some. Most of it remained in the same alts, which I watched every month starting March 2018 ... all the way to December 2018 ... and you don't catch falling knives. Admittedly, they were in alts that either had stakes or some sort of return, those I did convert to BTC every month (every week) and then converted those to fiat, to pay for everything. And it was fine and dandy until around September or October, but I still kept HODLing. With the exception of the coins I lost to the two exchanges dying, all my other alts still have the same alt value, just not the same BTC or USD value. While I still believe in BTC, the alts had "interest" so to speak, so I was living off of that. Now I can't, and I got some debts which I am having difficulty paying, (kinda foolish, should have zero'd them all out at least), and next week, I start a normie job working for some company. I still keep my alts, and hopefully, the combined income from the job and the alts will enable me to keep my head above the water long enough until the whole crypto (BTC and everything else) starts going up. Seems we have hit bottom, and while any lower will hurt, ... we're going to bounce soon. I feel you. This are hard times... much more when we consider the paper profits we had not so long ago. It hurts. Badly. If someone dares to tell me how lucky I am during the next bull run I will hit him hard.... and tell him how lucky he is. I hope you at least still have a sizeable (even if currently undervalued) stash. I can just wish for a recovery... but I can't help thinking it is not coming soon. Hope to be wrong. |

Actually, no, I "earned" 50 BTC worth of shitcoins (well, I don't consider them shitcoins, but whatever) ... my mistake was not cashing them out to BTC when I had the chance, and in hindsight, cashing out those BTC to fiat (maybe some, not all) so that I can live comfortably for a couple years, and then find a normie job without worrying about the future. (50 BTC was $1m USD back in Jan 2018? Something like that.) And continue to earn or hodl everything. But hey, no one's perfect. Either learn from your mistakes, or learn from other's mistakes. Still think they were pretty good bets. A bitcoin would help so much, I'm not going homeless, and I've got a family to keep warm. Thanks for sharing. In the end, you win some you lose some in this game. I won a lot and lost a lot. I cashed out a lot when BTC was 1100$ and bought a (now the most expensive in the world) Ducati. Even tho that could have been a Ducati AND a Lambo I still don't regret that decision. I sold 1200 ETH which I got by mining form the very start and by daytrading at a good profit. But in hindsight.... I had a nice Dash masternode purring. Sold it for a good profit, but in hindsight.... I had 98.5 BTC at my top. Now I only have a fraction What I learned was: - Take some profit now and then and enjoy that. That can never be taken away. - Be patient - Don't trade when there are emotions involved So, some valuable lessons, a great adventure, and some nice spoils of war. Not what it could've been but I'm very happy. This year I'm saving and trying to rebuild a decent stash of BTC as much as that is possible. Having more then one whole BTC is a win in my book already. |
