Here's the picnic bear at it again.

TL;DR jbreher argues big blocks with byzantine precision and aggressively low intellectual honesty. Beware: he's good at it.

Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain! He's only the chief scientist of the protocol and self proclaimed creator, a patent troll who copyrighted the whitepaper and trying to build a patent forest around the tech, other than that BSv is as decentralized as bitcoin. Keep trying to preach new n00bs in. Even in his best case scenario miners will just go behind tor, then who he's going to sue? But go ahead go fight the internet that always turns out well  Roll Eyes

Correct. BSV is just as decentralized as BTC. Craig's escapades notwithstanding. As they are irrelevant from the standpoint of the protocol and the chain.

Craig's escapades are indeed irrelevant to the protocol. Which, in a world of infinite straight lines and dimensionless points, has just as much centralization as BTC. However, in a world where there's a positive lower bound to the cost of resources, keeping verification costs near that lower bound conflicts with the number of lanes in the highway, so to say. Small vs big blocks becomes a matter of politics, or better said religion.

Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

Interesting data point;

The PPE section at my local Home Depot looks like something out of Venezuela.  The only dust masks left were a few of the most expensive type...big sign "limited to 10 per customer"

Found the same at my local hardware store. Needed to buy some dust masks for a job I'm starting in the next few weeks. Headed to the PPE section and it was swarmed by Chinese buying boxes at a time. The attendant informed me it has been happening for a few day (apparently they are buying up and sending back home where they're all sold out)

Your marketing materials need to be updated immediately - as people seem to be reading this as some kind of endorsement from me.  I'm coming to speak my mind, which includes that BSV offers nothing for Wikipedia and that there is zero chance we would ever use it.

Ouch.

In my opinion it is this:

It is one thing to find an alternative protocol to Bitcoin interesting, or believe in it as an investment.

I don't agree with this view, but people have the right to make choices, even if they ultimately prove to be wrong.  Live and let live.

However, going so far as refusing to condemn the objectively indefensible, places someone beyond the possibility of respect.  A fellow traveler ceases to be a friend, which is a shame.

Craig Wright's lack of principles and honesty is objectively indefensible.  This has been proven in a court of law.  He has lied under oath; it is not unreasonable to conclude he lives a tissue of lies.

When any man is obviously of sound mind and intelligent, but still disregards the obvious and will not condemn this plainly malignant, transparent liar, one can only conclude he is either; as corrupt as the man he defends, too egotistical, or too weak and foolish to look in the mirror and admit that he might be wrong.

And again, you conflate my support of BSV with support of CSW. Just no.

Dashjr has stated it is legitimate to kill all non-xtians. Does that taint all of BTC? No. For the person and the coin are two different things.

Do you think TRX and Justin Sun are two different things? Do you think TRX is not tainted by Justin?

If you believe that, then I have some TRX to sell you.

There are plenty of reasons to completely ignore TRX. So I do.

Irrelevant false equivalence is irrelevant.

What everybody (of non-rational mind) forgets is that nobody wants to use a coin spearheaded by a known con artist. The adoption barrier is already hard enough to overcome for bitcoin; with its completely unfriendly leadership and Craig's baggage, BSV stands no chance of overcoming it.

We already have a bitcoin. It works just fine. Well enough to the point that nobody needs to use its (first) forked competitor.

one little question here, while everyone is expecting the pump on btc and reaching around 15k-20k why dominance is decreasing lately  Huh

doesnt it means that the promised AltSeason might be much closer than  we expect  Grin

i think we are waiting for that season for around 3 years  Roll Eyes

I think that you should have been asking this in the altcoin speculation area.
Yes, some altcoins were lately recovering nicely and the numbers show that. This may mean a lot or may mean nothing, since we are mostly focused here on Bitcoin and I didn't see proper TA for the major worthy altcoins.
I think that altcoin season (constant bigger gains than Bitcoin) may be sooner than 3 years though. It may depend (or not) on when Bitcoin surpasses 20k and how long the good side of the market cycle will last.
Since money is comeing back into Bitcoin, it's not unexpected that some altcoins get their share too. But I am not convinced we are close to altcoin season. One flower doesn't make it spring.

Chinese Crypto Mine Stop or Stall Operations Due to Coronavirus Outbreak

Quote
Due to the Coronavirus outbreak in China, the government has taken a series of measurements to keep the situation under control. Businesses are being affected across the nation. With the existing quarantine control, people are staying right at where they are and not be able to return to their work.

A mining farm, in particular, is being forced to shut down during the epidemic. According to BTC.top CEO Jiang Zhuoer’s Weibo moment post on Feb. 4, all the mining machines have been forced to shut down in one of the mining farms he owns in a remote region in China.

Per Zhuoer’s post, the firm has been told that it’s not allowed to return to work at the moment. He claims that personnel at the mining farm have never stopped working and none of the maintenance staff has ever left this area before the quarantine control period.

Oh no you don't. Relevant equivalence is exactly right.

There are reasons, ripping to infinity - to completely ignore BSV. So we do.
Yet, you come here with your dog and piss all over, trying to trick people into believing BSV is anything but a scam.

Why is it that you don't post in the relative threads?

Many alt coins were down 95%-99%. The sellers ran dry, which means they can be pumped heavily very easily. They weren't going to go down forever, and bitcoin wasn't going to gain dominance forever either, it's impossible.
